If you really want a hassle free way to get to any ski resort in the Nagano area, Chuo Taxi is the best and only way to go. You book on line, google Chuo Taxi, give them all your details and flight number and the driver will wait for you at the airport when you walk out of customs. They will take you in a mini van directly to your hotel accommodation, price is about $170.00 Aussie per head, or there abouts. It takes about 4-5 hours and he stops twice for a break at truck stops. I have been using this service for the last 12 years straight, except for covid period.

How was it taking luggage

Ideally you can send bags to your accommodation with Yamato transport (black cat). There are a spaces for large luggage, even ski bags can fit. It can be a bit of a pain but you can do it.
