Check out this video next, where Dr. Karam talks about the face cleansing mistakes many of us make with our skincare routines: th-cam.com/video/sWLCp4Q_56o/w-d-xo.html
P.s.✨💞💖 I KNOW I'VE MENTIONED THIS BEFORE BUT I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU SHARE YOUR DECADES OF EXPERIENCE 💗 OF BEING IN THE FIELD 🏑 NOTHING LIKE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE TO TEACH YOU THE BEST IN LIFE❤🎉🎉🎉😉💞💞💞✨💛🩵🎈
The very useful basic advice you offer is appreciated, so thank you for that… BUT the majority of people viewing this video cannot afford to pay $360 every month for your brand skin care products! Those who can afford it without any problem are those who can see surgeons like you anyways for procedures… You mention your own wife as an example regarding good sun protection but please…she also has access to exquisite skin care and treatments as well! A truly helpful video would offer suggestions of affordable but effective alternative products and how to use them properly…This certainly would keep many of us from trying and accumulating one product after another as you mentioned…and NO your products STILL wouldn’t be anywhere near affordable in exchange!
I understand the slap in the face when you see prices like this. I would want to know how long the products last. I use Obagi products and the most expensive item would be 260.00 for their neck and chest serum. It will last me about three months like most of their products. The most important thing is that it works . I mean it really works. I have thrown away so much money purchasing products that might have well have been water. I also use tretinoin. I am 63 and look nowhere near it. Genetics have been good to me. My parents never developed the wrinkles I have seen on many older people. Had I not stayed out in the sun so much I would have had even less wrinkles. I guess my point is that you need to find out how long these products last. Is it 3 months, 6 months? If so, divide that up and see if it is affordable. I put money away and have three months to save up for my next purchase. When it is time to buy more I have the money available. If it works and you see a major difference then at least you are not throwing your money away. I love my Obagi because I see a huge difference.
The right skincare active ingredients: Retinol Vitamin C Niacinamide Peptides Hyaluronic acid Certain oils Ceramides Growth factors Non-hydroquinone lighteners + Exfoliation + Good diet Good sleep Lots of water/fluids
@@mimilovinlife1964 Sorry, cannot help you as my skincare regimen consists of Retin A, Cerave moisturizer/cream + sunscreen La Roche Posay SPF50. My focus is on daily physical exercise, daily facial exercise, rest, sleep, affirmation, gratitude, drinking water, and interim fasting. No vitamin C, No hyaluronic acid, .... And of course, no botox, no fillers, ...... I would NEVER consider cosmetic surgery....it is simply not for me! I love myself exactly as I am! By the way, I also use red light therapy.
I am a 60 year old woman who usually gets mistaken for a 45 year old woman . I have always been consistent with my skincare routine since I was a teenager. I’ve never been able to tan, which I realized very early, like age 15, so I just avoided the sun during the most direct times of the day. I looked into your skincare line, and although the products look to be good quality, the prices are, I must say, quite high to say the least. I guess I will continue with what I’ve been doing for years.
Yes. The products are expensive. I ordered a couple of times ,but they work. My husband asked me what I was doing and that my skin looked like a million dollars. (I said looked because I couldn’t afford to keep buying it 😮
Get on TH-cam and watch Alex Ferguson. All he does is review redlight products and talks with different companies. He is totally the expert on all the ins and outs of red light. I bought because of his reviews after a bad car accident and a concession (besides the face benefits 😂) and love my RL! It is the boom! Best thing I have purchased!
I'm 48 and doing all these since I'm 24 . I had acne and luckily my genious and brilliant cosmetologist was smart enough to combine acne treatment along with anti aging treatment
I have lived in the desert southwest all my life and so did my older sister and mother. Both were very fair skinned. My mom passed at age 87, and hardly had a wrinkle, my sister passed at 70, and had beautiful skin. They both pretty much stayed out of the sun. I’m 63 and have no wrinkles although I personally haven’t been so sun shy and rarely, if ever used sunscreen. Long story short, just good genes, I guess.
Well, Sun is good for your health. My grand dad died at 105, my 2 grandma at 99. All of them Didn’t avoid Sun, but not actively exposed to Sun either. 😅 Moderate Sun exposure is good for your health and beauty I think. I choose to be health and don’t mind a little bit of wrinkles.
I met many people in my time both young and old but never have I met anyone that is 70 and older that has beautiful skin. Your family must have superior genetics
@@chanelvisser7874 No offense, but I would love to see what you mean with "no wrinkles". I often read this on facbook, then I ve a look at their pictures and see a lot of wrinkles.
I am an RN and a dermatologist visited an older patient in the hospital to evaluate a suspicious lesion and pointed out the ‘farmer’s tan’ that the man had on his neck that looked like tough, dark, old, dried shoe leather with deep crevices while his back which had been covered by a shirt most of his life was pale and smooth. It was around 1980 when sunscreen didn’t have the same importance that it did then, but I wore hats and sunscreen. Several years later I worked for a plastic surgeon and again saw visible sun damage when 40+ year olds were bringing in their 60+ year old moms for face lifts and other procedures. While the older women were of different generation who didn’t worship the sun, their skin was in better shape even though sagging had occurred. Their daughters usually had tans with more lines, especially if they were smokers and the skin alone made them look older than they were. I’m in my 60’s and even now, the only consistent skin regimen was sunscreen for 40+ years and even under harsh dental lights, hygenists comment about how good my skin looks. I never wore anything on my face except sunscreen and eye makeup and still don’t. I also found out that fluorescent lights can cause skin damage so sunscreen is beneficial even when working inside. Preventing sun damage is by far the best thing you can do for your skin.
I used to live in Singapore and one could always spot older Australians at the supermarket checkout as the back of their neck was exactly as you describe above... Use sunscreen, cover up and stay out of the sun as much as possible.
I completely agree. If I'm going to be in the sun very long I also wear a very wide hat. I am starting to see a little bit of sagging but no wrinkles or dark spots yet and I'm in my 50s. But sadly I have developed my dad's undereye bags. They aren't real bad yet but I plan on fixing them as soon as I can. I never thought I would ever even consider any kind of plastic surgery but they bother me that much.
How important is cleansing in the morning really? Is it bad to have actives on your skin from the night before? I feel like my skin feels more balanced when I don't over cleanse.
My face aged backwards I look younger now than I did 13 years ago I’m 60 this year! Be patient! don’t give up! These tips work and your diet is really important too watch your sugar, it will age you faster too! It causes glycation! Cut out white flour and anything with processed oils, all the oil that yellow at the store it’s highly processed and terrible ..use good quality olive oil,Avocado oil, macadamia oil .. much sodium from table salt it terrible too! Use Redmonds sea salt it’s better! Eat your greens!!
Thanks for the reinforcement by these tips. I do most of these since retirement and have never looked and feel better at 73. Most people at the gym thinks I'm in my early 50's. Have to be stricter with my sun protection wear. Walking outdoors 3 times daily.
My mother is 76 years old and has been using the simple Nivea cream for over 50 years and looks 60 years old. Nothing else....no expensive creams and products that only make us more wrinkled from high prices...
Could you possibly do a skin care routine for menopausal ladies (over50’s) please, I follow your advice religiously, but how to apply actives in routine (layering actives) would be very appreciated and helpful 😊
Retinol: three times at week only at nights. Vitamin C on clean skin every day Sun protector every day That’s it. Hyaluronic acid don’t penetrate the skin Other serums that promise hidratation don’t penetrate the skin Drink a lot of water and have a nice sleep. Avoid the sun!
Consistency! The word of the century! I wanted to try your Trifecta products, but unfortunately, I'm 67 and retired. Just can't afford it. But I can afford consistency when it comes to taking care of my skin.❤
I’m 53. I have been wearing sunscreen daily winter and summer for about a decades and used a basic cocoa butter with vitamin E morning and night and I don’t have many wrinkles. Now I’ve added actives, exfoliation with ahas, and even better moisturiser and the few wrinkles I did have look lessened. So at any age, it’s worth starting to do the things the dr recommends in this video.
I’m an African American women in my mid 40’s who didn’t start wearing sun protection till I was in my 30’s which helped a lot. The best regimen I found was sunscreen, lots of moisture, retinol and getting a chemical peel 2x a year
@@mimi831711 Not OP but I recommend Korean sunscreens for black women. Most of them feel like a moisturiser, not sticky like Western sunscreen and don’t leave a white cast behind. I’ve tried Round Lab - Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream, Skin1004 Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum and Numbuzin - No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence and liked them all.
As a clinical scientist specializing in anti-aging supplements, you totally overlooked the #1 reason why mature skin on women worsens with age. That is the loss of Estrogen.
Apply estrogen cream to face. This is recommended by several board certified dermatologists on TH-cam. You can even use Premarin vaginal cream on the face.
Same here,I m turning 56 this year and generally mistaken for 40 years old.I ve had a skinroutine since my teens (at the time only a cheap hydrating cream)and by the time I was 20 hardly ever had my face in the sun again.Same for the skin on my body, neck and decollté look like a 30 year old,I don t smoke and I m only an occasionaly drinker(like birthdays and such).I m convinced that has made a huge difference in how my skin is now.I use reasonably priced products.I would love to try his products but I live in europe so that would cost a fortune on fees alone already.I do have now a layerd skin routine, cleansing, lotion, serum, eyecream, and hydration. from time to time I do a 30% glycolic peel (at home). Also my hands look young,I rub the back of my hands with the remainder of the product I put on my face, have done so for years aswell and I also go down to neck and decolté with my face products.I think I was about 14 years old when I started putting a cheap cream on my face, because my skin couldnt stand the water I washed my face with,it dried it out and thats how it started.Take a look at PENN.SMITH.SKINCARE channel on you tube if looking for cheaper alternatives, she is excellent and I have some of her recommended products in my routine(such as beauty of joseon eyecream with 2% retinal,I also use REN essence with polyglutamic acid, better than hyaluronic for dry skin).I ve been taking care of my skin for over 40 years, consistency is key
I have been using your trifecta and polish since the day they launched. I am going to be 73 in the spring, and I get compliments all the time on my complexion. I don’t wear make up, just a tinted moisturizer with a high SPF. I would never trade your products in for anything else!🎉
At $260 monthly for the trio and another $75 for the polish… you are fortunate to be able to order and use these products since the day they were launched…For those reading these comments, please mention if you have had any other procedures or treatments, what your skin was like before using, etc… it would be very much appreciated by most to determine if your results are relatable! Thank you!
So happy to hear the products are working for you!! If you have a minute… I would really appreciate it if you could write a review for us. Here is the link: karammdskin.com/collections/products/products/karam-trifecta
Yes!As another commenter asked it would be great if you could do a video for post menopausal women over 50 on how to layer actives .Just in case we don’t have your line yet😊
Hyaluronic acid question. A Dermatologist I know said its good for a special occasion as it plumps but she would never recommend everyday as it takes the water from the deeper layers of skin. There's also a dermatologist on TH-cam who says the very same
Question… love your content, I already do everything you reco and despite my *advanced age* 😎 I love my skin. The only thing I don’t think I’ve seen you address is the effect of LED light, specifically at-home devices. Would love to hear your perspective.
I’ve been in the process of undoing years of sun worship. I started sunscreen about 5 years ago, at age 54. My skin looks much more luminous with using actives, sunscreen, some lasers, and now microneedling. It’s definitely an uphill battle undoing all the damage I did.
I have use The Ordinary individual products. Retinol, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and I’m loving the new soothing serum. The pink stuff is everybody knows it I am 53 years old and I work construction all my life. Have these individual components on my face plus Neutrogena sports face sunblock every day twice a day.
I use your products regularly and am most grateful for the quality and simplicity. They make consistency easy and no other products turn my head or tempt me. My mother is turning 90 this year, uses crappy face products inconsistently, drinks wine every evening and sun worshipped for years with no sunscreen. She’s never had surgery or filler or Botox. She has always looked years younger than she is and her skin continues to be amazing. She is healthy in every way. Genes definitely play a big role!!
My mother is 75 and has fantastic skin. Her routine? Soap and water + drug store moisturiser. She's always hated the sun so stayed out of it as much as possible (easy in the UK, we don't get much), she's never been a smoker and didn't drink very often. You can do more damage by putting too much junk on your face, especially creams and lotions with hormone disrupters.

Double cleanse AM & PM, no steam during facials, and no exfoliating scrubs. The peel off Korean mask is more gentle on skin surface. A lot of facial changes occur as we age primarily due to the way we sleep - squashing our faces on the sides will eventually cause the skin to stretch and gravity pulls it down. The jawline will be the first to be affected. There's a great difference between those who sleep on their backs - facial shape basically change very little thru the years. What do you think on this sleeping point?
I've recently found out (Mayo clinic) that sleeping on your back is not a good position, it's actually the worst sleeping position. Supposedly sleeping on your side is the best position
Back sleeping might better for your face, but side sleeping promotes brain detoxification pathways (learned of this from an Andrew huberman podcast). Makes me feel better about being a lifelong side sleeper.
I really like your approach to skin care. There is a lot of good old fashioned common sense involved. Staying away from the sun unless you are protected with sunscreen is huge and also a clean lifestyle. It works! Cleaning the skin first in the morning and again before you go to bed is worth it's weight in gold. My Cousin is a retired Registered Nurse from the Mediterranean and is now 74 years old. Excellent skin care routine as well as The Mediterranean diet ..,will not go outside usually without a hat. I'm not talking a tiny hat either but a substantial size like a bucket hat. Yes it can muss your hair so you need to take a comb with you. Not a big deal.
I am 57 and grew up in Southern Ca. near Newport Beach. My skin looks really great for my age and what I put it through when I was young. This is partly my genetics but I have always used good skin care and I am consistent with actives and sunscreen. People never guess my age. I worked for a cosmetic line when I was young and I noticed some of the older ladies who had been using the products for years, had the most beautiful skin. I now know one of the biggest reasons was the foundation had zinc oxide as one of the top ingredients. Sun protection is huge!
Microneedling every 2 or 3 weeks will change your skin ! Microneedling with hyaluronic acid , tranexamic acid, peptides and exosomes etc. Is a total game changer !
The Trifecta is perfect for lazy, negligent people like me. It is simple and fast. Rinse is great because it does not dry out the skin like many other cleansers.
I love the sun & need it for vit D & my skin looks vibrant & young.. I only use natural products & focus on a healthy diet. Other than smile lines, I'm good. I do agree with some other points.
I do great skincare and, my fascia has dropped a bit by 69😊. Frankly, the roughest years were my 50s during my menopausal transition when I still worked and had the big bucks to do Botox and dermal fillers. Now, I use my actives, at home LED, at home microneedling, sun protection and retinoids. The greatest gift has been growing up in N. Wisconsin until 23 yo.
my grandma always used to exfoliate her skin with a soft towel and use vitamin e capsule and massage her face. she passed away at 87 with good skin, no deep lines. it could be genetic and her diets but she doing these simple skincare since she was in her 20s and didnt expose to the sun much
I get more time outside than I ever have in my entire life and I am in my 50s and my skin has never looked better in my adult years. The reason is simply because I take care of my skin morning and night. I wear protection but I also try to usually wear a brimmed hat. Just want to get that out there. You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg for a good skin care. Learn about the ingredients and learn to read your skins needs at different times of the year and in different environments, And just adjust a little bit in the morning or evening as needed.
Same, I am fifty and have been in the sun all my life with no issue. The true culprit of UV damage, is the terrain if the body itself. Seed oils for instance, cause the skin to burn with UV, which is actually a new phenomenon, only truly seen in the recent fifty years, since the introduction of toxic foods to the industry. I also use products with zinc, and I take zinc daily. I wear a hat and/or zinc if in the sun for an extended period of time.
You are so right Dr. karam.. the most important is cleansing, … however I only cleanse my face with just lukewarm water in the morning as opposed to a full cleanse at night, as I have very sensitive skin … do you think that is enough ?? .. & I do use the active products that you have suggested .. great tutorial as always, I love listening to your wonderful words …😊
Ideally you could use a gentle moisturizer in the morning as well:) to clear all of the impurities you gathered overnight. But if that is working for you then it should be good:)
I'm 35 and I have rosacea. I practice all of these advices since the age of 32 (wish it was earlier) but the difference is huge. I would NEVER change my skincare routine and I wear sunscreen even when I'm home in a rainy day
Use a lightweight and non-greasy eye serum. I've been using mine every day for a few months and I can say that my eye lids are not as saggy and my eye bags look less puffy too.
Dr Karam, I really appreciate your expertise. Have you done a video on tretinoin v. Retinol v. Retinoids? It’s very confusing to consumers when there is so much information about these and which to use.
I am approaching middle age and I can tell you I use less cosmetics than when I was younger. I was quite vulnerable to all those fads in magazines, patted yogurt on my face and stuff... that is not the case anymore. I use very basic 'skin care'. You would be horrified LOL. Liquid hand soap or shower gel (or even shampoo) to clean my face, depending on whether I am in a shower, washing my hair at that time or not. Call me lazy if you wish. One kind of non-expensive lotion/cream/oil for the day, I have a few at hand, alternating between them, cheap night cream after that frugal barbarism of cleansing at night. Rarely I use St Ives scrub on my face. Almost no make-up since the pandemic... I am blessed with quite a good skin, also thanks to the pill that keeps hormones stable (those cause a lot of acne in people, not so much bacteria on their skin which we all have some of). And although I am quite ignorant to the trends in cosmetics, I know a thing or two about nutrition. And I can tell you, my skin glows after exercise like after no cosmetic procedure I have ever done. I love myself in the mirror after my regular treadmill sessions. The skincare starts from within. And I am yet to see a silver hair on my scalp. Might be genetics, might also be the lack of stress and adequate nutrition. If you don't mind, I will spare my skin of all those chemicals and stuff for the time being. Wrinkles don't bother me as much, some just forming below my eyes. Ageing is not a failure. When I look back I will see a lot of comfort instead of a constant struggle to fight nature, saving myself a little fortune along. Those ads on cosmetic products are funny. Just take a pic of a product bottle and some random face from a catalogue. Voila! I am not buying it LOL.
Anyone after 50 should already know this...sunscreen should be used right when you come out of the womb and yes consistently. How about "what to do to reverse sun damage?" Value ......This was a 15-minute plug to buy your products. You have the right because it's your channel. Happy holidays.
I’m 46 yrs old female, although my skin is fairly good (apart from some pigmentation). Should I be investing in collagen? Allhamdulillah I don’t have any wrinkles yet.
Thank you for the great advice and expertise. I've been working hard on treating my skin well, looks like I'm headed in the right direction. Turning 54 shortly and feel I look better than when I turned 50... Thanks again for the extra tips 🙂
I’m 62 and have been following a strict skin care range from the age of 13 , always cleansed toned and moisturised day and night and just added this as I got older and I’m very pleased how my skin looks now ,yes I have a few wrinkles and fine lines but I’m ok with that also I don’t smoke or drink alcohol but do struggle with my sleep x
Consistency in skin care is just as important what is used on the skin. There are many skin care practices that cost very little to have more healthy-looking skin. When someone has asked me what I use on my skin, usually, they scoff at it or just flat out call me a liar about it. It took some time for me to realize it's better if I don't tell even if/when they ask.
I believe everyone of us should.get a dermatologist first..and adjust the skin care routine to what we can afford, I have read that the doctor's skin treatment is very expensive, ans since I do not live in the USA I adjust my ski care routine to what I can afford and have in my country
I get comments on how young I look all the time. I live in Australia, never really been a sun lover as such but since I was a teen in the 80’s I have worn sunscreen on my face, ALL year. And it was because I read in a teenage fashion magazine that said the sun was the biggest ager of your skin.
I am a 60 year old woman And I shall take on board what I have heard in this video. I have a bottle of a very good face peel in my bathroom which I have been told I can use 3 times a week. So today will be day one. I do use spf every day 365 days of the year. SPF 50 don't know if that is to High to use all year round. 😊
I can't stress this enough! I am 62 years young. I have no sun or age spots and I have NEVER, EVER used sun screen. I should have the worse skin in the world based on what you and others say regarding the sun. I would love to send you and others a picture that proves this fact. I have one problem and one problem only. I have a turkey neck. I have a long face to begin with its and the skin is falling otherwise I have very few wrinkles anywhere else. I have a beautiful complexion and receive complements all the time about my skin color and texture. I know what you must be thinking. She must have had other procedures. NO, wrong! No Botox, not even a facial. I will share with all of you the secret I believe is better than every plastic surgeon or dermatologist has ever told you. Don't wear makeup everyday, let the skin breath and yes get some sun. Sun is good but in moderation. I would love to have something done to tighten my turkey neck but I don't need nor want all this other stuff. I'm personally not going to spend and extra 30 minutes to an hour every night putting on cream only for it to be absorbed by my silk pillowcase.
I found the best cleanser for me & have had good results. I use HOT water on a soft cloth, tap damp dry & on goes the Hyaluronic Acid moisturizer while my pores are still open. I do this morning & night but at night I add Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Retinol over the moisturizer. I occasionally use Buff Puff with the moisturizer gently & if I have garden dirt I use the only soap I trust ( it heals wounds & saved my brother’s acne), Dial GOLD antibacterial soap gently and moisturize after. My dermatologist was surprised I don’t use a “ cleanser “, but agreed that it “ingredients “ aren’t all that necessary if you use hottest water you can stand. By the time, my moisturizer is on, my pores must be closed because I’ve never had a large pore problem. I’m thinking of a neck & jowl lift in future because years of looking down as a “ couldn’t stop reading” kid and now my phone have resulted in hanging neck and loss of good jawline . Water cleansing has no alcohol like many cleansers & also saves money too!!
Terima kasih dr.Amir Karam advice nya. Sy sering nonton video kamu. Dan banyak yang sudah saya ikuti dan konisten pakai produk sejenis. Dan sekarang muka saya halus lembut, kerutan hilang, apalagi bagian smiling line wow gone. Im so happy to be young. Thanks so much. Kapan produkmu bs dibeli di Indonesia. ❤❤
Thank you for always emphasizing the actives and the necessity for moisture! I'm in my late 30s and adjusting to my skin feeling dry and deflated when that has never been the case for me. Learning my new skin is a challenge, but you make it easy. Thank you!
I'm 61 and have always used good skincare products, as I live in France. Also my dermatologist injects less botox on the 2 zones mentioned, so hopefully I'll stay good a little longer. As usual your video is honest and informative.
he is. the info is correct. just don't fall into the trap of buying his overpriced products. oh well, at least this is a truly valuable 'infomercial". He'd make WAY more money lowering his prices just a bit.
As a European I wouldn’t say northern Europeans have the best skin🤣 they actually have thin skin and it ages pretty fast starting at the age of 30. In contrast I saw many Latin Americans who bathe in the sun and their skin looks much better than those of northern Europeans. People overdo it with sun protection to be honest and I think how youthful you look depends mostly on genetics! My grandma didn’t use sunscreen ever, was born by the beach, she is 80 and looks like 65🙄
Genetics play a huge role. My parents have never used a drop of sunscreen and lived in the tropics half of their lives. They’re in their 80’s and have beautiful skin.
Genetics is definitely the biggest factor. Though the sun is the second biggest factor. My skincare routine is minimal and I look 10 - 15 yrs younger than I am and it's thanks to my genetics and also because I'm rarely in the sun. I don't believe in wearing sunscreen indoors, unless you have sunlight shining directly on you (my skin is very sensitive and burns easily), so I simply close all the curtains to keep the sun away and it works for me!
Yes, overdoing sun protection and skin care makes people look old much more than sun. People tend to overdo sunbathing also. So moderation is the answer . You dont go in the sun at noon but morning or aternoon... and the hat is ok. I never use chemicals ...I am 6o and ok
I've read soo much about topical hyluronic acid, and how it does not penetrate to the dermis, and just sits there actually extracting water from your dermis go the epidermis where it is, how is this active still being recommended?
If your genetics give you crappy skin all the product in the world isn't going to help - why do experts never mention this. I'm 58, I've never stuck to a routine, I don't have wrinkles except for a slight frown line. I routinely get people thinking I am in my early 40's. My mother is the same, and her mother was the same. They all just want to sell you stuff.
Hi Doctor , I am a regular viewer of your video . I have a problem with skin thinning and hyper pigmentation . Can I go for dermabrassion & chemical peel ? If you plz suggest !! Thanks
You ROCK!!! I use your skin care line, including the polish that I LOVE!! I will do my part and see you in the future for you to work your MAGIC 😊 your talent is a blessing to so many!!!!
Am I the only male here? Men should have a skin care routine too! Well, hope they do, it is nothing wrong with this, and greetings to all the women and girls here! 👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I just found your page and I'm impressed my question is this I am 52 years old and my skin was looking great until I turn 50 and I went through a year of a rough time in my marriage really stressful really overwhelming and I noticed my skin went to hell like it looks great until then and now my skin looks terrible I I aged at least 10 years my skin looks horrible now is there certain thing that's going to help me do it before I start now at the this age or is it just too late for me
I have experienced that if you get Aloe Vera into your eyes, it is extremely painful! So if you want to use a product on your face that has Aloe Vera in it, please be careful so that the product does not get into your eyes!
@@dramirkaram- what would you recommend? I’m planning to use the Illuminate cream this weekend and I’m afraid my skin will peel. Plus the moisturizer creams do not work on my sensitive skin. Suggestions?
Im 57 and irish i use vitiamn c face cleasner, toner and serum plus i use 50 + sunblock,at night i use retinol, with a good moisturizer. My skin has very little wrinkles its not dry and its has no discoloration, its nice and bright, ive 6 kids 9 grandkids people take my daughters for my sisters..well the older two 😊
I feel bad for women. Their whole lives they are told to look “natural” and when they neglect their skin which is part of their health, they are antagonized. That’s why I don’t care. I do what I want.
Getting the "natural" look does not mean neglecting your skin. You are a young man, I am an older woman. I still want to look natural but with healthy looking skin.
I look younger than I am about 15 years younger. And I have to budget carefully. I have been using Skinn Cosmetics for 20 years. Now I have been taken in by new products and how they are marketed but I always go back to Skinn; that and a weekly steam facial does wonders. (HSN)
I am in my seventies and still get compliments on my skin. I have always used a face cloth, cleansers as opposed to soap, and a good moisturizer. So, is a face cloth an exfoliator?
Bounce around @9:24. YES! A year ago I had several colon surgeries and my skin was horrible, dull, gray, lifeless, lots of hyperpigmentation AND I lost 50 pounds, not good when you're older, I looked like death. I started watching channels like this and bought every stinking thing they were pushing, I now own a closet full of opened products, duplicate products and spent a bloody fortune. Live and learn. The uptake was that I did learn a lot about skincare, and I did find a few product lines I liked, I did learn about actives and peels and my skin is looking better than it has in decades. BUT. My golden advice to any of you reading th is. Don't ever shop on the internet at night when you're under the influence of pain medicines. I couldn't even remember making some of the purchases that arrived during my recovery.. Now I'm about to start the task of tossing out a lot of them. *sigh* What a waste of money.
It’s done forgive yourself. The way I view mistakes is opportunity for learning /growth ❤️ it’s really cool that you’re trying to help other people not do that.
We’ve all bought cosmetic garbage before. I bought a bunch of junk after my mom died, and I wanted little presents to come to the house because I was just trying to do little things to try to drag myself out of it. That’s just what I did. I don’t regret it because it was so hard imagine going through so many surgeries. Look how far you’ve come. Good story. Thanks for sharing. Good luck.
Oh I know what you mean. You can repurpose some cleansers as hand wash or even body wash. Not everything should be thrown out. I found that to be helpful since I’m speaking from experience. 😩 We’ve all been there one way or another.

I just come across your video. For the first time. I live in Florida, in a place that is know for one of the world's #1, beaches and Seafood. So to say I practically live at the beach. Yes, now I am trying to reverse all the damage of always being in the sun. I am glad I stumbled across this video tonight. Thanks and may you have a Blessed day.
@Doc, can you tell me what you think about cryo for the face? I think it might be said a little differently. I had one procedure done, and it worked wonders. I wanna do it a few more times, but just ain't too sure.
I don't disagree with the sun protection but I completely disagree with European being indoors. I came from Italian family and I live in Canada where is very cold and we don't get much sun. My family in Italy all day long stay in the sun because they are farmers. Also they are always outdoors talking to ppl and going for walks after dinner and to cafes. I sometimes start to feel like maybe there is something someone isn't telling me cause my aunt from Italys skin is better than mine, she's almost 60 and I'm 46

I just started on Obagi and I'm 65..might be too late to see results but does seem to be worth the expense.

What is your skincare routine?
Hi, What products do you use, please? Many thanks ^_^
Why switch, what you're doing is obviously working 😊
Yes. The products are expensive. I ordered a couple of times ,but they work. My husband asked me what I was doing and that my skin looked like a million dollars. (I said looked because I couldn’t afford to keep buying it 😮
Yes he upped the prices as well.

And do it now. Dont wait till you have one of your own to sell 😊
Get on TH-cam and watch Alex Ferguson. All he does is review redlight products and talks with different companies. He is totally the expert on all the ins and outs of red light.
I'm 68, with no wrinkles. I have never used sunscreen.
Well, Sun is good for your health.

I’ve been in the process of undoing years of sun worship. I started sunscreen about 5 years ago, at age 54. My skin looks much more luminous with using actives, sunscreen, some lasers, and now microneedling. It’s definitely an uphill battle undoing all the damage I did.

Genetics also play a huge role, but yes, you're right.

Great point 👍
I've recently found out (Mayo clinic) that sleeping on your back is not a good position, it's actually the worst sleeping position. Supposedly sleeping on your side is the best position
Back sleeping might better for your face, but side sleeping promotes brain detoxification pathways (learned of this from an Andrew huberman podcast). Makes me feel better about being a lifelong side sleeper.
Would you mind telling me which Korean mask you use? I love Numbezin products myself

I really like your approach to skin care. There is a lot of good old fashioned common sense involved. Staying away from the sun unless you are protected with sunscreen is huge and also a clean lifestyle. It works! Excellent skin care routine as well as The Mediterranean diet ..,will not go outside usually without a hat. I'm not talking a tiny hat either but a substantial size like a bucket hat. Yes it can muss your hair so you need to take a comb with you. Not a big deal.

What can we do when sunblocks, moisturiser and other skincare causes us to sweat profusely?
Try switching to lightweight and non-comedogenic formulas, or ask your doctor for personalized advice!

Consistency in skin care is just as important what is used on the skin.

I have a bottle of a very good face peel in my bathroom which I have been told I can use 3 times a week.
So today will be day one.
I do use spf every day 365 days of the year.
SPF 50 don't know if that is to
High to use all year round. 😊
What is better niacinamide or hyaluronic acid please
Especially for sensitive skin
62 is definitely not young. I’m 50 and not young
Awesome information. And I must say Dr. Karam skin is gorgeous!
I agree! 😍
thanks so much. I owe it to karammdskin.com/products/karam-trifecta
I was thinking the same thing. 😂
I have great skin at 53 , dehydrated skin only issue during the Winter
Key is to find a rich cream moisturizer. Try the Youth Activating Cream Concentrate from Invity.
You are totally right dr. Karam.
Thank you!
You are so welcome!
❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂🎉😢😮😅😊

I'm 61 and have always used good skincare products, as I live in France. Also my dermatologist injects less botox on the 2 zones mentioned, so hopefully I'll stay good a little longer. As usual your video is honest and informative.
You're so honest. God bless you ❤😊🙂😉
he is. the info is correct. just don't fall into the trap of buying his overpriced products. oh well, at least this is a truly valuable 'infomercial". He'd make WAY more money lowering his prices just a bit.
I personally think keeping it minimal is best for skin
Rubbish
Thanks
Excellent advice, wish I knew more when younger.
Dr. Amir, since your trio doesn't include growth factors, which GF products do you recommend? Thank you from sunny and dry Madrid.
You ROCK!!! I use your skin care line, including the polish that I LOVE!! I will do my part and see you in the future for you to work your MAGIC 😊 your talent is a blessing to so many!!!!
Love this!! Thanks so much
I wish I could afford it 😊
How about AHAs, are they good for your skin, and if so, how many times a week should you use them?
Am I the only male here? Men should have a skin care routine too! Well, hope they do, it is nothing wrong with this, and greetings to all the women and girls here! 👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I just found your page and I'm impressed my question is this I am 52 years old and my skin was looking great until I turn 50 and I went through a year of a rough time in my marriage really stressful really overwhelming and I noticed my skin went to hell like it looks great until then and now my skin looks terrible I I aged at least 10 years my skin looks horrible now is there certain thing that's going to help me do it before I start now at the this age or is it just too late for me
Please help
Dr. Karam - Would you recommend nightly use of the aloe Vera gel (direct from plant) as a mask on face for 5-10 minutes? What’s your thoughts? Thanks!
I have experienced that if you get Aloe Vera into your eyes, it is extremely painful! So if you want to use a product on your face that has Aloe Vera in it, please be careful so that the product does not get into your eyes!
I don't recommend that treatment specifically but aloe vera is a good skincare ingredient.
@@bonblue4993- thanks for your input!
@@dramirkaram- what would you recommend? I’m planning to use the Illuminate cream this weekend and I’m afraid my skin will peel. Plus the moisturizer creams do not work on my sensitive skin. Suggestions?

(HSN)
Wait so is the ordinary a bad brand?? I saw it in the cover but no mention of it! Thank you so much for this wonderful video
I started using Ordinary with hyaluronic acid. Not sure why he x'd it ... Unless he looked for a quick and easy picture to post.
U saw no benefit with HA but the Vic C serum is very good
@@ann-marie2375 I'm still waiting for any HA to make my skin look more plump, but only been at it for 2 weeks.
Dear Dr Amir .....is POLISH safe for rosacea skin ???

Great straight to the point and classic advice! I love skincare and how u minimize everything uncomplicated
We’ve all been there one way or another.
@@elisabethbaro9871 gruss aus Deutschland, vollkommen richtig. Creme kann mann sich auch auf trockene Arme und Beine auftragen.peeling für den Körper verwenden.
Thanks, I just found out I am on the right path. Cleansing and peeling, I will improve.
Mediterranean skin tends to have some natural protection from photo damage. Conversely, Australia is known as the "skin cancer Capitol of the world".
