The other night, I had a deep, long-lasting dream, just mentally dwelling on the sheer, other-worldly beauty of Jimi's touch on guitar...and the simple lyrics of this tune are perfect! He truly was creating "sound paintings" with his musical abilities. I love this man forever!...I saw him in concert twice, and in some way, he improved my overall sensitivity concerning life, and other people.
@@gardenoftwitty but... unless you have synesthesia you probably won't see the sound to color thing ... but maybe if you partake in certain substances, you will experience some sort of chromesthesia other than that nobody actually sees colors in sound and to imbibe in substances to create such a visual experience is not recommended in my opinion but to each their one I suppose.

It was only with an isolated track I was able to hear this awesome subtle whammy bar drop in 0:32. And a lot of other details, makes it feel like that in the final mixes you only get a grasp of Jimi's genius. He was a truly gifted musician, with astounding creativity a talent. One of a kind.
on my main channel i cover all his songs note for note and it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the little details in his guitar were on the isolated stems he was trully out of the box

Eddie Kramer told the story of how the original mixes of the Axis album were stolen and he and Jimi had to quickly remix the entire album to make the deadline of the release and they were never happy with the new, hurried mixes. A very poor quality recording of what I imagine is these stolen mixes ended up on a bootleg titled "The Sothesby Reels" and a notable thing was all the extra flourishes of the Octavia-effected guitar not present in the album version. It's fantastic to hear them and more in this isolated mix. I don't where you guys get this stuff from but God bless you for posting it.

I believe that, after engineer Eddie Kramer had completed mixing the Jimi Hendrix Experience's "Axis Bold As Love" album, Jimi borrowed the mixdown tape for the album, and then forgot it in a taxi cab. So, Eddie Kramer did his best to reconstruct the lost mixings from the remaining tapes, except that he didn't have the recording of "If 6 was 9". Fortunately, bassist Noel Redding had made a quarter inch tape dub of "If 6 was 9", which Kramer used for the re-done mixdown tape for the album. Many years later, a bootleg recording surfaced of an alternative mixing of "One Rainy Wish", on which there were were notable differences in the audible instrumentation. That bootleg was theorized to have possibly been made from the lost "Axis" mixdown tape. The track on this posting sounds very much like what I can recall of that alternative mixing. p.s. ERRATA - My apologies for misremembering the following detail. I like what zappa was saying about hendrix learning to write read music ,so he could get his sound out completely. Guitar is not the only instrument that best represents Hendrix. Jimi had an orchestral ear . I hear guitar when Jimi plays for sure,l9ve it,but other instruments and musicians have to be involved to fill the fuckn space in between the notes Hendrix created. Jimi had an ear like amutha FUCKA.
