  • This is Part 16 of my trip continuing the journey today reaching the start of the 630Km Kystriksveien (a really scenic Coastal Road), Norway is just full of fabulous roads and scenery, the weather continues to be very kind to me, and the hours of daylight make it difficult to know when to stop for the day. If you're reading this and get the opportunity I can truly recommend it!
    The whole journey took me through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and into Norway right the way up to Nordkapp, the furthest point you can travel by motorcycle or car in mainland Europe and then back through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France over a 7 week period late May - mid July 2023
    I am back in the UK now, but please do add your comments and I'll get back to you.
    Hoping you can "Like" the video, as this does help the channel.
    All my best wishes, thanks again for watching

      Glad you're enjoying the series, the editing process is a double edged sword... a bit laborious but reminding myself of the journey is a huge plus (including the stuff that doesn't make it into the video).
      Many thanks for the comment!

    Even E6 looked like a pleasant ride. You were lucky finding such nice campsites. Looking forward to next week’s episode. Cheers for now, Jim

      Thanks Jim, it was very tranquil at the campsite and if all else failed I'm sure I could have found somewhere to pitch the tent

    Sometimes motorways/fast roads are a necessary evil when progress is required. The camp site at the end seemed very peaceful.

      Absolutely, I preferred the scenery of major routes I had to take on this trip over the UK's M25 any day! And yep, the campsite was a nice find

    Whatever you're doing with your audio is working great at times! Your voice is coming through the best I've heard in any of your videos at certain times, cutting out most of the wind and really making your voice crisp. Keep on experimenting, you're really onto something now!

    Yet another great episode Nick thanks. Audio whilst riding was pretty muffled I thought.

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, sorry about the sound, I'm experimenting with different "tweaks" in the edit and oddly, on my laptop it sounds "ok" but once uploaded and played in TH-cam it is definitely more muffled. Hopefully I'll get it right "soon"

    I'm norwegian and agree with you on E6. Røros if going east and the ferries west of Trondheim if going west would be my recommendation. Anyway, thank you for visiting our country.

    Love the Journey, did most of it back in 1984 on a gsx750, would be interesting to do a vidoe on costings for the trip.

    • @stephenmundane
      @stephenmundane 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Me too. As for cost, my guess is "lots" even given the fact Nick has been camping. Then again, it's all relative I suppose...

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Time to do it again perhaps??? 😊 I didn't keep track of expenditure, I keep meaning to look at the credit card detail but was scared to do so. Biggest costs though would have been ferry from Harwich - Hook of Holland and fuel. I guess I should really figure it out some day "soon".

      When we went you could get the ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg then from Friedrickshaven to Gothenberg. We only went as far as Narvik, but the road from Narvik to Kiruna was under construction so we had to dodge diggers and bulldozers otherwise a lengthy journey back south from Narvik. Planning to go again in 2026 and reckon on at least £5000 for 4 weeks.@@bikingtravels

    As I recently got a CB500X I follow you closely and looking forward to summer when I can ride my own in Sweden. A little suggestion: In some situations your voice is very low and sometimes hard to understand, at least for a non-englishman, so please raise your voice a little.

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Many thanks for the comment and suggestion, I'm afraid I tend to mumble as I ride along. I'm trying to improve the sound quality in the edit. I hope you enjoy the bike as much as I do when you get back on the road next year

    It would be interesting if after this series you could do a video breaking down the cost of how much a trip like this would cost. It’s something I’d love to get into but honestly have no idea where to start 😂 great videos as always!

    Those campsites right next to the road seems to be annoying. All the cars driving nearly on your head...

      Thanks for the observation! When I remember to take a photo of what I eat (usually forget) I put a photo up. Generally, boil up some porridge with a coffee in the morning. Late morning snack of coffee and pastry then lunch at a cafe usually attached to a fuel station and quite often grab something from a supermarket (baguette etc) for my dinner. I also have snack bars etc. Basically, I "graze" each day 😀

    Not the most interesting episode Nick…. Bit of feedback:-the audio quality is somewhat ‘dull’, not always able to hear your ‘mutterings’!

    • @bikingtravels
      @bikingtravels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, had a similar comment about the sound, working on it for future episodes. I wasn't sure whether to even post this one as a standalone, I'm going to look at grouping some days together, but I enjoyed the actual day - just not much to show. Many thanks for the comment and feedback - noted.
