    exceptional playing! great tone! If you don't mind me asking you, how are you recording your guitar? are you micing and amp, or going through a sim?
    What string gauge do you use?
    best,

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man, usually I either use a set of 9's gauge strings ( 9 - 42 ) or hybrid slinky which is combination of 9s and 10s ( so 9 to 46 ). I only use Guitar rig 5 software in combination with an analog pedal ( Blackstar Ht - Dist ) to dirty up a signal a bit so it's a very modest set up, nothing fancy or expensive, cheers!

      @@chasingfrets thank you. I appreciate the info. Very impressive. You playing is very inspiring to me.
      Any suggestions on hand synchonization? Thx. God bless!

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nc1969 The thing about Yngwie is that he uses a specific picking techniques meaning it's not so much about classic hand synchronization exercises. The most important one is economy picking when playing ascending scales across strings and his unique ' down-up-pull off' approach when tackling 3 note per string descending scales, for example - if he was to play 13-12-10 on high E string and the same thing on the B he would pick it: DOWN on 13 - UP on 12 and then a pull of tp the 10th which enables his picking hand to change strings with a comfortable downstroke on the B. I suggest checking out Troy Grady's series on YT Cracking The Code where he explains in detail mechanics of Yngwie's picking :th-cam.com/video/iUcHE9ZxjHc/w-d-xo.html

    • @nc1969
      @nc1969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chasingfrets ` yes, got it. I have all of Troy's stuff as well as Chris Brooks.
      I have a pretty good handle on the mechanics of Yngwies techniques.
      Just wondering if you had a particular sequence or method use to synch up the single string stuff... I guess the 6note riff/chunking is the way to go.
      Anyway, just wanted your perspective on that one aspect. Thank you for the reply.
      Best,

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nc1969 Yeah for single string stuff I practice just typical 4 and 6 note patterns pretty much, but also I found that pedal tone licks can also be quite effective in synchronizing your hands. I would also recommend Yngwie's open string licks, very tricky but great exercise, check out my lesson 'Faster then the speed of light' intro lick, that can be a great technical exercise believe me, anyway all the best, cheers!
