i so agree!! i started jumping after 4 years of riding and then i did little stuff and after a while i stopped bc it was too hot then i have not done more than a foot and have been riding for 5 years. you should really perfect walk trot canter and even learn how to bend and be collected before jumping so in case something unexpected happens you could not fall or get hurt.
I dislike when people jump too early like they want to just get it all over and done with and be pro. its a long process getting to the hard stuff....Most people cant even canter or sit in the saddle properly and end up falling off when the horse steps slightly wrong over a cross pole...XD
HarlouQuinn same. There was someone in the eventing community that went from being an absolute beginner to training level in three years. It’s just not safe nor have you learned all the stuff you need to be successful.

Equestrian 057 my dad has actually ridden a horse but it galloped with him and now he’s quite scared when me and my sister ride so he leaves us to it but my mum enjoys watching again my family have never said anything negative about what I do for a hobby because my Nannor and grandad actually had a pony at one time called barnaby so we have all had experiences with horses in some way
The eventing ones always make me incredibly nervous. Imagine you are going out on cross country, like you do often, then when you come up to a log, your horse just decides to not put enough effort in and then he breaks his leg and his career is over.
I do eventing and I'm on an eventing team that does upper level. Yes cross country is dangerous but there are safety regulations for the jumps if the horse hits a jump pins will be released and the log will fall to a degree. Also, the horse our boots wear are specially designed to protect the horse from solid jumps
Well My horse had a filly. We paired him with Hector an older grey pony to be her field mate as she has been weaned of her mum, my mare. Now hector was an old grumpy welsh gelding who i had loaned when i was about 11 since I’ve now been there 8 years, i started their when i was 9 and he had always been grumpy and lazy. But when i tell you his personality flips with Nova I mean it, he grooms her plays with her, doesn’t let any other horses near her and he acts like a protective dad. It is the sweetest thing, yet i walk over to him and her and he pins his ears and walks off. Like hello?
It took me three years before my stable let me canter. Apparently you need to know how to post on the right diagonal to learnt to canter. A few months after I got my diagonals right they let me canter.

I love ponies. The mare I have on part loan now is only 2 cm over the pony limit. I've ridden ponies most of my life, even the small ones before I gained weight.
I was at the barn and we had an eventful but fun ride and someone said “you’ll do better next time” and I said “well I didn’t fall so it was a good ride to me” and everyone was laughing I joined in acting like it was a joke even though it was low key true. 😂😂🤦♀️

That’s great that your dedicated but I would definitely go to a couple shows and ask your trainer if your even ready for a horse of your own because it is a HUGE commitment. And a lot of money

My trainer forced me to jump after one week..... I’ve been riding continuously for almost 2 years now and have jumped 3 foot. Everyone is different 😊 but don’t worry my trainer is nice but he yells a lot XD)))

I personally feel the title of this video should be named tik toks for jumpers because that is not the one sport you can do on a horse. For example me and my horse do endurance usually 25 miles, there is also rodeo sports that i guess don’t fall into this. This video could also be called Tik Toks for english equestrians because most of these are for english saddeled or jumping saddeled horses.There are many different types of saddles not just western and english. To help others on the whole ‘jumping in two weeks’, i’ll say this. When i was seven after maybe 4 lessons i jumped and well, the horse went faster then i expected after the jump and i fell off. I’m going to start riding again now years later and i’ll update this comment when I jump and how well i went over the jump. Different trainer this time as well. Day 1. Okay so no, didn’t jump today, (though i’m not complaining) this new girl is pretty nice. I was given a choice whether to wear a helmet or not. We also went over trot and walk as well as how to tack up. (I never was really taught a few years ago) At the end she took me out of the arena and went on a trail ride with me. A quick reminder, she was on her horse the whole time right by my side. Now some background knowledge: This women has been riding since she was 2, and has been barrel racing since she was young. And yes, i rode western. Day 2. I rode a different horse this time, one a bit slower but harder to do things on command. She thought i was ready to canter but I just wasn’t able to get into a full canter, i could only get the start before going back into a trot. Also i learned she doesn’t jump and only does barrel racing so if I plan to jump it’ll be with another trainer, though I plan to stay with this trainer for at least a few months as I really quite like her. Something to note is she has given me the option to try a few different horses each time as every one is different and so is every horse, so far i prefer the first horse i rode. I’ll update my next few times then update around every three weeks.

as a person horse rider... i don’t personally count it as a sport, you just sit there and the horse does all the physical work really, the workout part is taking care of the horse and cleaning up after it

1:15 what’s funny is, I was at riding lessons for four years and my instructor never taught me how to jump she never let me canter either. Saying I was “too green” i’ve also never competed.. i’ve had to learn most of my skills on my own. I’d like to say that I’m a pretty good rider.

A quick reminder, she was on her horse the whole time right by my side. Now some background knowledge: This women has been riding since she was 2, and has been barrel racing since she was young. And yes, i rode western.
Day 2. I rode a different horse this time, one a bit slower but harder to do things on command. She thought i was ready to canter but I just wasn’t able to get into a full canter, i could only get the start before going back into a trot. Also i learned she doesn’t jump and only does barrel racing so if I plan to jump it’ll be with another trainer, though I plan to stay with this trainer for at least a few months as I really quite like her. Something to note is she has given me the option to try a few different horses each time as every one is different and so is every horse, so far i prefer the first horse i rode. I’ll update my next few times then update around every three weeks.

as a person horse rider... i don’t personally count it as a sport, you just sit there and the horse does all the physical work really, the workout part is taking care of the horse and cleaning up after it
What ? No lol, like have you been on a horse? Have you actually rode? Have you used your balance, your seat, your leg, your hands or sometimes your voice to control the horse? Have you tried to give a horse an idea for it of where to go, what to do, at which speed? With just using your body? Uuh? What , have you got any lesson?

It’s sad how some people judge people who do horseback and don’t BELIVE it’s a real sport. It issssssss. They just don’t see the amount of muscle needed to ride and succeed. It’s just as hard of a sport as any. ❤️

*flies are everywhere, horse is so skinny, we never do her hooves, terrified of people, it's snowing in Canada* I'm laughing so hard at the fact that she's showing what normal care taking looks like in the Equine world by showing how her horse is perfectly taken care of and there's literally no flied anywhere.

1:15 what’s funny is, I was at riding lessons for four years and my instructor never taught me how to jump she never let me canter either. Saying I was “too green” i’ve also never competed.. i’ve had to learn most of my skills on my own. I’d like to say that I’m a pretty good rider.
