- It's hard not to be impressed by what Coros is offering in their Dura bike computer for $249. I'm looking forward to testing the Dura to see if it delivers as advertised. Is there anything you think the Dura is missing? Is there a better GPS out there for gravel and bikepacking? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

I've had a Coros watch for three years and I can confirm they are excellent quality! Very accurate and stable.
About time for a new watch for me, I'll have to look into them. You know what model you have and would you recommend it?
@@backofthegravelpack Apex Pro, yes I would highly recommend it. Fantastic battery life too!
Awesome, thanks for the suggestion!
If Garmin put out something with those specs it would be at least $800. I wonder how the dial will handle water. You might want to spray it with some water to see if it does anything funky.
Yea had same thought on price. I'm sure it will get plenty of water in the next month or so, so we will find out if it keeps it out!
I'm still riding with the original Garmin Edge 500, and wanting to upgrade but price has been the barrier. I love the idea of solar and battery life. I'm very interested. Love your videos.
I'm hoping they get some of the app updates finished in the next few weeks and I can get an idea of full functionality. So far the solar and battery have been impressive though.
You should test it out along side your wahoo/etc to see if it differs on accuracy if you haven't planned on that.
Yep that is on my list for sure, appreciate the suggestion! Accuracy, mileage, elevation, etc.
Great price point for sure. I am skeptical about the solar performance, though. My Garmin 840 Solar doesn't gain even remotely that kind of power even in direct sunlight. It helps, but isn't a replacement for a plug. And if your gravel rides are in tree-covered routes, don't overly rely on solar. Still, I'd like to hear how this thing does for you on some trips.
Yep will do. Bit tough to separate out solar vs battery performance, but just going to keep track of time using it and what battery status says and go from there.
Sure wish they were still making their smart helmets.
Never had a chance to try one out, you?
Are the strava’s live segments working on it?
As of 6/21/24, they are not working for me, but coros does have that listed as a planned feature that will come online at some point. I'd don't know more about the timeline of when that will be.
Does it work with varia?
I have not tested, but they are advertising as any bluetooth or ant+ accessory, including radar, as compatible.
From what I’ve seen it’s a product that shouldn’t be released yet, because solar seems to be the only thing that’s functioning properly. And turn by turn works with phone so if you lose connection to phone theirs no turn by turn. 120 hours is amazing but is that really the most important thing. I don’t know I think I’d be upset if none of features actually are working correctly but promises they’re coming. Let’s hope it’s not a long wait.
Oh interesting, what other features have you heard aren't functioning properly? I always have my phone with me on a ride so I'm not as worried about that issue that some folks may be, but I'll be interested in what isn't working well otherwise.
@@backofthegravelpack watch Shane Miller - GPLama he’s probably the top guy on this stuff. Basically it just seems they’re premature releasing. Very in depth and is setup to testing computers! DC Rainmaker is another for this kind of gear. You’ll get hooked! And not everyone is a total data nerd and really a lot of people just want mph distance and you’re probably fine and I think from my understanding they’re eventually getting it up.
Yep I've watched a fair amount of both of their channels, just wondered what specifically you were referencing that wasn't functioning properly.
@@backofthegravelpack gplama shows the Varia radar not working in a couple instances when rerouting. And MANY other issues.
Interesting, appreciate the heads up!
