I’m normally not into the themed engines, but I do feel the Halloween Triplex is one of the best looking models I have ever seen. There are soo many features in its software that really make this a fun model to run.
After seeing the Halloween version at the Lionel booth at the Railroad Hobby Show in MA at the beginning of the year, and then seeing RBP's video, the coolness factor cannot be understated.
You two are made for each other!!! Both look fantastic. I think the Halloween Triplex is one of the best fantasy schemes done by Lionel so far. Keep having fun!
Just can’t get enough of your channel. So great that Lisa is into the trains. Great taste picking that Halloween version. I’m a big fan of the Pilot versions. I have a Pilot S3 that pulls my aluminum Milwaukee Road passenger cars.
i’ve heard people who have had wheel slip problems from these models so just giving you a heads up Eric that you might have to send this back to Lionel but if you don’t well, you got lucky
I really wasn't sure what to think of the Hallway Triplex when I first saw it, but now I think it's got to be one of the coolest trains. Also, the pilot is beautiful
Both of these look great. I agree with you about the pilot version. It looks really slick with those details standing out like that. The themed sounds on the Halloween version really push that one ahead though. Those are so cool. Can't wait for your proper review so we can hear more of what's on it.
Lisa's is a super cool fun model that makes you smile and giggle with glee and your's is something you think you'd see in a display case on your desk begging you to be able to run it somewhere.
Eric I love that unpainted version it shows so much more detail to me, The Halloween version is OK but personally I could only use it during the season yours has so much more potential. If it were mine I would only add your road number and then just lightly dust the rest of the engine with some road dust so you don't loose the details and yet it would look well used
I cannot get enough of these Triplex engines, there isn't a bad one made, and each one is cooler than the next. I also agree with some other comments that at first I wasn't so big on the fantasy schemes but I love Halloween and those sounds are just perfect. Very nice Eric, one of these days I'd love to get down there and check out that amazing layout of yours. And the unpainted one is cool in its own right, it's different and has its own personality!
Congratulations on your Triplex purchases. You probably own more of them that Baldwin ever built! It was fun watching Lisa open her first engine purchase. Even though I am not into Lionel's fantasy paint schemes the unpainted "pilot" models are very unique. They bring back memories of my HO scale days when you bought a brass engine. They were always natural finish and you either ran them that way or painted them. Looking forward to your review once you've received the Super Set.
Have the Halloween Triplex and just added the Atlas O Halloween Box car. No wheel slip issue but if you’re not careful you can disconnect the tender from the engine. Just need to plug the wire back in.
Cool! I really like the unpainted version. It looks sweet and the detail is just fine. They need the depleting coal load to go with the wheel slip action, but other than that, it’s close to perfect. The Halloween version is nice, too, but it’s a lot of shekels for a seasonal engine. Either way, an excellent video, as always.
Eric i think that pilot triplex looks great i see nothing wrong with it but ima say this if its something that you like yourself then thats all that matters and nice additions buddy 👍👍👍👍
I always find the crew talk goofy (no hate, just not for me lol) but the Halloween one was just next level, I couldn't get through it. But for what is effectively a joke it fits well. If I had the money and spce for one I would totally grab one. The wheel slip is cool new feature, would be cool to see on future models.
Well it looks like the Triplex is going to be a lot more successful for Lionel than it ever was for Baldwin! Kind of like the Pennsy Turbine, history DOES repeat itself at times! Fine aquisitions folks! And while the "prototype" Triplex isn't something I'd be interested in it IS quite a unique collectible in it's own right. Kind of like "In the white" firearms are to gun collectors. Thanks for posting!
Poor Lisa looks like she's wrestling her first big fish trying to get that unboxed lol. I DO care for the unpainted version. Very nice! 🤫 Lisa's is better 🤫
Magnificent! I wonder if a real Erie Triplex was preserved? One question on the locomotive, are the drivers under the tender powered or are they free running? Personally, I love the unpainted locomotive.
None survived. Their boilers couldn't make enough steam to keep all six cylinders supplied, and thus could only manage a top speed of 10mph (Erie) and 5mph (Virginian). The latter one was dismantled and rebuilt into a 2-8-8-0 and a 2-8-2 and both survived into the early 1950's. The Erie ones were scrapped by 1930.
Does the Halloween engine have regular whistle and bell sounds? Because sometimes the whistles sound haunting themselves. Don't care for the howling sound. Nevermind, It sounds like it does
I don’t see why anybody would be angry at what you choose to buy. You buy what you want. I buy what I want. You have bad taste, and I have good taste. Just kidding!
Wow, I have to say Both of these Versions of the Halloween and the Pilot Triplex Locomotives are Amazing, Also Love the Wheel Slip at the End.😃👍
Both versions of the Triplex are gorgeous I really like the Halloween themed crew talk and the werewolf whistle
Thanks!
The Halloween Triplex is badass.
Good choice Lisa 👍
It’s so cool that lisa shares the hobby with you. Very nice👍

I don’t care what people say, that pilot triplex is super cool!
I agree!
That unpainted one is amazing!!! Awesome video!!! Thanks for sharing with us!
I’m with you, Eric! I really truly love the pilot version. Wow!!💯❤️😎
You two are made for each other!!!
Both look fantastic. I think the Halloween Triplex is one of the best fantasy schemes done by Lionel so far.
Keep having fun!
Totally!

Thanks so much!!
I’ve never really been into the silly paint schemes but this changed my mind forever. That Halloween one is incredible!
Awesome!
The pilot model looks fabulous. Factory fresh showing her best stuff.
i’ve heard people who have had wheel slip problems from these models so just giving you a heads up Eric that you might have to send this back to Lionel but if you don’t well, you got lucky
I'm aware.
The wheel slip feature is gonna make it a tad bit harder to recognize Matthew
I like the super set

There are both fantastic looking engines, a great addition to your collection 👍👍
Love the un painted one, makes me think of my old brass days. The wheel slip feature is great . Thanks Eric.

NICE VID ERIC. I HAVE THE GREEN ARMY TRIPLEX AND IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ENGINES. 🙂
The glow effect is outstanding
That wheel slipping feature is super cool! Looks very realistic. Great video Eric!
Thanks! 👍

It's gorgeous 😍😍😍😍😍😍 6:53

Fun stuff. Wheel slip is awesome.
Happy Halloween Eric!! Very nice locomotive👍🤘💙
The Halloween triplex is cool, fun features and great paint scheme - awesome pick Lisa and enjoy your locomotive.
Great video, I like Lisa's halloween triplex the best. Great paint scheme, sounds, and glow in the dark.
Interesting, enjoyable, fun to see and watch and hear operate. Thanks to your expertise and efforts, PJR 😀

I love both these look so cool
Eric, The pilot version is way cool! I just ordered one.

Money well spent on both. Both have great attributes in my opinion!
Wow! Both models are beautiful! Congratulations 🍾🎈 to both of you for your fantastic acquisitions! Thanks for sharing and Happy Halloween 🎃‼️
Oh My Goodness Sake!!! Fantastic!!!!!
I think Eric might have a record for most triplex's owned
I love this! Both classic steam and modern diesels. ;
Wow, I TOTALLY LOVE that "pilot" version. Personally, I would leave it just like that. 😀
Agreed. They're actually not meant to be painted. There's a layer of clear coat to protect the metal.
Have the Halloween Triplex and just added the Atlas O Halloween Box car. No wheel slip issue but if you’re not careful you can disconnect the tender from the engine. Just need to plug the wire back in.
I LOVE THE PAINT on the Halloween tender
Awesome locomotive! Got any model railway plans for November and December? I got 2 pre grouping steam locomotives I wanna show this month.
That is an amazing loco!
Those things are huge!
Both are beautiful
Wheel slip is so cool!
We were quite taken when we first saw the Halloween Triplex in person. My wife almost ordered one on site.
Lisa looked like a little kid at Christmas opening that tri plex ! Both look awesome
😃
Cinders and ashes!!!(cried Thomas as he raced back to tidmouth sheds.)
Collecting souls, the spirit can not be the devoured.
I like it!! Didn't think I would but I do
The unfinished engine, that is.
Your train is unbelievable 🚂😎
Cool! I really like the unpainted version. It looks sweet and the detail is just fine. They need the depleting coal load to go with the wheel slip action, but other than that, it’s close to perfect. That Halloween one was great, I see why se likes it it cool
Just in time for Halloween Eric.
Eric i think that pilot triplex looks great i see nothing wrong with it but ima say this if its something that you like yourself then thats all that matters and nice additions buddy 👍👍👍👍
1:45 shut up phone now it’s not your time lol
Ginna need the sander for that steep grade!!!!
I wouldn’t mind seeing an ES44AC in the red and silver Santa Fe warbonnet scheme!
I think it's safe to say, I like both of them.
I always find the crew talk goofy (no hate, just not for me lol) but the Halloween one was just next level, I couldn't get through it. But for what is effectively a joke it fits well. If I had the money and spce for one I would totally grab one.
The wheel slip is cool new feature, would be cool to see on future models.
just love it all
They look great man I debated hard on the unpainted ended up with the green army custom from muffins and the Northern Pacific
The Halloween Train Is Awesome! MoPac Jack
That pilot version is incredible.

the halloween triplex startup is hilarious
“I have collected all the souls i wish”
If i had a penny for every time I heard that…….
I would just be rewinding this video
I think Lisa needs her own train channel.
I think so too lol
I think the unpainted versions are unique and eye catching
I have a question can you please make a double heading with the triplex
The Halloween train is amazing “;-)”🚂🎃🎃🎃🎃
Yep!
must of missed it....what is the price for the halloween one?
Poor Lisa looks like she's wrestling her first big fish trying to get that unboxed lol. I DO care for the unpainted version. Very nice! 🤫 Lisa's is better 🤫
is it possible to do a triplex triple header?🤔
When are we going to see the York meet and greet video?
I share your enthusiasm of the unpainted tri-plex.
Eric, that looks magnificent. Is it a step up from Lionel's semi scale offerings?
Yes, a big step up
Eric did the MTH version have one motor or two?
Also the Halloween Triplex is awesome! That glow in the dark feature is cool.
The MTH one had 1 I think
Magnificent! I wonder if a real Erie Triplex was preserved? One question on the locomotive, are the drivers under the tender powered or are they free running? Personally, I love the unpainted locomotive.

I neeeeeeeeeedddddd it!!! (If only they had had it in ho scale😔)
I’m happy you find a nice girl to sheer the hobby with👍👍👍👍👍🚂🚂🚂🚂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ABC or NBC should have made Herman Monster a Locomotive engineer instead of a grave digger. Of course, grandpa would have made a good conductor. LOL
I like the unpainted a lot better
me too!
Eric, I thought Lisa was/looked 12 years old in the thumbnail. 🙂
Pach it for the aw rr
yeah, I dont get why people get mad at the "unrealistic" sets, the hobby is about "FUN" and if you cant take a joke, maybe you shouldnt be doing this.
I don’t see why anybody would be angry at what you choose to buy. You buy what you want. I buy what I want. You have bad taste, and I have good taste. Just kidding!
I know, right?
what is that Pennsylvania steam engine above your wife as she opens her triplex?
First :) Awesome train!
congrats
Put it on your resume 🤡
That thing is almost as big as your wife any bigger you will be. able to ridet on that loco wow.🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
I don't like the pilot
No the train hobby is about spending unpractical money on something that is ridiculous
right
Just say you’re poor and boring
