Some Japanese drugstores sell certain toys of an adult variety because they’re legally considered medical devices. I learned about it researching the country before visiting but thought I’d never encounter it. I did. Multiple times.

OMG 5:00 reminded me of the time I assigned a bellringer journal entry to my students in which they wrote for a few minutes about somewhere they would like to visit someday. When one kid read aloud about his interest in going to the island of Madagascar, a fellow teen told him, "She was asking about real places, silly!" In fairness, I can see how given all the unrealistic things that happened in the _Madagascar_ movies, she would have assumed Madagascar was as imaginary as the cartoon zebra singing about his circus afro. Plus it just this second occurs to me that if you didn't know that was a name of a real place, it would sound made up due to containing both the word "gas" and the word "car," not to mention the word "mad."

In regard to the people playing people much younger than they actually are, Cyndi Lauper plays a teenager in the video for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and does look relatively teenage in the video. She was 31 when they filmed it. Conversely, the cast of Saved By The Bell always struck me as looking older than high school kids at the time, but they were all indeed 16-18 when the show started.

OK, this shows how out of touch and insensitive I was, I thought it was really hard to believe when couples ages early 20s to mid 30s we’re all like we can’t get pregnant we try but it’s not happening, I would just be like what do you mean you guys are young and “healthy” Unless there’s an underlying issue on either sides or someone secretly is taking birth control/is fixed how is that not possible, and then I realized there’s so much toxic chemicals in every day things from the stuff that we eat drink, lotions, shampoos, no wonder people Becoming sterile, not to mention, miscarriages are a lot more common than I thought they were also.

We have this trash tv station in Germany. They have this show showing "real" police/ emts etc at work.
During the show the "police" etc use abreviations of things which are than explained in the subtitles for the audience. One of them was RTW for "Krankenwagen"( Ambulance) I always thought how stupid it was to make up dumb abreviations nobody would use in rl.
A few years ago I had to call an ambulance for an old lady who couldn´t get up anymore. So I was on the phone with 112 (German 911) and in the end of the talk the dispatch said to me he was gonna send out (in German) the RTW.
Turns out it was a real abreviation after all , lol

As I said in my own comment, the only reason they're conflicted is because one path means admitting that they don't deserve to have him as their friend by owning up to their transgressions, while the other involves them burying it and continuing a facade of trust and respect. If they didn't choose the first choice, then I hope he finds out on his own and kicks those people out of his life because he deserves better.

When I was a kid 11 / 12 my grandparents used to say "if you keep swearing I will wash your mouth out with soap", always thought it was an empty threat, I talked about it in school one day and to my horror I found out that some of the kids in my class actually had this done to them. 😅 Don't know if this a uniquely British expression and action or if this happens elsewhere.

Not even kidding when I say "the idea somebody as ludicrous as Donald Trump could get nominated as a candidate for president," let alone get elected in 2016. In May 2016 I was visiting in-laws in El Salvador and my BIL asked me about it. At the time, it was rather widely understood that nearly all the TV shows having him on we're doing it only because it was a lark and the laugh and they might as well enjoy it while they waited to see who would really get nominated. That's honestly part of how he got as far as he did: the people having him on as a joke unwittingly gave a lot of publicity to his bigoted ideas and ridiculous suggestions, little dreaming how they were going to catch on with a wide swath of the population who felt left out by political trends and thought a supposed billionaire was going to lift them up and help them out. Many of them still are under the impression he did, which is one of the saddest pieces of the puzzle.

4:00 🐝 Until I saw one with my own eyes when I went to North Carolina to look for an apartment for grad school, I thought all fuzzy bumblebees I saw in cartoons and such were simply a caricature of regular honey bees, just exaggerated in size. I had no idea bumblebees were real. They genuinely exist, they honestly do bumble up and down, and they really are fuzzy like that! (In my defense, there was no internet and no TH-cam back then, so unless they decided to make film or TV footage of such a thing for whatever reason and you happened to see it, there wasn't that much likelihood of you seeing anything in action if you didn't see it in your environment.)

    Thinking God was a myth.
One day I was driving home and I felt the presence of the Lord, come down to me from above. It was as real as anything and I felt so comfortable with Him and close to Him.
I knew if I asked Him to play a song on the radio, He would.
So I said "Ok Lord, play Come as you are..."
I didn't know what station it was on or anything, but I turned the radio on and the song started playing right on the spot, perfectly...
I started getting flooded with chills inside, trembling, and crying tears of joy. When I got home, He stayed with me for 10 minutes till I got out of the car.
I've been getting amazing prayers answered for around 6 years since, because that experience made me stop doubting when I pray, and I follow Biblical instructions, best I can.
That wasn't the first time He visited me, but it's one of my favorite experiences in this life.

@@censorshipsucks9493 Nirvana. They've been my favorite band since I was 11, but I asked in faith and my conscience approved. That is to say, I wouldn't have asked for just ANY Nirvana song.
A while after that happened though, I was watching a preacher on TH-cam and I felt this compassion come over me by the Holy Spirit, I believe.
So I prayed for him. "Father, I pray you double this man's ministry, double his finances, and double his marital life, in Jesus holy name. Amen."
The next day he released a new video. He was standing on stage for a bit, smiling. Then he said "The Lord has just doubled his ministry. He's doubled his finances and He's doubled his marital life...!!
My heart started pounding from shock, because I wasn't even thinking about how I prayed and he said my exact prayer from the night before.
Then a week or two later, another prayer like that was answered. It went on and on like that so much. It still happens.

I had a woman call me a couple years ago and she told me she was healed from schizophrenia after I prayed for her a long time ago.
We had a deaf woman at my other church who was healed by church prayer and can hear.
Last year, I told a co-worker 2 stories and asked if I could pray for him and he said yeah. I grabbed his hands and prayed for his family, finances, and things. I came to work 4 days later. He said he had gotten promoted to GM Manager over a bunch of different stores. Getting paid from 900 to 1600, max tips on reg, and his wife was getting insane overtime money. @@dc_latername9064 Prayer does work. However, we don't always get the answer we want. I've prayed for a promotion at work. I was just rejected again yesterday. The frustrating part isn't not getting it. The frustrating part is when they hire people not qualified over me. On the plus side those unqualified people aren't my bosses as the positions are in other units. Also I've been angry at God because he has not cured my depression. The truth is barring his intervention there is no cure. You can only manage it, and every med they've giving me does just a little good, but it's still there lurking.
