Been using this mod for a minute. Suddenly I find myself not closing the game immediately on sight of Caretaker or Escort Duty anymore, goddamm miracle of a mod
These two are the favourite missions of me and my team, but I heard from my friend about how tedious escort duty can be solo. My opinion is that solo shouldn't be taken too much into account in this fundamentally multiplayer game. I don't really think these assignments are a problem for too many players and need a fix in the base game, but I guess modding is a perfect solution for those who don't enjoy those types of missions. On escort duty, we think the drilling sequence might be the best part of the mission, and see refueling as completely unnecessary. I wouldn't mind if they made the drill-by defence longer, to the point of needing most of your ammo, but completely removed the oil shale, as long as there's still enough nitra to collect on the way. A simple rest stop could work instead: "the wave is thinning out. the drilldozer will stop so you can collect resources and resupply. push the button when you are ready to resume drilling"
I don't see sabotage nor escort as different from any other mission type. The seeming dislike for sabotage always confused me, especially since it really doesn't take any longer than the average time for missions in my experience, I always saw it as a bandwagon sort of reddit echo chamber opinion. With that said people will always have their preferences (which is fine), I wouldn't be opposed to having a choice of two missions for each stage of an assignment kind of like the performance point ones. That way you would be less likely to feel forced into a mission you don't really want to do which would also allow people to dodge modifiers they don't like.
I think people don’t mind the hacking sequences and the caretaker fight is ok, but the setting up of the nodes for hack-c and the invuln phases for the caretaker can feel a little tedious. Also Escort, while it has been improved, is not a mission which can be sped up with player skill so it feels a little hand-holdy at times. The great thing with DRG is you can explore the caves at your own pace but here you are at the mercy of a slow payload moving. Again this is less about the mission type itself and more the frequency at which it appears in the assignments
@@cubefather Completely agree regarding escort duty, it's my least favourite because it limits exploration and the failure state can feel bad. For others though escort and sabotage could be their favourites and would like to dodge point extraction for example. I reckon a choice could be really nice, not sure how feasible it would be though, I'm just a DRG enjoyer not a modder/dev.

If you want my personal opinion, I have escort and sabotage as my least favorite because I find boss fight missions are repetitive. Sabotage + Escort + Elimination are my three least favorite mission type to do.
The thing about assignments is, since everyone is doing the same, it funnels players together, meaning it's much easier/faster to fill out a lobby. Like it takes 2 min. That's especially relevant if you're outside North America or Europe.
I would have escord and sabo count for more progress by having to reach points similar to a season pass and long missions count for more. Would also reward more for an elimination mission that gained 1 more mission length since last mission cycle.
I think industrial Sabo is the easiest mission available. Albeit the longest. They've upped the spawn rate of nitro due to the fight at the end which makes you comfortable for ammo even on haz 5
I have always wanted another Boss battle, for example of the Dreadnought queen. Perhaps the management will send the dwarves more powerful versions of the weapons to make it easier?
OMg this. I think half the missions i've done in the assignments in the last 3-5 of them were sabotage and escort. Does the game know mining expedition or egg hunt exist?
Sabotage has shown so much that I started to solo it in hazard 2 and fatboy my way out of it as quickly as possible. Karl would not be proud, but I'm not Karl.
its always mini-mules and drilldozer for me. i dont get why they come up so often but its slowly been driving me crazy. theres not a single assigment where they dont show up. ive come to really dislike both those mission, especially since they require so much waiting around
Will other people see the assignment as the one required for their own promotion and join me? Or am i going to play all alone on a mission that nobody needs (because that's not their promotion assignment, they actually need sabotage, not whatever is seeded)?
i kinda like escort duty and sabotage, but i like when its every 5 or even 6 mission, but lately its very common mission type in assignment. And with that frequency its feels not that interesting and way to much repetitive (especially escort)
In my opinion it depends if you play solo or you play with people, of course in the second case the missions are a lot faster to complete. I don't have any problem playing any of the in solo. But... I think the new assigment "deep scan" is one the most time consuming and sometimes most annoying to complete in solo. The cave generation for this one is very strange... Sometimes feels like a maze... And literally you have to explore every room and tunnel from the cave to find the crystals with the driller and scout it's not so bad, but at the final stand of the drilling deeper part they are not so effective as the gunner or engineer to defend the drillevator. and I don't know but I feel like in this type of mission the events and cosmetics are even more rare than usual. I don't hate this mission, but god... It's just so much time consumed for sometimes lose if you can't resist the final part by your own with scout or driller that are the ones that can clear this mission in a reasonable time. That I think is the biggest problem with some missions in solo. some classes clear some missions with any effort, but choose the wrong class for a mission that he is not effective and you are cooked. But that is just my opinion. 🗿
I don't know if i am just lucky or you have shit cave generation, but i complete this mission at reasonable pace of around 10 minutes on 3 resonance crystals and both driller and scout have advantages on drilevator part, scout can snipe long range bugs and kill bugs in close range with secondary, while driller can easily halt entire progress of hord to maintain drill and then fight bugs on geode level
the problem isnt the length or the complexity of the mission, the assignment itself is the problem assignment is mission quest, the rewards must be = average player's time spend playing + how numerous the assignments in the game but currently, the rewards is low = lots of time spending + the assignments is to numerous not only assignment task need to be removed in some parts like beyond red 3 star promotion (still give rewards or instant promote [still need to pay]), some assignments can just be shorter like weeklies, or a lot more rewarding for unlocking something new / calendar events, etc etc etc - most grey beards already knew that the devs are to scared +/ not engage much on progression + gameplay balancing on DRG, they only engage more in the fun part while themself using devs tools, and their DRG stream on youtube just to show they're having fun, not actually being good at the game or analyzing the game itself i know this game at the end of the day is actually a fun social game, a very perfect live service game, but they forgot the grind progression + weapon balancing (pgl, autocannon, etc you name it) will make green beards go DRG devs once tried to make DRG like average live service game, but they abandon the idea mid way, now they dont know what make the game successful beyond the memes they make and the pure grind but free battle pass + skins luck wont run the business for long, DRG devs need to awake, look at their surrounding, and analyze the situation more - if DRG devs reading this, please, not only play your game, progress the game itself without devs tool! feels like how your players progress in your game yourself, then decide i already send my suggestions based on my experience after 2k hours gameplay, now you find it yourself somewhere, dont want to repeat again DRG still good ngl, but again, luck wont run business, what is valuable in your product based on your costumer IS the thing that run the business
I definately think the "boss battle" style missions (sabo, escort, elim) should be saved for the end of assignments, since they feel very climactic.
I hope they eventually give you a range of missions to choose from, so if you like sabotage you can pick it and if not you can avoid it.

I love them as they are, yes they are time consuming but they are still enjoyable on haz 5+
I like the missions too they just appear too much in assignments, it’d be nice to do them a couple times a week max rather than much more than that

Chances are these missions will also be in other people’s assignments even without the mod
I'd love this, are there any downsides to running this mod tho? Idk how approved mods work exactly, can I still earn achievements by doing this
Approved mods will pause achievements unless you’re using Mod Integration - so if you want achievements I’d get them first and then install the mod!
