Good Morning. since it has no baking powder or baking soda as leavening agent in this recipe, hence, no worry of chemical reaction between baking soda & salt, you can use either one - salted or unsalted butter. In this recipe, i used unsalted butter in order to stand out the sweet in the Nutella, as you can see no additional sugar is added in this recipe. Have a nice day. Thank you
