G&L guitars are Leo's best designs. Glad Sweetwater is carrying them now. The tributes are the best budget S or T type guitars on the market and the USA series are so good.

I also have an ASAT deluxe, it’s the most comfortable guitar I’ve ever owned and the coil tapping humbuckers enables you to sound both like a regular Tele and like it’s own guitar at the same time!
Got two of them in my studio and just bought one for a gift. Used to be a Fender devotee but these are just simply better!! I also looked at the Fender Tele Special Ash from GC as a comparison (I never really considered the Squire, because of the wood). But with G&L, not only am I getting the swamp ash body, but also the US made MFD pickups. I'll update my post after it arrives with my take on the overall guitar.

Everything I hoped for and more, because with G&L's set up and Sweetwater's 55 pt inspection, it plays like a dream out of the box, Now for the first time ever I didn't have to do anything but tune it up. I highly recommend this guitar and Sweetwater. BTW, my sales rep was Ian McGhee, a really good guy.

Bought a new Legacy Special in 1997 and it’s been a great instrument - versatile and very playable. At that time there were no “USA”, “Custom Shop”, “Tribute” designations. You just ordered your guitar and specified color, pick guard, neck, radius, fretboard (am I forgetting anything?). Mine was black with a pearlescent pick guard and a birds-eye maple neck. I’m pretty sure I paid about $800. When I took it to a lutheiern to make sure some changes were set up correctly he’s aid “this is a real modern Fender”.

How could you talk about G&L and not talk about PTB (Passive Treble Bass)? The two tone controls act as a 2 band EQ for all three pickups on the S series guitars; Legacy, Commanche and S-500. The top tone control is the treble cut/boost and the bottom control is the bass cut/boost. You can go from The Who's 'I Can't Explain' to Montrose 'Rock Candy' as the next song!
TruthGuitarMethod Leo Fender definitely has an interesting history. There are many ways you could go with a guitar history series. You’ll be amazed at some of the overlap between people who have worked for multiple companies and brought innovation to all the companies with which they were associated.
THAT HISTORY is unknown. So only buy a GnL for use, never sell again, price would free falling compared to Fender itself. Ridiculous. These are great instruments by GnL. I even had the electronic set up of ASAT Classic with MFD on a custom home made tele shape.

I have yet to play a modern day Fender that comes even close to how awesome these G&L guitars are.

Once you have a guitar with a bass rolloff knob, you'll wonder why all guitars don't have them. Reverend's do too
I modded my main guitar to have one. It's so nice having a passive 2 band EQ on your guitar.
