What a surprise this is. Legitimately one of, if not the best animated show I have ever seen. Quality from the first episode to the last. Can't wait for season 2.
I'm hard-pressed to think of anything that's explicitly "better" at all. The organic and detailed psychological behaviors, the consistency of event and consequence. The balance of perspective, and the realistic pacing and structure of dialogue. I just plain can't think of anything that does it better. Not in almost 50 years of watching movies and shows. And although it's kind of been excessively hyped as well, the only other thing like it is Andor. Loki is very much up there too, but I think Loki is just a bit too wild in its premise. Still an amazing show, but just a bit too Dr. Who for my tastes (I don't like Dr. Who). In fairness, that's not to say there aren't plenty of other movies and shows I still enjoy, even some that are objectively and genuinely good. But just the sheer general quality of Arcane and Andor, and even Loki too, is just way beyond almost anything else. The makers of those three, very definitely, "understood the assignment," as they say.
It's pretty upthere for sure. In term of animated show, I have trouble deciding between Avatar the Last Airbender and Arcane as top one. Arcane does have better animation, but the story and the character of AtLA, especially past mid season 2 are just great.
@@emmanuelmartindale8309 It just means they aren't good in the same way. Sure Avatar has more episodes, but some of them are fillers, while most of them are very good. The animation is very good, in different ways, in both show. The fact that over 3 seasons of avatar there are only a handful of episodes that I don't really care for means that they made a lot of good stuff, most if not all the characters have a solid development. The format, the era the came out, the target audience of both series being different also make the comparison hard. To me, they're both up there. We'll see how Arcane S2 goes, hopefully they keep it as good !
I love how everyone who watches the first two episodes are like "not bad..." and then episode 3 happens and every single episode from there on out gets better and better and they get completely obsessed.

@@ninjatoriumnova2483 They're such masters! Honestly by far the most visually stunning animation style I've seen. I've always disliked the modern look of pixar, disney etc so I really dig this painterly 3d look that is becoming popular past few years. Best of both worlds
Just found this channel based off of this reaction, always glad to see new people introduced to this masterpiece of a show. Fun fact! This show is one of the few (as far as I know) animated works that has gotten a full 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. And that's saying something for a critic website that is notorious for being incredibly, well, critical.
Holy molly, this is going to be good. Prepare to be hurt, because you will be during this astonishing first season. It is without a doubt one of the best seasons of television ever made. That it is animated and is built around a game that many dont know about, just show how masterfully crafted it is. You will care about all the characters and that is why there are some gut wrenching moments. Remind me after episode 3 and 7
Arcane is literally perfect start-to-finish. Some people might personally not enjoy some aspects, as with anything in the world, but looking at it from an objective point of view, it's literally flawless.
Usually when someone says something like this, I'm like, "yeah, but not _really_ ." But with Arcane, what would I actually want to change? Like, I've seriously given this several hours of thought at this point, and there isn't a single wasted beat of the show, imo.

League is a game with a lot of lore but not much story since it's a competitive multiplayer game. The writers took the lore and created an incredible show that anyone could watch without knowing anything about the game, which is an amazing achievement.

I don't feel like this is talked about enough but Hailee Steinfeld is a crazy talented performer. Vi is her 3rd official voice acting gig, along with all the other stuff she has already accomplished in acting and music.
Her work in "True Grit" is unparalleled. There are very very few young actors who could've pulled that off. My only hope is that she keeps acting and accepting challenging roles, for Hollywoods sake
Arcane isent based on a video game necessarily but its based on the history/lore of a video game called League of Legends. At first there was nothing other then just a few lines of text describing very basic information about the champions u could play in the game, Over time as more and more information got added from the demand of the fans the world started to get bigger and bigger and different regions within the world got more fleshed out how it looks, how ppl live, what they belive in, what champions live in what regions and so on to the point that now we have 2 entire continents aswell as some offshore islands with multiple different regions with there own storys that goes back 1000´s of years. Arcane is set in 1 of those regions called Piltover (top city) and Zaun (under city). I dont know how mutch u have pre recorded if any but try looking at the season as a short trilogy and by that i mean that episode 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 are major arcs in the story and are mutch more important when looked together over lets say each episode individually. Each episode individually is near perfection but when looking at them in sets of 3 it will really blow u away.
I noticed we didn't see Welcome to the Playground or Imagine Dragons. Im hoping they're not cutting out scenes with the songs for copyright reasons 😭 the bridge fight with the watch and fireworks later on.. I HAVE TO SEE THE REACTION. Like just overlay it with Mii music 💀 because it's one of the best parts of the season. So sad if that's the case because the song makes it so impactful
When you watch this series, you don't think of it as animation. You look the characters and hear the dialogue it makes you believe you are watching real people on the screen, and the voice acting is so amazing you actually feel their emotions.
Not really an adaptation so much as loosely taking a few vague paragraphs of lore, voicelines, music videos, cinematics, comics and fan theories that eventually got confirmed and taking it in a new direction from there!
Arianna saying she can't handle more emotions...maybe this isn't for you then. This is maybe one of the best shows I've ever seen but it is emotions. Get your tissues ready.

All i have to say about this show is, WOW. Im a league of legends player (this show is based in the universe/lore), and the tone switchup Riot made with this show apart from the game is amazing.
I can't believe you haven't seen Arcane, mostly because I started following most of the reaction channels I follow because of that series, so now I don't remember how I started following you guys (probably because of Avatar). The first two chapters are more introductory, of the characters, the world, etc. And then it all explodes. The series had both public and critical acclaim, in fact at the time it became the most watched Netflix series worldwide, beating out The Squid Game, so rest assured you won't be disappointed (and prepare to cry).
I've rarely ever watched animated television and this show is top 3 for me all time despite only having 1 season so far. Also you should definitely leave more music in the edit since it's copy write free and the best parts of the show include music.
To confirm for you - yes, Arcane is based on a video game(League of Legends), but you really don’t need to know anything about it. In fact most League players will recommend not looking into or playing it. 😂 Hope you enjoy the series! It’s an amazing ride from start to finish and is one of my favorite seasons of anything.

its based on league of legends which isnt a story game but the characters have lore so the show takes a couple of characters (not all cause there are like 100+ characters in LoL) and expands on their lore, i've never played league myself but i've watched a couple streamers play it before and seeing the characters in the show evolve into the characters in the game is so cool
