Wow ! What a great tutorial. Not only does my washing machine not shake anymore but my pickup is getting way better mileage. Thanks Meike! Easy-Peazy Just so sleezy.
But the most important aspect of starting a project of this scope is at 2:04 when you see what's the booty. Absolutely critical to have the proper perspective on that.
I like lamps 2 & 3. Those remaining bubbles in the resin can be eliminated by using a vacuum chamber to remove the bubbles before pouring. It should be crystal clear after that, though I also appreciate slight imperfection in a piece, especially since it can give it character (much like the wood makes it unique). Thanks again for sharing this project with us!
Meike, whenever you cut a branch off a tree you should make a shallow undercut so that when you cut through the bough and it drops off, you don’t tear the bark at the bottom of the cut, which can be an entry point for disease. It looks better too!

Mate the thumbnail is made for exactly that reason. Without that thumbnail the video would have a couple thousand views. I wouldn't be here. I honestly clicked on it wondering if she actually could make something. And she can, but it's not really woodworking, and even pouring the epoxy is full of bubbles. So yeah, lucky she has the looks and doesn't mind using them lol.

Awesome process. I like all of them-number three caught my attention though, possibly because of the color. Awesome craftsmanship and creativity...very great journey to watch 👍
I am familiar with the model of drill press you are using and your problem likely isn’t power but belt slippage. Move the motor back further. Common problem. Love the show.
Great project. Thank you for sharing your creativity. If you want to reduce the air bubbles I'd use the power sander on the side of the molds to help shake them to the top. My vote is on lamp #2 as my favorite, although #1 comes in a close 2nd place.
Clever and artistic use of resin. One piece of advice: You might want to be careful about holding items by hand when using large diameter bits in the drill press. The problem is that if it catches, your reflexes won't be able to release your grip fast enough to avoid possible injury to your wrist etc. At least the belt drive on your press seems loose enough to slip at higher speeds. On lower speeds there is more torque which can be dangerous. Sometimes a big 'F' clamp will give you enough leverage to safely hold objects while drilling them. I speak from experience leaned the hard way!
