@@thedudeabides1443 I hope you are joking. There are literally dozens of videos showing this. Are you telling me you can't find multiple videos of the 720S crushing a new Turbo S? It's like proving water is wet lol. Ok for starters go to Dragtimes channel, possible the most definitive source for instrumented straight-line races and racing with supercars.
I think this is the result we would all expect. Cold road and tires RWD vs AWD car with more power. Predictable outcome. Love the Turbo S (my all time favourite super car) however the LT is so special I'd choose the LT out of the two.
The 911 Turbo S is a beautiful car indeed. And me too had said that it‘d be my dream car....until my former neighbor handed me out his key to his 991.2 Turbo S Cabrio for a ride on my own. And yes, it is fast...but unfortunately too perfect to be fun. In fact it almost drives like a fast limousine ...no engine sound. It is kind of boring, uninspiring and unemotional and didn’t put a smile on my face when driving (which it actually should do for that kind of money) ...still do like the looks BUT it is no longer my dream car!
i would NOT choose the car that sometimes starts, sometimes works and sometimes just pisses you off when you want to show off to your friends, cough, Mclaren.

@@bubbarocks8888888888 ..If one sees the Turbo as a luxurious, comfortable car, yes then the dampened (because of the turbo chargers) sound might be welcome. But there are better cars to drive with utmost luxury from point a to point b. A 911 of any kind was always supposed to be a fun and a sports car.... and that’s where these attributes of the 911 Turbo fail... If you have the chance test drive one and you will experience and see what I mean. Fast but very little emotional (also because of four wheel drive in my opinion, which is unnecessary). I‘d rather prefer a regular, natural aspirated 911 with a stick (instead of double clutch transmission) and rear wheel drive only!!

True, but also probably the most boring sports car as well. Too perfect to really be good fun. That is also why some company owners drive a Turbo instead a limousine (similarly comfortable) and the cars get lots of mileage... I‘d choose GT3 over it in blink of an eye

@@cw2840 Roll racing = Special Olympics. What other handicaps does McLaren need to win? 720S is 500 lbs lighter makes 50 more hp, and has a displacement advantage of 2 more cylinders. With a simple tune on the 992 Turbo S the 720S gets raped prison style on a roll race and from a dig, well it's like a lion playing with it's prey before it eats it. Stock Vs Stock though the 720S gets it's ass handed to it by the 992 Turbo S watch here:

@@teezus2036 I mean the mclaren is much lighter and they tend to underrate their horsepower figures and have pretty aggressive gearing with also less drivetrain loss. So that’s why I’m surprised

Freezing temps on Trofeo R's and RWD... Anyway the new Turbo S launches like crazy and will be faster to 60 even in optimal conditions, but after that at the final races it looks VERY close... On a track the LT will be faster (and a lot more fun) :)

The 992 has AWD and the LT is RWD lol. Plus the 992 has great top end power. Once the 992 gets the jump off the line, it’s not really going to be close lol. Just not enough HP to reel it in. The only McLarens that can really compete are the 720S and 765LT. Great video. 💪🏾🔥

I honestly have no idea why anyone would pay that much money on a McLaren. They have the worst quality of any supercar on the market. They are essentially the exact opposite of Porsche. I just don't get it. I'd love to hear from friendly folks that think I'm wrong. Cheers.
So first off, I don't think you're "wrong." We are all fans of what we are fans of and that's awesome in and of itself. I'm a huge Mclaren fan. I don't own a McLaren so take my opinion with a grain of salt but I WILL and this is why: For me PERSONALLY - It's the design language. I LOVE the McLaren design language both exterior and interior. I'm really into minimalistic looks and beauty in simplicity and McLaren's design language and sleek lines really appeal to me. I'm a huge fan of turbo charged over N/A (porsche makes turbo'd vehicles as well ofc) but basically in every way I like McLarens and their v8 powerplant. I love how innovative they (the brand) are. I love how quick they produce and create (despite the fact it often results in depreciation and QC issues). The company doesn't feel archaic. It feels like they love what they do and can't wait to create and share their latest and greatest with the world. I like the fact that it's a relatively new brand in the consumer market and people outside of the car world don't know what they're looking at, they just know it's pretty and that you're successful. I also really appreciate RWD vehicles and find them to be more fun than AWD ones (Yes Porsche does make RWD vehicles but it's their AWD vehicles that usually beat McLaren's in performance tests).. Duh a Porsche in the rain on a track wherever, will probably be faster because. . . duh. . . but meh, personally I'm not buying the vehicle to be .5 seconds faster than my counterparts. A N/A vehicle in dry and wet will likely put up faster lap times because it's easier to control the throttle vs trying to stay in boost and keep the Rear Wheels from slipping but I'm buying a car because I like the way it looks/ sounds/ makes me feel to drive/ step in and out of. The doors . .. the cockpit.... the EXPERIENCE of driving and ownership. The experience of ownership goes way beyond lining up for a race. Most owners race their cars like 0.00005 percent of the time, you know? 99.9% of driving is done on regular streets around regular people so yeah there are a thousand and one cars that can go faster by a bit but who cares? Does the car still excite you being in traffic?
Now the Quality Control issue is a legitimate issue. My current car creaks under strain and it drives me nuts so panel gaps and poor build quality is unacceptable. There are no excuses for that imo.
Porsche's are unbelievable machines. It's like taking a razor blade and making the same one better every single year but going back to design language, TO ME, it looks like the Chevron car from the 90s and I can never unsee it. The bulbous headlights are just ... NOT it for me. I absolutely hate the exterior styling. The only Porsche I'd ever own would be like a Panamera which isn't really made for performance OR a really really old school which is more of a classic and collector car than one you buy because it looks beautiful. Porsche has been at it for freaking forever so of course they have gotten kinks out that McLaren hasn't but a Porsche on the exterior is lackluster to me. Even the 918 is not a car that I would call "beautiful." Oh but add 918 to the list. I'd like one of those lol but it'd be last on my list behind the P1 and Laf. This is absolutely NO knock on Porsche. Their interiors are beautiful. They are classy and mature vehicles. I just don't like their exterior design and whatever miniscule speed advantage it has in a quarter mile on an unprepped surface would not be enough to sway me away from that feeling of "special" in a McLaren.
A 2000 911 looks the exact same as a 2005 911 which looks the exact same as a 2015 911 lol. How do you have a car that looks the exact same for 20-30 years LOL. To me that is like the opposite of special BUT is great for making a perfect driving machine. So I get it, I really do but yeah it really boils down to what you value.
I'm personally waiting for McLaren to up their quality and by that I mean I'm waiting for my bank account to be swole enough to comfortably afford one.

Ok well first of all a drag race tells you very little about an overall cars performance, how the car handles it’s stability, braking , body control etc
I currently own a 600 LT -and previously owned a turbo S not the new 992 version , as a drivers car there is no comparison, the McLaren 600LT offers a far more focused drivers car, compare it to GT3 RS, the turbo is more aloof lacks the feel and raw driving experience of the McLaren, the Porsche is a great car no doubt , it’s a totally different proposition compared compared to the 600LT.
Owned 2 McLaren’s both have had zero issues, if I had the choice again I still take the McLaren , Apex run 5 McLaren’s at the Nordschleife, that tells you all you need to know 👍

Number 1 its all wheel drive. 2 someone who can't drive is driving. 3 if your going to put 2 cars against each other you would half to have a 675 or 720 to make it fair because the 992 is AWD.
