i have never thought about it. thanks for opeing my eyes as this is a very important thing in wakeboarding. if you can make a video about how to increase ollie power (height), what boards are better to get higher ollies, what special tips you have for ollie, that would be great. good job, keep up bro!
Csaba Cseke I will definitely make a video about that! In my personal opinion, more rocker helps with ollie’ing higher. But yeah thanks for watching bro!
Brilliant! Many thanks JB... I've been pulling my knees up at the top and absorbing the pop instead of pushing off the pop. A superb clear, instructive and concise tutorial dude. If I do manage to fly, I will let you know when I get back down to earth, haha. Peace out my brother ;0)
hey JB, probably seems super simple to you demonstrated by the hilarious examples but this was super helpful for a new rider like me! I've been searching for tutorials on how to ollie onto obstacles if you're looking for any ideas on your next video! thanks again
oh oh! great vid! JB, if you have similar how to go higher off the flat, boost on raleys, that would be ace. Tips on edging and release, approach after the corner and when to start edging, how long the edge should be, body/arms position to get that extra height :)
Juozas Petravicius man I was literally at bsr today and was gonna film that but ended up having to film some surf thing for work, next time I go I will do it 🤘🏻🤘🏻
PERFECT explanation. Can you do the same for behind the boat (sure they are similar but what is different?). I clear wake to wake easily but lack upward pop. Thanks!
Nice video! I am also still a beginner wakeboarder but since there are not so much tutorial vids in dutch i am thinking of making some dutch tutorial movies about some basics, water start/ dock start stuff like that. Maybe it will make my channel grow a little 😅. Thanks for you upload JB i really enjoy your vids🤙🏻🏄🏼♂️
Colton Meeks the rope stretches at cable so you sort of have to just keep pulling even if it starts to bungee away, also if you edge somewhat hard then back off last second it can help sometimes!
JB ONeill I just wakeboard the weekend and so much things to learn and try 😅... Last weekend I did work the blind and did sucess few... I receive my new helmet so I try the back rolls with no kickers. I was able to turn but missing edge not enough high to be able to finish the rotation and land...
head on over to my channel, there is already a tantrum to blind tutorial on there :) I have the raley one already filmed, it comes out in a few weeks :)
Cool! Somehow I always forget to actually pop. It seems your landing is rather flat on the water, but some people tell me i have to land on my back foot first to soften the landing, is that right? Could you make a How To for Raleys? and please also include raleys from kickers and the raley start ^^
Yeah you would land a bit softer when landing rear foot first, I land flat a lot if I want things stomped, a lot of times landing too rear foot heavy can cause butt checking. I don’t really focus on that a whole lot, I mainly try and land stabile so my knees are safe. I would mainly avoid landing front foot heavy. Yeah I have already filmed the kicker Raley tutorial, comes out in a couple weeks I think :)
What exactly do you mean by hard edge? Is it to lay my back lower, so I'm almost laying down on the water before I hit the kicker as I was going to air raley or do you mean start carving towards the kicker later instead of progressively? I feel like sometimes I go bigger then others just because of the way I approach the kicker.. but I can't say why.. I should've pay attention to physics class 😅
Hey JB, thanks for the video. This question might deserve its own tutorial, but it is related. I'm curious on what angle we should be taking the kicker at. For example some people say lower inner corner to upper outer corner. Some say it depends on the trick. How does this affect the pop and then getting a nice skimming landing?
TheLoungeSBS it really depends on how hard you are trying to send lol, corner to corner would really get you up there, but also the tension will be a lot tighter making handlepasses and other things harder to do. But yeah pushing is the best way to get pop and then depending on what you are doing either edge hard or soft
These videos are always so helpful, you explain it so well even me as a total smooth brain can understand it clearly 😂
thisvideo will help a lot of new wakeborders
thats the goal :)
everyones going to be going huge haha!!
@@stevenwilson8975 hopefully!
pushing people to the next level
that is definitely the goal!!
Thanks JB. You explain it very clearly and shows it perfectly to understand better. like many of your videos. you improved my riding a lot

thanks so much man!!!
love your vids JB they are all good from bigger to advance.
trying to cater to everyone ha :)
Thank you very much for all your explanation videos, very helpful and nice to watch! It helped me progress on a few tricks :)
Thanks for watching bro!!
You should so some kind of progression chain for another video where you roughly explain in which order you usually learn new tricks
Lennart Michel yeah I could maybe do that, there really isn’t much of an order, aside from learning the basics first so that you don’t die haha
hey JB, probably seems super simple to you demonstrated by the hilarious examples but this was super helpful for a new rider like me! I've been searching for tutorials on how to ollie onto obstacles if you're looking for any ideas on your next video! thanks again

Great tutorial ! When you have a chance explain one behind the boat. Thanx
I can definitely try and get that done :) thank you!
also shaun murray made a boat one if you want to check out his channel
Can you do a vid on line tension when spinning at the cable? I can do it no prob on the boat and as soon as i hit the kicker it yanks out
yeah, I can do that, how fast are you trying to spin?
Always happen when i go for 5 heelside or toeside

hi jb can you teach us how to do a nose press and a tail press? thank you!
yes for sure!, head on over to my channel, there is a how to nosepress video already :) I will make a tail press soon! lean back !
thanks you for this JB! 🙌
can you make a video about ollie. how to ollie into rail and sideways into boxes. 🙏🙏
donz esmilla yes 😊 I plan on doing this 🤘🏻
I have noticed that when I land after popping off a kicker I always end up landing really hard but you land nice and gently how do you do that?

Joffrey Formont like an air trick backroll?
JB ONeill you did make a tutorial one month ago about a backroll on a kicker. No this one but a backroll from the water directly same as a raley
@@JoffreyFormont oh goodness. I think were experiencing a language barrier, cause im not grasping what you're saying

Great! Will check the tantrum! We'll be heading out to cwc next2 right in time for the release of kickey raley

If you have a stronger faster edger at the kicker, you will be hitting it with more speed, so in theory you should go higher lol
The start of all great tricks... boostin!
🤘🏻
awsome vid
thanks dawggggggg as always

hi JB,does “both hand on the handle” help pop higher?
probably not lol
Hey JB, thanks for the video. This question might deserve its own tutorial, but it is related. I'm curious on what angle we should be taking the kicker at.
