btw my 2009 gti is having idle problem, showing P0507( idle higher then expect). during the car running at warm up temperature, every time when it comes to a stop or moving slowly the idle rpm increase it self. way up to 2k then slowly drop like the engine was choking. some people said it is the pcv valve, some said MAF sensor and throttle body. i don't know which to trust.
I think my rear main seal is leaking. My car is 10 years old and I have never replaced PCV valve. If I change the PCV valve, would it stop the rear main seal leaking. Or do I have to also replace the RMS?
@@markballenger513no you need the seal. You let it get to 100K without changing the PCV so it created too much pressure & stretches out/wears out the seal.
bought a amazon one for 3x dollar. after install it, miss fire and engine stall. the pcv looks 99% alike, but there is a little sanded area at the internal breathing tip, those return hole looks very little smaller, and the lower oil return hose not really match the oem shape. rear main seal leak, tried ATP205,failed, trying lucas oil with the atp205 in it, trying to change a better diaphragm see if it helps.
@@xozart9785 the new diaphragm from RKX 2.0T TSI INDESTRUCTIBLE PCV valve upgrade compatible doesn't seem helping or something else is wrong ,it's not like oem rubber one ,which is not flexible then pure rubber.

so i saw one video and guy said if you have oil in hose and this hose going from pcv to intake so its bad PCV its right ? i took off house i and there oil so i need change it ? also when little bit hard took off oil cup when car running engine . But ring inside PCV looks good . i have consuming oil every 400 miles . I dont know what i need to do i have 109K mileage only . 2.0 TFSI .

I have no pending codes or CEL but lately my 2016 2.0 feels underpowered and it doesn't respond quick as it used to be, it vibrates it idle or when driving, I did a common maintenance (spark plugs, coils, air filter and MAF AIT clean up) car still vibrating with slow response at the throttle. Can the PCV go bad without codes?

@@MrShootFirstDieFirst I have a B8 A4 2.0T and I tried the test of taking the oil cap off with the engine running and it sounded like it was sucking air more like a vacuum and started to idle rough, I thought that means that the PCV valve is bad so I bought a new PCV valve and got it installed and it’s doing the exact same thing, I got it replaced only because my car was consuming insane amounts of oil like 1 litre every 350 miles so everyone told me to try this first before going for the other options that are crazy expensive
@@B8_ghosttpeople, especially the younger crowd, jump into these cars because they look cool etc. These engines are trash, disposable after 100k.... Try to sell it to Caravana, you will get maybe 2k for it, all of them know. The cars are nice new, but past 100k is trash on wheels
Yes, it is the PCV valve, you can change the whole thing, or you can try and change the membrane that's inside (it's cheaper, but you might brake the cover). Good luck!
Hey what’s up ! I got the same code p2187 for my 2012 a4 Quattro . I’ve changed the pcv valve & oil separator. Ignition coils, spark plugs & still get rough idles & vacuum leak symptoms. Any help ? I’ve already taken it to several shops :(
I would make sure that the pcv valve is original from Audi first otherwise being new pcv valve could be the cause of those problems if it’s not up to the standards
@@rontillad7640 sometimes the cause of the vacuum leak is the lower timing chain cover . It has a rubber circle in the center . Buy starting fluid from oreilley and spray the lower timing chain cover and other places to determine where you have the leak , while the car running. Good luck and do it safely

I've got the part from a friend who works in a shop. You can check your PCV valve, there should be a code written on it. And try contacting your local shops. Audi dealer will suggest you the same part for double the price.
i see slow starting after i turn the key too, no code i believe is old wires that circus coming late. try to put the key in wait 5seconds before u turn?
Same problem , I’ve replaced coils and plugs , Maf, throttle body and tonight it’s pcv ! Hopefully that will fix it or what could be next !!!! Cold start miss fires are driving me crazy
@@superdad771 In the end for me, it was the high pressure fuel pump. Replaced all those things you mentioned and it never seemed to solve the issue. Soon as I replaced the hpfp my car started running smooth as butter again. Just a thought
Hey I replaced mine but before I did saw that only the pcv was sucking it a lot of air but not the oil cap and dipstick. After replacing it the pcv didn’t suck up anymore air but the oil dipstick and cap do now. It’s pretty bad and the engine starts shaking if I open it while the car is on. Help me please!

The symptom of these engines is that they are poorly engineered rubbish. There are so may issues with these that simply should not exist. They are something like you would expect to come out of the Daewoo factory, but at least the Daewoo is cheap rubbish !!!

You can check your maf with a scanner, check what it is showing

You will have to replace the seal.

You can surely replace the pcv first and see if the leak remains. But I bet it will

How do you replace the breather hose from behind

p2187 could be poor mix: excess air and lack of fuel, i suggest to remove fuel injectors and clean them they can get dirty, check later fuel pump
Get it carbon cleaned up by hand from a real shop. The direct ignition is a huge issue that creates carbon build up in the valves

It might be the pcv still, i'd suggest to replace it, or after a while your rear main seal might leak again.
