  • The Omega Seamaster Diver 300 - Ref. 2254.50 is so dang close to being perfect . Honestly... This might be the MOST perfect Omega Watch Ever Made. This is hands down my favourite reference of the Omega Seamaster catalogue - the ref. 2254.50. Released in 2000, this one still is the ONE for me and I wish Omega would go back to this design!!!
Sword hands, slimmer case, 3 link bracelet over the multi link. If this one could be updated, for 2024, with the same design language but upgraded movement and clasp... I would be sprinting to the Omega Boutique!
What do you guys think about this OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300?!

Bought mine 19 years ago as a 40th present to myself. A perfect balance of tool watch with good looks.
It will always be my favourite watch, with perfect legibility for my older eyesight 😂, and never to be sold. One day I'll gift it to my son.
    Pure class.

I bought one of these 24 years ago specifically for scuba diving. It's been all over the world with me and has never let me down. I can wear it on a dive and then to dinner with a tux and it still works. I get it pressure tested once a year and it's good to go. It's going to my son in a few years when he graduates college.

Auntie Britt!! Thanks for the awesome video of one of my favorite watches. the 2254 is definitely a watch that could occupy room next to my Tudors. But the 2254 does compete in my heart with the 2201.50 Plant Ocean. Your non-pretentious use of a technical term has me thinking of taking a week of from work, re-watching all your previous videos and authoring the unofficial Britt's technical watch dictionary. Agree with all her opinions, but Britt failed to mention that this was one of the last Seamasters with a quartz movement for those of us who wanted it as our daily 'beater'- also it was marketed as Pierce Brosnan & Sir Peter Blake's preferred dial - after 18 years think mine is a keeper!

This, the blue one, the white gold bezel one, the titanium, America's cup, 150th anniversary. Such an amazingly underrated (although prices have creeped up) group of neo vintage Omegas. They actually wear smaller than 41 in my opinion. The ultimate perfection is achieved once you mod the bracelet by adding an on the fly adjustable Omega clasp. Double chef's kiss.

I'm on my 3rd - the others in the past have been sold to fund other watches, but this one now has been with me for more than a decade, and was originally purchased by the previous owner from an AD in my home city of Nottingham - so that is an extra special part of my ownership. It is a 2010 watch, and it went for its first full service just a short time ago, and came back looking like new - although it now has some desk diving marks again on the clasp 😉
I can safely say it is a firm favourite in my collection and one of a trio of Seamasters I have. It will still with me unless the smelly stuff hits the air conditioning in a major fashion financially. I've found over the years that I NEED a date display on my watch, which is why I sold my Rolex no-date Submariner to fund the purchase all those years ago.

Great review. There was a time when this was my only watch…I’ve also reviewed it on my channel, but I found more faults with it. One of the biggest gripes is the unbalanced layout of the dial text…they should have put at the least the “Seamaster” name on the top half. I also didn’t care for the non-tapered bracelet. But I love how thin it was and I had no issues with the bezel. Thank you!

Thoughts on the bronze gold 234.92.41.21.10.001 ? To me, this is a great wearing watch feeling smaller on wrist, no helium escapement valve, classic styling, no date, no lollipop seconds hand, etc.

Nice review Britt, as usual. I have the GMT 2538.20 which pretty much has the same design but with a white dial and no helium valve at the 10, which to me has better symmetry 😉

Britt I agree with you on all points regarding the 2254.50. My problem is that I can’t get past the Helium escape valve crown.

The blue bezel Omega 2265.80 also comes with a quartz version, and it's also awesome to look at! 😊

This is definitely my favorite Seamaster variant for all the reasons you stated. I will say that I would put up with a bit of thickness if we got a new one with a co-axial movement. The Born Slippy bezel is probably my biggest issue with the line, but at the same time I am not one to mess with the bezel often. Thanks for taking a look at this watch. I definitely think you need to treat yourself with a 2262.50!

Got a question to all watch enthusiast... I always liked Omega Seamaster but since it is in very much the same price like Zenith el primero chronograph sport I've got a dilemma. Which one would you prefer and why?

Britt, I'm sorry but that absolutely works on your wrist, dive watches do have that smaller dial to bezel ratio which helps, and also more importantly the lug to lug doesn't extend beyond the flat of your wrist so actually looks good, but just my opinion. Imagine a re-issue with all the lovely modern specs but with that lovely design, we can hope!

I just looked at my wrist wearing an Omega Seamaster 300 Chronograph in Stainless Steel with 18k Sedna Gold, black dial on rubber strap... and thought, nah... I still love you 😂😂😂😂

To clarify, the modern helium escape valve represents a mini Reese's cup. Just got my first Omega 2 days ago, the silver bezel blue dial version (2255.80) of this watch. 😊

Brittney I have the 2230.50 non-AC as my daily driver
It’s the same as this reference aside from it having a white gold bezel

I'm saving up for the black bezel with the white dial. I'm going with last year's model because of the red writing on the Seamaster. The new model doesn't have much red accents, and I'm a sucker for the different color that pops on the dial.😅😅
