Helpful video - thank you for putting it together. A question for you kind of related - perhaps for another video. Can you discuss a simple strategy for ungating brands. In other words, when does it make sense to ungate. When I do retail arbitrage, and I go into a store like Marshalls, I see lots of high quality brands (Adidas, Puma, Nike, Ralph Lauren, etc.) that can be pursued, maybe even at a loss (investment), but that depletes from inventory capital in the short run. If you were starting again from scratch, how would you make the decision of what the ungate first and then going forward? Thank you!

New to FBA and came across your vid with a few questions: 1. Do you buy all this and then return it later if your only buying to un-gate? 2. Since this vid is 7 months old, do you know if it still works for ppl to get un-gated? 3. Do you still buy it even if the BSR is over 1%?
When I’m ungating, it doesn’t really matter to me the BSR or the profit, the whole purpose is just to get that category/brand ungated. But I try not to lose as much as possible. I personally do not return the products, I either send them in or use them myself- it doesn’t feel honest to me to return them. I can’t say IF the strategy will work, as Amazon changes things on the daily and on a seller by seller basis… what worked yesterday, may not today. And what works for one seller may be denied by another… you never know what will work until you try 😀
One of the documents that is being requested by Amazon for advil is the FDA registration and it must include the address of the manufacturer and that the FDA registration is “valid” or “active”. Where do I find this information? The orange book product details doesn’t give me this info.

Also can confirm I was instantly ungated for the always liner, so I would need to find another product for toiletries category on weiners as well? If so, any recommendations? I don't want to order 10 of something else and get denied/waste money! Thanks in advance!!
I just go down the list and look what’s on weiners, then type it into amazon and find the listing that matches. Ungates aren’t typically money makers. But if you manually search you should find some others that you won’t take a loss on 😊

Hi I was watching your video on ungating made 8 months ago. I have few questions. 1. I did not understand when you said that the Advil and Cheez it invoices can be placed together in 1invoice? 2. I live in Canada, can I still use weiners ltd to order advil and cheez it? and I have to wait until the products are shipped to me here in Toronto, before I can apply to sell? Sara
You’d just submit that same invoice for each application. Submit it with the proof of products by taking a pic of the ten Advil to ungate that category, and then submit the invoice with the cracker pictures to ungate that category.
To keep small products together for easier counting in during receiving at the Amazon warehouse I’d do… but to package a customer’s product in a ziplock with the sku on the outside of the baggie… that doesn’t scream “professional” to me, so I wouldn’t personally do that.
My issue is signing up for a seller account. Do I link my seller account to my buyers account, or should I get a new email address to use for the new seller account? Thanks for a great video!

You can check that box. I believe that is a glitch in AMZ. I was just ungated in DVDs and LEGO and I just checked that box with a new invoice for both.

Known brand big names will usually always have to be additionally ungated. Look for the smaller brand names that aren’t so “known” and generic brand like great value.

If you’re ungating in OTC then yes you need to provide orange book. Yes they’ll take BOGO even though you purchased 5. I’ve never used Walgreens for ungating.. I wonder if they approve from there, you’ll have to let me know!
It’s always a grey area understanding what method Amazon will accept from any seller on any given day… the only way to know for sure is to test it out 😊

I'm having a hard time getting an explanation as to how losses can occur due to buying 10 items to obtain an invoice. If a product is bought from a wholesaler at a discount, why would a loss be incurred??? Is there some sort of fee that could make someone sell at a loss??? If this is the case, why don't all transactions in which products are being bought for the purpose of being resold lead to losses??? I hope my question is clear. Thanks.
Can explain the 180 days from purchase? It seems like it only gives you a couple days to submit if you look at the date it's already dated back 178 days but the product takes longer to be shipped pushing it out of 180 days. Am I missing something here?

Happened to me as well, both liner brands sold on Weiner's were both easily accessed for the brands but doesn't seem to include the category which is what we needed.
Google orange book and it will come up for you to click on. It has drugs information in it, which you’ll have to provide for the Product you choose to ungate with. Be sure the product you choose is actually in the orange book first.

No, Advil is an example of otc. To ungate specific category I used ibuprofen and purchased through my Amazon business account and that worked for me to ungate.
Just to clarify on a listing with multipack. I found a product I need ungating but it's a 3 pack. So I have to buy 30 to make it 10 packs then put on poly bag with fnsku and do not separate sticker? Thank you so much!
That’s what makes sense to me- but I very recently heard you need ten units, period.. no matter how many units are considered one in a multi pack, and it’s worked. If you decide to ungate in a multipack listing- but only get 10 total units and it works… definitely let me know! 😊I love to hear info from people that I trust first-hand.

I ordered a pack of 12 as bulk, but it was the listing title instead of the quantity. For example: “Cheezit, pack of 6” x 2 units. Would this still work ?
I wouldn't return the items. Just feels wrong since you're going to be making money with this brand/category. Besides you could just sell them for potentially a profit or around break-even so it's essentially free once your money is back.
@@ProfitGuru1 I have to ask I was going to start with wholesale as a new saler. Now, im tempted to do some RA/OA to get my feet wet, because finding a wholesaler seems to be very time consuming. I personally think the hardest part is finding the good products. You have so many options. I believe I watched a couple of your vids but do you mind making some more product research one. I use Frontier Co-Op to get ungated in said categories, I actually received my first product today. I have another coming soon. I am hoping to get ungated in groceries and beauty and personal care.
Yes, but keep in mind that just because the category gets ungated- the that doesn’t mean that every brand will become ungated. You’ll still have to request approval for each different brand.
but amazon says that this will ungate us from otc which i guess is medicine but what about grocery and other categories? Will this ungate us from that too like can I sell oreos after getting ungated
You ungate each category separately … but just because the category gets ungated, there are still big brand names that will need ADDITIONAL ungating, and some brands that will be restricted. For example I ungated the beauty category, but the brand Bert’s Bees is still gated and would be additional ungating.
@ProfitGuru when I get ungated in a whole category, do I still have to apply to be ungated by some brands in that ungated category? I assume I will be selling all these products FBM and use UPS to send them to the designated Amazon warehouse. Thank you in advance!
FBM means merchant fulfilling them yourself. If you want to send them to the warehouse be sure to use FBA (fulfilled by Amazon) as the selling method. With ungating, yes there will still be many brands in the newly ungated category that won’t be available to you without requesting further permission or obtaining the needed documents.
True. Ungating isn’t meant for profit, it’s meant for the purpose of opening up new brands and categories that will then give you opportunities for profit.

Match the info on your invoice to whatever info is in your Amazon seller account. It doesn’t have to be pdf form.

No the shipping address you send to MUST be the same shipping address that you have on file on your Amazon seller account 😊

It’s always different.. Amazon changes what they accept often! But I did it with a Kohls invoice and they accepted it at that time.

That’s what makes sense to me- but I very recently heard you need ten units, period.. no matter how many units are considered one in a multi pack, and it’s worked. If you decide to ungate in a multipack listing- but only get 10 total units and it works… definitely let me know! 😊I love to hear info from people that I trust first-hand.

I ordered a pack of 12 as bulk, but it was the listing title instead of the quantity.
For example: “Cheezit, pack of 6” x 2 units.

I wouldn't return the items. Just feels wrong since you're going to be making money with this brand/category. Besides you could just sell them for potentially a profit or around break-even so it's essentially free once your money is back.

You’ll have to do it each time you find you’re gated in a specific brand or category.

@@ProfitGuru1 I have to ask I was going to start with wholesale as a new saler. Now, im tempted to do some RA/OA to get my feet wet, because finding a wholesaler seems to be very time consuming. I personally think the hardest part is finding the good products. You have so many options.
I believe I watched a couple of your vids but do you mind making some more product research one. I use Frontier Co-Op to get ungated in said categories, I actually received my first product today. I have another coming soon. I am hoping to get ungated in groceries and beauty and personal care.

Yes, but keep in mind that just because the category gets ungated- the that doesn’t mean that every brand will become ungated. You’ll still have to request approval for each different brand.
but amazon says that this will ungate us from otc which i guess is medicine but what about grocery and other categories? Will this ungate us from that too like can I sell oreos after getting ungated
You ungate each category separately … but just because the category gets ungated, there are still big brand names that will need ADDITIONAL ungating, and some brands that will be restricted.
For example I ungated the beauty category, but the brand Bert’s Bees is still gated and would be additional ungating.
So by doing one product does that ungate you for the entire category

I think they’re getting more strict as each day passes! It worked for me last year for two different brands and categories.
@ProfitGuru when I get ungated in a whole category, do I still have to apply to be ungated by some brands in that ungated category? I assume I will be selling all these products FBM and use UPS to send them to the designated Amazon warehouse. Thank you in advance!
FBM means merchant fulfilling them yourself. If you want to send them to the warehouse be sure to use FBA (fulfilled by Amazon) as the selling method.
With ungating, yes there will still be many brands in the newly ungated category that won’t be available to you without requesting further permission or obtaining the needed documents.
Website is good for ungating but despite their emphasis on FBA there's practically nothing profitable even in the slightest it seems...
True. Ungating isn’t meant for profit, it’s meant for the purpose of opening up new brands and categories that will then give you opportunities for profit.
