Over on Two Old People On A Couch TH-cam channel we just talked about Charcuterie. I’m lead dancer and the girls had lead dancer appreciation day for me and had a charcuterie spread for me in the Zen room. I love my dancing girls!!!!!
You're very welcome! Glad this was helpful :) If you ever get a chance I would also love your feedback on my blog, it really helps me a lot :) Thank you!
Unfortunately haven't had the time to get to the supermarket yet... guess I probably will do it on my mum's birthday on 25th Dec... Merry Christmas to you in advance🥂
That is a great idea! Actually, I had decided to do this for New Year’s Eve instead of cooking a regular dinner or ordering out. Because it is just me I am going to assemble mine on a glass cookie platter decorated for the holidays. It will be on a much smaller one but the left overs will be for lunch over the following days. Thanks so much for this video!
Thanks for listing all the cheeses and everything you used in making your cheese board. You make me want to ran out to the store to buy my ingredients.🤗🤗
I will make a cheese board for Christmas; I will make a vegetable "Christmas tree" with dip on the board. This will be my first charcuterie board to prepare and my husband had made me a large round cutting board which I will use on my kitchen counter along with some tiered rustic boards my husband made for me; so there will be different levels. I will also have a dessert board. I got some ideas from this video; thank you!!.
I know this is an old video...but for any new people like me who find it, I thought I'd add that "charcuterie" isn't really a "cheese" board. Charcuterie means "cooked flesh" so this is really a MEAT board. The meats are most important. The cheeses and other goodies are actually just there to play second fiddle to the meats...so make sure you get a variety of those too.
I'm doing the 3-3-3 method because I don't need a huge plate. I got a wedge of parm, some mild cheddar and a spreadable goat cheese. I got turkey sticks (my store doesn't have any fancier meats), salami and summer sausage. I also got honey roasted cashews, some dried apricot's and I'm making onion jelly. i think I'll also add some of those pimento olives I have in my fridge. I watched this so I know how to set it up pretty. This will be my first board.
Thanks for the charcuterie board tutorial.... Created one for my wife's BD!! Posted it in my latest TH-cam post. Gave you a shoutout in the comments, and posted a link to this video in the description!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
Beautiful spread. This charcuterie board can be scaled down as well for an intimate affair with that special one. Or as a glamorous setting for one binge watching shows. Well at least for me. 🤗
I'm working on a smaller version of a Charcuterie Board, for just two of us, for New Years Eve nibbles through the evening tonight. Problem is, "my eyes are bigger than my stomach", and I'm continually adding more and more goodies so (quantity-wise) it's starting to look like the one you assembled in this video! Very difficult to scale it down, when you provided not only such a wonderful example but motivation to "do it right". Thanks so much!
Glad you loved this charcuterie board video Ed! Yes that would be a problem lol, I hope you find a good compromise for your quantity! :) Let me know how it goes :)
That looks amazing! Great job! When I host dinner guests and they ask to bring something, sonetimes ill tell them to grab their favorite meat or cheese. Then when I have a nice collection I make a board and invite them back to watch a movie. This helps defeat the cost and it ensures there is a variety and something for everyone. People look forward to movie night and I make champagne punch with it
Thank you :) I don't recommend making this too far in advance. You can make it the day before with the meats and cheeses. Just cover them with plastic wrap in the fridge. The fruits and crackers would be best before you serve this charcuterie board :)
Coming from Argentina, I'm not a big fan of honey and other sweet spreads, as well as fruit, together with your cheeses and cold cuts. However, this boards looks amazing and it gave me inspiration to arrange the diferent items next time I entertain.
Wow! This goes far beyond the water crackers and soft bar cheese of the '70's! ...along with the Strawberries and separate bowl of powdered sugar, pretzels and chips. Not for the faint of heart!
Hi :) Thank you! Glad you liked the presentation and set up :) Hard to say for how many people this Charcuterie board will serve. This is a larger size board and will accommodate a large gathering. So if you are having a smaller group you can decrease the quantities or remove whichever ingredients you don't want :) It also depends on if there will be other food since this is more for snacking/appetizers. It will go faster if there is no other food. This particular charcuterie board cost me $250. However, it is a large board and a lot of food. It also depends on where you get you ingredients. Some of these cheeses and meats were pricey and from an expensive store. Hope that helps clarify :) Hope you get a chance to make a charcuterie board :)
Looks wonderful I’m attempting my first board , The link to the board isn’t working Amazon says page can’t be found can you tell me the size of your board, thanks
Fromage D'Affinois is my absolute favorite cheese. It's amazing with preserves. It's a bit pricey, but I will just eat a wedge by itself. It's the fanciest thing I ever eat and now I want some.
This was a beautiful and straight forward video, thank you! Can we add smoked salmon to the board? Edit: creating charcuterie boards looks fun and I’m excited to be trying my first on Memorial Day weekend for a farewell party!
Apparently you can just add whatever you want. This isn't charcuterie anyway, charcuterie is just meat, it literally translates to cooked flesh. This is a mixed platter, I don't know why people are calling it charcuterie, must be an American thing. It looks good, but it makes no sense to call it charcuterie as that has nothing to do with cheese or fruit or jams or olives or whatever, just the meats.
Where in Portland can you get that salami? I'm doing a charcuterie board for my daughters wedding and the wedding is in Portland so I could use some places you shop. Wish me luck!
Hi, I am not too familiar with Portland so I am not sure what stores they have in comparison to Seattle. Best of luck to you and your daughters wedding.
You can place everything but the nuts and crackers and keep wrapped (with plastic wrap) in the fridge. Then add crackers and nuts on the day of serving.
Thank you Chelsea! I love Stonewall kitchen fig jam or the Fig galaxy jam. I also love Bonne Maman brand as well. All these jams are available on amazon if you can't find them at your local grocery store or any other high end grocery store.
You can prepare it the day before but I wouldn't prepare to far in advance. You can prepare the meats and cheeses then cover with plastic wrap in the fridge. Some things are best served right before you serve the charcuterie board. Like fruits and crackers. Hope you love your charcuterie board! :)
I do love it 🤩 thank you for great ideas and tutorial 😁 I am going to make it for my baby shower 👶🏻 can I ask for the size of the board please ? The link doesn't work unfortunately, thanks 😊
You are very welcome! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I use a 18x24 inch board. That is a large board and can feed a large party. I will check on the link. Thank you! :)
I have been watching charcuterie videos for a couple of days. THIS IS THE BEST ONE HANDS DOWN. yes Wow Wow Wow!!!!!

Thanks for listing all the cheeses and everything you used in making your cheese board. You make me want to ran out to the store to buy my ingredients.🤗🤗
You're welcome! You can use anything you'd like you don't have to use the exact ingredients as me😊
i just watched a second time so i could write down an ingredient list! But i did make a few changes lol. 200 dollars later....

Thank you for explaining everything new to charcuterie!✨

Looks great. What are the dimensions of the board. I have a live board and i find it quite useless lol as it is too big to store in the fridge.
Hi Cindy, my board was 24x18 inches. This is definitely on the larger end of a typical charcuterie board.
