This is an excellent video. Straight to the point and covers the problem and solution. Not a bunch of jibber jabber that just irritates you when you're trying to see what your problem is.
Clear and concise walk-through on how to self diagnose what is leaking. Not a detailed how to to change the seal, but it gives a good idea of what's involved quickly which I really appreciated. Thank you for posting!
Thank you! didnt spend 3-5 min talking about crap I dont need to hear. No long stupid intro. Good info, well delivered. Not a bunch or rambling crap i dont need. i just subscribed because of that!
That "jibber jabber" you're speaking of would have told you some valuable information he left out. I wouldnt change a pinion seal based off this guy or you'll regret it
Great video! Very DIY doable. Would’ve been great to mention the size of the “Big old Nut” just to make viewers have the socket before attempting. A1 videos have been a great help!! Thanks A1 team!!!
Few things are sweeter than a to the point youtube video, where you can make out what they're pointing at and saying. *loud rock music plays as shaky camera with poor lighting gyrates around a finger after a five minute vlog intro* i always look out for 1a auto videos relating to my vehicles, keep'em coming.
Thanks for this video. Now I have to figure out exactly where the leak is coming from. Its a mess at the back of the truck with fresh clear fluid. Its even dripping off the bottom of the gas tank.
Thank you 1a auto for amazing videos You broke it all down fast and easy I never understood where to look for a leak in my rear end axle and now I know I have multiple problems that need attention asap thank you
I have a very frustrating transmission leak on the drivers side and I believe that it may be one of the leaks you were describing in this video. It gave me some leads and so I am going to get the car lifted and take a closer look. I could use a wing man😞😏🙏
Ok, my question is about the yoke. I know about the pinion seal and I changed mine out but it is still leaking there at the pinion seal. Is there also a seal on the yoke?
I have a leak coming from my rear diff, 2010 Outback, I looked under and seen it was coming from above the diff, is that the air vent mentioned in the video? Looks like a pipe/hose joining something, and that appears to be where it's coming from. Great video!
Awesome video, thank you so much. I got a question about a noise coming from my 2wd 05 Tahoe. I hear a clicking noise when driving below 35 mph straight ahead and letting go off the gas. What do you think could be the issue and how would I pinpoint where the noise is coming from? Thanks
+Frankie C We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Great info. Can I ask you a question about something completely different. I have a 2001 Ford explorer, that has what I have come to find out what is caused death wobble. I have thrown 600.00 at the front end and they ,, the mechanic said he fixed it, but NOPE still doing it. Everytime I have come to your channel I have ALWAYS followed your info, and the problems have been fixed. Could you PLEASE, help me with this. When I'm going 40 to 65 it will be driving fine, and if you hit just the right bump ,, I guess ,, it starts into a wobble that scares me to death, thought I was going to die. There's a hole in my seat where my butt took a bite out of it. It will start wobbling violently, and the steering wheel will almost shake out of my hand, soon as you slow down to about 25 or 30 mph it stops. The mechanic says he has done the whole front end, tie rods, ball joints, idler arm, stabilizer. Dear God please help me. As I take care of my ex wife who is a 2 x stroke victim, and I have to have something safe to get her around. I am disabled so I live off a small ssdi check and can't afford to just keep throwing money at parts, and can't afford to buy another vehicle, again please help me out. God bless you for all your help.
Did you get your wheels checked to see if they are balanced properly? If the wabbles go away after a certain speed it is probably a bearing somewhere in the drivetrain. Good luck, I hope you can get it fixed.
If there is a shock running cross ways in front end, it is a steering damper. Older vehicles had them. When they went bad you hit a bump and steering wheel would go back and forth violently. Scary ride for sure.
This is good video but I think it's too short we always have to pause the video and play again to watch will more details , my suggestion is don't cut the part of video or make in fast speed , maybe for you it's not important part of video or it's not necessary but really it's necessary the viewer get bored . It's more helpful to watch all the with video with out skip part of with video or with fast speed .

1:01 warning don’t crush the inner washer torque to specs by marking before u take pinion seal apart
