the problme is now that they have to code a game from source 1 in source 2 and usually its kinda hard to make it the same in 2 diffrent engines..also the deevs most likely have some bigger updates that they are workin on behind the scenes..like the armory one

Getting dinked by a grenade makes sense. Schrapnel hitting your helmet would make a dink sound. But they should def change it to a different sound, so it doesent get you confused

I think the steam community market could use an update considering we haven't had one in 10 years. Nothing crazy, but an ability to sort by float, search for specific pattern ID, search by applied stickers... that would all be wonderful for the game and the skins and just overall longevity. As for the game itself, it's been improving over time. I still wish there was certain day 1 features (like the killcam displaying your actual pattern if pattern based, along w/ any applied stickers) that ended up getting removed still in the game...
I really hope the dink sound will be patched. As someone who is used to play around smokes, it is now really disturbing to obtain a timing when you receive a grenade that will blow your cover instantly.
I mean, it shouldn't sound like a headshot dink, but different. But if you're actually getting dinked in the helmet by a bullet and also having a nade land in your lap at around the same time, you won't have to worry about anything on your end for the rest of the round.
nope, best we can do is just keep clearing our shader caches and temp files constantly on our end, anything that reduces it for us, and waiting for optimization updates, since I have pinpointed it to be a server side issue with valve servers unable to serve up frames on time. Or straight up packet loss. Why would I buffer packets to deploy at the right time, if some can't even be sent to me despite perfect internet? Then I'm buffering packets for no reason because there are some that just weren't sent entirely by the server

nade dinks actually make a bit of sense considering a grenade is filled with shrapnel that explodes in all directions, but it is fucking annoying to deal with at times. kept doin 180s thinking either someone was behind me, just to find out it was actually my teammates shitty nade lol.
yes the performance boost is noticable on my mid-end PC (12100f&2060) it looks and feels smoother before the update it was really jitter all over on CPU side (i know mine is bottleneck hard but yknow) and now its less

No one has made a video about it, like which is the best for gaming performance. Credit the always great xen for the .LOS find in the steam DB discord! Source 2 mapping mistake you see constantly is mappers forgetting to delete their .los (Lines of sight) file after doing a ton of VIS loading in map testing. This can bloat maps dozens to hundreds of MB as seen here and I've seen like a dozen cases of this at least and it really bloats file size. Ideally valve should do something like create a .los cleaner on the workshop or something to automatic this at some step of the process since this happens a ton.
Since we're getting the Major in Shanghai can we finally have a Skin selection on where we can choose if our gun can have a Perfect World version, like genuinely some skins look better in that version and we have skins that look better in our version. Best of both worlds basically

I’m glad that they’re doing updates and genuinely making the game better but somehow the game has become significantly harder to run. Dropping below 100 fps on a upper mid range PC is kind of insane tbh, especially since at launch I never dropped below 200

None of those issues are because of subtick and hitboxes, but rather a much larger issue with the netcode as a whole, I feel like. Subtick itself is small af in size.

agreed, it needs to be optimized. No game should require constantly upgrading hardware if updates are clearly the cause of the lackluster performance. Anyone saying "you need a faster pc", doesn't care that the game isn't optimized, which they should care, because it would run even faster on their supposed system. The reality is, it doesn't. Cs2 is not good at utilizing many cpu cores at all, so even upgrading the cpu wouldn't help, and upgrading the gpu wouldn't help since it's a cpu-intensive game that isn't properly coded to utilize the cpu as much as it should. Me using third-party software to force the cpu to be utilized more just for cs2 should not be something the end-user has to do....especially if I meet the recommended HW requirements and surpass them

well, game testers *should* discover these because their jobs are incredibly dull. They're not paid to play the game, they have to monotonously test it, something that was obviously not done enough with cs2. One of their jobs would be to throw decoys at literally everything on the map, along with smokes, flashes, nades, molotovs, bullets, etc., to find other bugs.
This game has potential but it needed 2 more years in the oven at least and I'm still mad at valve for shutting down CSGO i will never forgive them they could have just worked on cs2 while CSGO was still active if they have done that we would at least have a working game to play

Can someone please explain? I shoot a guy and apparently the bullets land elsewhere. The flicks do not feel like accurate at all. I installed Valorant 2 weeks ago and THE SHOTS WERE CRISP LIKE CSGO. There is no "delay", and I definitely didn't have to worry about the client side server side bs. I can't get my head around it how horrible CS2 feels now. Is this going to be the new normal for CS2 cause I am ready to FORCE myself to change the game for good.
I don't want damage prediction, delays on tagging or any of the bs that is happening around Subtick. I want classic 128 tick technology that registers my shots crisp and clean just like in the good old CS:GO days - Please :)

128tick also uses a bunch of hacky predictions since having real time is nearly impossible :)
