I’m the caller. It’s 20k on a consolidation loan and my truck is paid off. I’m also cash flowing college for my sister and myself. So yeah, 117k before taxes in New York City isn’t a lot.
I'm on the way to pay off my car within this year. Not worth selling it to buy something else to keep wanting to get back to the same car again down the road. I love my car!

Are you using the truck for work? Do you even NEED a truck? I am amazed (as a person who has owned work trucks for nearly fifty years) that so many folks today own trucks. Whatever for? Do they carry anything in them or tow something with them or is it all for show? I guess trucks have become the Detroit road yachts.
Why do you care what other people choose to drive? As it pertains to the popularity of trucks in North America, trucks are popular because they do everything well. You can use your Silverado High Country or F-150 Platinum for work during the day and then park it outside an expensive downtown restaurant later that evening. While most customers don't actually use their trucks for hauling or towing duties, a truck still remains very useful for the average customer (e.g., trips to the The Home Depot, transporting large items such as BBQs and furniture, driving in snow conditions, etc.). And if you're a numbers person, there's no denying that trucks maintain a higher residual value than sedans.
I literally can't imaging not owning a truck. Buying plywood? Put it in the truck. Helping a friend move? Put the furniture in the truck. Going camping? Take the truck. Towing a boat? Take the truck. Buying trees and mulch at the nursery? Take the truck! If you are a residential homeowner, a having a truck is a huge advantage.
Early on i had the impression that trucks kept their value much longer than cars and i think i am right. That is the reason i buy them, and they come in handy for hauling items.
As a homeowner, I find myself renting u-hauls or a friends truck (if available) for things I can’t fit in the Sienna. I.e. Going to the dump, getting 2nd hand furniture, items to maintain the yard or house etc
