    Very interesting layout. Your track plan is well-balanced and this shows up in your numerous operation videos. It has a kind of universal appeal making it "prototypical" without having to replicate a specific location. I can easily imagine this track plan used for several other locations or industries (in fact, I found out my paper mill layout has a very similar track plan which was based on a real life industry). This is interesting because it proves, once again, that one doesn't need a sprawling layout to get a rewarding and realistic project. Given this layout was put together in quite a fast way, it has quickly brought you a lot of fun. Thanks for taking time to share your work, you are a positive inspiration to many people in this hobby. Keep up the good work!

      Thank you Matthieu.. kind words :-) True, that despite drawing influence from a particular industrial park in Mass, the location of Greenville (and the name) are purposefully pretty generic until I really pin down where the Yellow Pine operates!

    Just wanted to say thanks for motivating me. I've watched this (and all your other videos) countless times and building my Mog-inspired switching layout. Great lighting, nice editing, and a lovely voice to go with it (in the videos where you speak). I hope you are well. Sincerely, your YT stalker.

      Thanks Stalker! I shall watch with interest.. I am in between layouts at the moment, having retired Greenville and waiting for the right idea for the next one!

    Love them MP15's and yours is especially realistically weathered. Really enjoyed.

    New here and starting to really enjoy the switching aspects of model railroading. Only hurdle is leaving S Gauge for HO. My 68 old hands aren't as steady as they were before.
    Keep the videos coming and the freight a rolling. ♥️🚃ING.

    once again another really great video.. as others have commented..I too really enjoy and appreciate the printed narration of the moves. It engages us to watch more intently rather than just watch train movements leaving us guessing what will happen next. Tom

    One might suspect that somebody at Arendt Distribution will be frustrated when they discover that the BREX boxcar didn’t show up today…
    Great little video!!

    • @moghobbystuff
      @moghobbystuff  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rmunk84 oh yeah! Bob, the conductor, got pulled into the office this morning and the air was blue! He had a bad day, wrong hopper for Petar Feeds, a missing pickup boxcar and failed to move the brex car to Arendt! (In his defence, it's a rare movement and most cars at Midland transload are pickups. Thanks for watching so diligently :-)

    Nice on Martin. Loved the operating session. Bet that amount of work feels just right for an operating session too!

    Nice weathering on the boxcar and the gangster graffiti on the factory is a nice touch. GP40's were good and powerful locomotives for their time at 3000 horsepower. Lots of them still around, mainly downgraded to local switching freights and yard work. Guess what they've replaced in switching duty? MP15's, though lots of them are still around also. You have some wonderful, positive scenery...nice green grass. I like that!

    RSR 106, one of several locomotives destined to be modeled by myself since I am modeling the Rochester & Southern along with others, and live where they interchange with Norfolk Southern. Check my channel for some videos of the real railroad switching. Sadly RSR 106 is now BPRR GP40-3 3103 but is assigned to the Rochester & Southern and is in I believe one of my videos.

    nicely done, amazing program to make de switch schedule. where can i find that program? or the name?

    Very nicely done.. If I may? That Milwaukee covered hopper should have been returned to the yard since it was apparently misrouted according to the message at 0:52. If it was empty and the load was heading toward its home rails then the conductor could use it. The majority of the conductors I've worked with would got permission before using that car-this was a CMA thing.

      Hi.. a few mistakes on that session.. a rookie crew ;-) Good to know though a bit more about the protocol for the future.. thanks

    Horn signals are:
    1 blast = Stop
    2 blasts= Forward
    3 blasts= Reverse
    If you DON'T believe me, look it up. I'm sure your sound machine can be programmed to that configuration...

    • @moghobbystuff
      @moghobbystuff  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Gregg..no reason not to believe you (?) .. I do have a couple of tsunamis programmed for automatic horn. Although I have been advised also that there wouldn't necessarily be a need for horn signals at all whilst switching.. and watching a number of prototype videos seems to back that up too.

    • @moghobbystuff
      @moghobbystuff  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +CSX RENSVILLE I'll have to look up the size.. I know it was small! It's badly located in the space above the board at the moment .. I want to go back and fix it to the shell properly at some point

    What kind of lighting do you have on your layout? Looks good!

    • @moghobbystuff
      @moghobbystuff  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks.. I bought a reel of strip LED lighting from ebay. can't remember for certain but it's probably 'cool' white as opposed to 'warm'.. As the layout is 'framed' by a fascia top and bottom, it definitely helps.
