Sparky pro tips here boys and girls, I ramble on a bit had to cut some out 😂
I dont know how to put the timestamps in yet, but ill add some in the description here tonight 🤘
Who looked at the nail the whole time? 😂
superb assessment and demonstration of the use of each tool 10/10
I took it as initiative when there was absolutely nothing to do to practice stripping wires and gee practice makes perfect
Bought a roll of Romex just to practice this way of stripping, after about 40 tries I can reliably remove the jacket with only minor damage to the wires underneath, but I’m not getting better 😅 This is a lot harder than it looks
The good thing about the marvel cross cutters is that it cuts into the cable evenly. So you could just pop the white off with one pinch and ply 👍
Good vid mate. Your flukes seem sharper than mine. I’ll have to take a video and compare.
I also think your pinch cut marvels are sharper, I haven’t used it much though.
I’ve never heard anyone taking the sharpness off the cross cuts. But I’ll definitely be looking into that. I find it easier to strip with the red wattmaster and wiha cross cuts because they are just a little blunter.
Keep it up👌
Yeah man the de-tune is legit - hardly effects the cutting power but it makes them a little less temperamental- especially stripping the outer jacket. I lost a pair that had years of use on them and that dullness made them easier to use IMO. Fluke pliers/Sides were both under performers but their needle nose are my new favorites👌
One of my apprentice got the fluke pliers and they were blunt as.
@@WillmannElectricalthanks. What I learned is that arched cutting jaws are for stranded, and flat cutting edge is for romex solid core..and maybe a lot more durable because the blades dont over lap, and the cutting edge is roughly 90 degrees. Vs 45 degrees for the shear style overlapping jaws. Use the right tool for the right job..... And that's why you guys have many tools. Cheers.
The comfort grips are sooo good 👍 But the Marvels are best in this situation
Comfort grip marvel frankenpliers? 🤔😁
excellent video!! Which one has the sharpest cut in your opinion? I'm looking to buy the Marvel mrv200N. do you recommend it? cuts more than Knipex?
Nice video mate! Where do you get the cable with the cocaine in it? Asking for a mate 😂
Gunna practice your twist method because seems more efficient and less popey on the wrist
Dude, you havent included the clipsal stripping pliers, favorite for years
Marvels cross cutters are love; Marvels are life! Glad you're a fan mate, Whia & Crescent also make a model ;) The Wattmasters go alright also and they're owned by Klein Tools!
Just started using this technique to strip cable. Struggling a bit. My hands get sweaty so when I try to use my thumb as leverage the cable just slips through my hands and I can’t get the insulation off. Any tips for this 😂
practice makes perfect man, it takes a long time!
Hey mate great video! Can you go into more detail on what you do to the MVA’s to take all the edges off?
Thanks 🤟🏼
I busted my mvas a while ago but I didn’t like how sharp the blades were so I ended up getting the knipex bad boys. I’d love to use the marvels again as they are just so much smaller and sit in the hand better!
If you have access to a belt sander that would be easiest, if not a diamond stone is probly the next best idea. detune the cutting blades a bit also - they come waaaay to sharp. I finished up with some sandpaper with the pliers in a vice for a smooth all around finish 👍
Hi man, which tool do you use to make them not sharp?
the marvel pliers arent rated for 1000v which is what drove me to an alternative.
Are the yellow marvels considered insulated?
been looking for good pliers. bought a Wehi and handle started slipping off.
Awesome vid, cheers man
I'm sorry, the what in the cable 6:29? Where does one buy such cable?
😂
Just imported a pair af marvels from Japan. Can you believe these aren’t sold at all in Europe?
We usually cut and strip with 160mm sidecutters, though I’ve always used a small pair of cable shears!
nice mate! lemme know what you think of them
@@WillmannElectrical I quite like them. I do a lot of low volt wiring as a heating engineer. They’re no good for stripping our cable though, since our cables are round.
They shine at stripping and twisting the wires themselves though!
The good thing about the marvel cross cutters is that it cuts into the cable evenly. So you could just pop the white off with one pinch and push
They are also symmetric 👍
What’s your apprentice belting tally? The heavier the stronger the message right? 😂
hehe
Hallo,
dachte zuerst es geht um einen
üblichen Vergleich von gleiartigen
Werkzeugen,-also von Kombizangen.
gedachte Werkzeug verwenden,
Geschicklichkeit und Übung
bringen den Erfolg in vielen
Fällen ebenso.
Übrigens, ich bin kein Elektriker,
aber daß ist wohl zu erkennen.
Grüße
I wish we could get those Marvels here in America. Our termination methods are Very different 😅
Update: I was able to get a pair via eBay. Absolutely a joy to use
Oh awesome man, did they sting you for shipping?
@@WillmannElectrical surprisingly, not too bad. Total price of $53
Just wondering if you know that there are automatic stripping tools that is quicker and easier on joints?
There definitely are man and I have a bunch of them 😂 Thing to juggle is the weight your carrying vs the job for the day, If i was fitting off all day - new build house for instance - I would be using autostrippers but for a few outlets or plugbases i'll just use the pliers.👍
it’s good to know if you’re ever in a situation where you only have your linesman pliers
What is the best plas and can it be found in Pakistan
I am government lineman one servant water and power development authority
Very interesting, if you sharpen your teeth you wont even need pliers.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Kind've takes away the need for dedicated wire strippers. All in one pliers that are just plain linesmans.
Saludo,desde Cali Colombia.
Could you please make a video showing how you paint your nails ?? That would be more interesting than this boring one
You nicked the cable
Just cause you can doesnt mean you should.
I just noticed your thumb nail polish... LOL!
💅😂😂
🏳️🌈
That thumb just looks awful
