Long story short. I live in Scandinavia left the car 2 weeks out in cold due to vacation came back blower did not work. checked fuse and basic electrical nothing worked. Saw the video followed exact steps (except used wd40 due to unavailability of oil type) turned on the car and switched on the blower viola!!! works like a charm. Though video is 5 years old the car was older so still same system :) Thanks mate and Yo Bazzoh you are the man! hats off too you saving me time and money
To anybody who has this kind of problem (like me - note: mine is a E87). In most cases, the noise is due to a bad lubrification of that part: note that you can see and reach that part just removing the cabin air filter (just unscrewing 6 crews) and using a 20cm straw for the spray lubrificant. It is quite enough, if the fan is not stuck. Thanks to the author of this video, because I woundn't have been able to recognize the part without haven't seen the video before.
I had the same problem (which led me to your video). I was watching whilst sitting in the car with the heaters on and no air being blown. I got to the point where your fan started working and I shit you not ... mine began working again!! Magic!! Thanks
Mate this has worked for my e87. I paid for it regassing and it didn’t fix the issue. I decided to check TH-cam today... the day before I have it booked in!! You star
Hey Chap, I know this Vids been about for a while but I wanted to add my thanks also! Mine stopped mysteriously yesterday and after only 7 mins of your Vid and then 10 mins in the car footwell I’m all good again! Many thanks indeed 👍🏻
Many thanks! It worked for me like a charm. The only thing is I used a plastic to move the rotor just to avoid any short-circuits. Thanks a million again!
I've got the exact same problem with my 2004 e87 1 series, I'll try this tomorrow and will post results to let you all know if this is a fix for me too! :) Thanks in advance Edit: worked a charm! :) Thanks a bunch buddy

Mine just stopped working this morning it was blowing fine to begin with, but then all of the sudden it just stops and get all silent so imma for sure try this when I get off work I hope it works 🙏🏽
I did today exactly like that and was start working but then I put cover back try again and didn’t work again 😥. I repeat the process but not luck . Any idea ?
Good job buddy! Mine is just very squeaky (drives me nuts) and I would like to try adding some of that 3 in 1 before replacing the whole unit. Thx for sharing the video. #imaginebysp
I don't think so as the parts exposed are just the magnets and electric coils which are insulated in any case. The electronics that control speed, etc are likely housed in the control unit in the centre column. However, in saying that, I did a quick search online and there are oils that are specifically designed for electric motors so I would suggest purchasing those. Other oils can cause excessive wear of the motor. Since I posted this video 3 years ago it has worked fine and I haven't had to lubricate again.

Won't the oil interfere with the electronics inside that thing?

@@Bazzoh Nice man. Thanks.
Thanks. My was stuck2.
merci à toi le garagiste voulait me faire commander une résistance de ventilation alors que c'était juste sa
how long does this method last
I'm not sure, sorry. I haven't had any problems since posting this video though.
Sadly my motor was too siezed up for this to work, but replacing it cost £100 for the part (brand new) and removing it is 90% of this video.
Thanks, I'm glad it helped. It's good to know you can actually replace the motor without taking the whole dashboard out.
hepled thanks
I owe you a pint
Thank you that’s video was really helpful
