love your new horse! absolutely no hate, but the second horse that u said was spooking at nothing, i think he was just uncomfortable with the amount of pressure in his mouth. like maybe his previous owners just had lighter and softer hands. just constructive criticism!

Huh that second horse either looked weak or off in its hind, especially in the corners and on the circle. Like his right hind was weak or would give out every few steps. He probs wouldn't have passed a flexion test
I think the second horse might've just been uncomfortable with the amount of pressure on the bit or have some sort of pain in the end of their back or possibly in their teeth? Do not mean this as hate! You did a good job and riding new horses isn't always easy! If you ever expirience situations like that again I would possibly suggest trying to go in smaller circles instead of the whole arena to calm them down. Your new horse looks wonderful and you seem like a perfect match!

You would be in pain if you were being pulled in the mouth constantly. That is awful riding, she needs to release with her hands especially over fences 😳
i don't think the 2nd horse was scared of something... probably you were pulling too hard on all of that shit that he have in his mouth, on his mouth...
Its just a normal bit though? And an english noseband? Pretty standard. But she was sitting back a lot, so it could have problems in its spine, it could also be 100 other things or nothing at all. Some horses just spook. It could also be that she couldnt ride with that bit, i have some bit that i just, as a person dont gell with even when other people can ride with it fine on the same horse. Also yeah, she was clutching the reins a little, probably because she became a little scared when it spooked the first time.
@@TKDDLJ09 it was a gag bit, they appear to look like a regular snaffle but when you pull the bit is lifted up into the horses mouth, they work best on horses that like to tow their rider around, or horses that like to grab the bit, they also work well for horses that over bend.

Stunning horses! I remember trying a horse called jet and he was a Arab horse so he puts his head up when he trots. And when you put your feet/foot behind the girl he canters. I wasn’t expecting the trot so I put my feet behind the girth on accident and he cantered. Wasn’t the one
You rode the 2nd horse fine! I viewed a horse very similar, she was in a 3 ring gag on the bottom option and was still extremely strong - she dropped her shoulder and spun then run off, would lock her jaw and go behind the vertical then bolt so I couldn't slow her down. You rode fine, its very hard to ride a new horse perfectly especially when viewing horses as the owners are watching you!
You’re such a great rider! Don’t worry about the second horse, I have the same problem hehe, my pony (Luna) she’s very strong, she doesn’t spook but sometimes she runs away and I can’t stop her after one or two laps around the arena lol, so don’t worry I understand. Xx
My horse is similar to the one that spooked, he was started at the age of 3-4 and then put out on pasture when he was 4-5, they only recently remembered that they had him, he got sold, and he had his first jump in November. This has caused him discomfort in his lower back making him spook and buck when something is near that area, also if the saddle slips a tiny bit further back he spooks and will run off🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
I know some people are saying to much hand for the second horse but I'm thinking not enough? (like when he was trotting and not spooking) personally my horse will lean into the reins the higher we jump (thats how she was trained in Germany) so maybe he felt like he couldn't feel you and maybe was insecure? I'm not sure just a guess

Horse number 2 is a lot like my horse. Over sensitive to the rider and spooks and nothing and then can’t calm down after 😂 takes a LOT of time to crack a horse like that 😅
Grace Amelia you rode him so well though! Assuming there was nothing wrong pain related - that’s exactly how you ride a horse like that, sit quiet and ignore it basically. It’s taken me 2 years to get used to my boy 😂 I agree with some of the comments, some horses present like this when in pain but my horse has had every check and he’s genuinely fine, just an anxious boy 🤭
Although in some of the videos you have really still hands and soft hands, but in some videos it looks like you get t a bit tense and pulled idk what you were feeling and what got trimmed out of the vid, but I feel the first spook buddy had nothing to spook at but the rest of the spooks I feel were your hands. I think on top of that he’s got some sort of dental issues and hind leg problems. Next time if you can’t immediately get off maybe give all your reins instead of holding back, and bouncing in the saddle. No hate just correction that may be useful x
Yeah I tried giving my rein to him because I was worried he was going to rear but they said not to do that again so then I just got v tense all of the time which didn’t help.
Tbh i was pulling quite hard when he jolted forward as i didnt want him to bolt of with me, but they kept telling me to have a stronger hand which tbh i was so confused about aha, thank you for explaining it nicely though xx

My friend has 4 horses and all they pay for atm is the land cause they just eat grass so they don’t need food ! They pay £216 for all 4 a month !!!!!
I wouldn't touch that horse with a barge-pole, it clearly has a very weak backend and is pain. An injured horse isn't suited towards anyone's ability, the fact that the owners are selling it is disgusting and dangerous.
Not hating but that second horse didnt look in pain, seemed to me that there was too much pressure on his mouth and you had leg on him constantly, only saying this as experienced the same thing when buying my showjumper and we asked for him to come out of a cheltenham and into a snaffle for our second viewing and was a totally different horse, buddy just couldnt escape that pressure so started to bounce, not saying these people who are saying pain are wrong but just takking from experience with a horse thats extremely similar, no hate meant just speaking from experience, thanks

If the problem were the contact in mouth and your ride I would make u down of my horse (if it were mine). But well, obviously it wasn't the problem cause ur ride was fine and in my opinion, gentle. The ONLY thing I can't understand is how u didn't came off the horse when u saw that, I mean, I think u were also more respectfull with the owner of that poor horse than maybe I would've been.
The way you ride the second horse no wonder it “spooked like that” it’s a sensitive horse you should of know that when you got in you were not riding it like a sensitive horse at all

fix ur eq before getting a horse. close you hip angle more, lean a bit forewoed. you are so far back no wonder that sedond horse was in pain. your butt is almost behind the saddle. keep your hands quiet, heels down, and soften your seat. you shouldnt be jumpoing that high.

shoulders back, and chose either a half seet of a full seat. no flopping around on his back its disgusting and my eyes are cringing
