@@randommadness1021 same. I was caught off guard by the price. But it’s like 400 pages. So I bought. It will give me sometimes to read in the evenings .
I’m sure the areas you have highlighted that have not been covered or indeed been skirted over could be covered in a second volume. Thank you for covering this book on your channel (very interesting)
This seems like a really good book that I might pick up soon. Only disappointment is the lack of info on disc detainer locks since I live in Finland so the better locks available to buy tend to be from Abloy. Not a big issue since it will be a while before I'm ready to look at even the Abloy classic, nevermind the newer locks.
I have whole books on some of the topics. For example, the factory training manual for Medeco is about as long as this book. Certainly, a book on safe manipulation could be as long as this book or more. As you say, there are more locks to explore like the digital locks for doors and safes. Nice review.
I recently ordered this book on Amazon and cannot wait for it to arrive. I am sure it will give me a much better understanding on locks and how to pick them Thanks for uploading the video Keep up your great work 🔥
Wow, what a ride through the book. I wished You spent a bit more time on at least some details, but i am very grateful for You presenting it. Thanks, Ash.
The fundamentals on picking pin tumbler locks is very detailed. Definitely great for beginners. I wish it had more info on high- and ultra high security locks. There are no mention of really challenging type of security driver pins such as barrel pins, gins, shark fin, torpedo and christmas trees 🌲 and how those make picking a lock more difficult. The book just mentions lock mechanisms such as the one found in medeco and mul-t-lock, but doesn't go into details on how to defeat these locks. 😢 So, yeah not much info on anything above lpu green belt locks. Anyways the book is still worth reading. The safe cracking and key impresionning parts were completely new information to me.😅

I was a bit surprised by the price as well. Is it just a rehash of what's out there with "famous" names attached to it. Can you give an update now that you've had a month with it?
@grokfro I wouldn't say it's a rehash of what's out there, there's obviously bits that are out there in the book, it is a training book after all. But there's loads of new stuff in there too and had this book been around when I first started picking, I would've saved a fortune. Just having it all, and I mean it ALL in the one book is brilliant. Probably worth the price with everything that's in it.
I am definitely impressed with this book. As is indicated by the title, it has a strong emphasis on LOCKSPORT and even covers the psychology aspects (e.g. being nervous in a competition.) The section on safes is particularly intriguing and even though I am fairly sure I shall never try anything out, I always enjoy increasing my (theoretical) knowledge. Yes, there are thousands of videos on lockpicking on the internet, but it is nice to have a physical book to peruse - it contains many useful brand names and subjects which one can put into a web search. I'm definitely glad I bought a copy.

You want a Lishi lock pick for doing cars, it needs ti be able ti do your make of car and there is a lot. You won't ever be able to start your car with them though. That's a whole new topic.
@ColtonRMagby You can still pick the door locks with Lishi picks if you have the correct pick for your vehicle model. @ColtonRMagby Agreed. Lishi is overpriced in my opinion. They are a lot better if you actually know how to use them though. Loads of videos make it look like you can open any lock in under 2mins which as I'm sure you are aware, isn't that simple unless you're the LPL.
