One thing I saw was when Agatha said to her son “I cannot heal you” (a potions witch) “I cannot protect you” (a protection witch) “And I cannot divine as when she will return” (a divination witch). It’s like she was stealing all of their powers so she would be able to attempt to do all those things for Nicky. And before that Nicky asked if she can make him food and she said no (that’s kind of a green witch being able to grow food and plants and everything). Another theory I saw was she was killing all of those people to offset the balance for keeping Nicky alive who should have been dead six years ago, staving off Death to keep her son longer. A third theory suggests killing them was so Agatha could gain enough power to fight Death herself so she could keep her son. They are all wonderful theories that make a lot of sense.
An Irish reactor (Kate O’Shaughnessy) who I enjoy was watching that moment and just as Agatha was finishing her list of things she could do, she chimed in, "but I cannot cook." which made me laugh. Watching the J2O reaction mashups can be fun for all of the interesting and fun comments.
Also, the showrunner (who co-wrote the episode) said the to-offset-the-balance and distract-Death theories were not something they meant to imply. Rio, when doing her job, doesn't work like that. The time was a gift. And Rio was unlikely to forget about her lover's child. She also said that she welcomes fan interpretations. I dislike that those theories contradict some of Rio's coding as a neutral Green Witch. I love that about the way this show wrote her. But to each her head canon. It's art and the writers' intent is only half of that equation.
Hence the "special treatment" Rio said she gave Agatha. Death wouldn't give anyone else more time, just because they asked, but she did for Agatha, because she loved her.
Most people dont notice Rio crying after agatha died, even if its really subtle as well as her covering her chest, a.k.a her heart. Agatha was her heart. And no one can convince me otherwise, also that Rio didnt know she was killing her, you can see it in her face even as its happening, you can see her confusion. It wasnt "the kiss of death" per say, it was Agatha taking her power. But this was her way of saying she fogives Rio, as we also see when she says "sometimes boys die." They love eachother so much i cant, and its crazy that the literal embodiment and concept of DEATH loves her SO much its insane.😭 I could talk about how much they love eachother and how much Rio wants her for hours. Ik it may seem like Agatha doesnt love her but COME ON, SHE SO OBVIOUSLY DOES AND ITS HEARTBREAKING.😭 In that case, even if its a joke, STOP BEING SO MEAN TO RIO ITS NOT HER FAULT PLEASE😭✋️
@@jeslycruz tbf Rio isn't killing people, technically. Agatha says in the very first episode that she's not allowed to kill Agatha (or anyone) cause it's not allowed. She's just a grim reaper who guides the dead to the afterlife and keeps the balance of life and death. She only comes when someone's at death's door step or if they fucked with the sacred balance, which Agatha and Billy did.
The reason rio says “I can only offer time” is because if she let him live it was affect the balance of life and death, the same reason she hates billy and because she gave agatha extra time that’s why she called it special treatment
Billy has similar powers to Wanda, so since he created the road, he reshaped reality and made it technically real. Agatha is also a ghost mentor to Wanda in the comics but in the mcu it's Billy instead
Billy was with Wanda for a week and he doesn’t remember her. Rebecca raised him for 3 years so it makes sense that he sees her as his mom. But hes still curious about Wanda and his brother, like adopted son wondering about his birth family
Billy doesn’t remember Westview, he doesn’t remember Wanda as his mom. All he knew when he woke up was he was suppose to be William Kaplan and Jeff and Rebecca are parents. Only until Ralph told him, he realized he was Billy. Also combined with what Wanda, it make more sense he would see her as a mom
If you pay attention, Billy knew who he was from the moment he recovered consciousness in William Kaplan's body. That is the reason for the affirmations before the mirror that he was William Kaplan. He had no memories of William's life prior to that moment.
Yes. He also remembered the name "Tommy." And he told Agatha that he could still feel him, probably because he's a witch and they are twins. Oh, and he could apparently read minds.
@@LeeCarlsonIf you pay attention, Billy literally told his boyfriend he doesnt remember anything before his accident. He thought he was William Kaplan but he knew he was different because he can read minds and he had powers
Jesly, just so you know, Nicholas doesn't have a father, he is Rio's son too, this was confirmed and she wanted him so much because, of the fact that since he is literally the son of death, he should have been born dead, so she didn't lie when told Agatha that gave her "special treatment" because she really gave all the time she could at her limit. (I'm sorry, my english is kind of bad)
This wasn’t confirmed, the showrunner Jac Schaeffer said that they left the parentage of Nicky intentionally ambiguous… the theory that Rio was somehow involved is interesting, but definitely not confirmed lol.
To further clarify, Jac did said they chose not to get into the parentage and it was open to interpretation. So your head canon is as valid as any other. She also said that they chose to cast a kid who looked like Aubrey Plaza. So it's not as if they didn't consider it. One reason she didn't want to get into her personal head canon (those words weren't used) is because anything that doesn't get into the show, once the characters leave her control, she has no say over what Marvel might do. So, what's in the show is in the show. "I welcome fan interpretations." Edit: fix typos
@@ParticleZon Right, it’s certainly possible. I personally like the head canon of Rio being the “father” and have no interest in some random man being introduced down the line. Though if Rio was some kind of parent to Nicky I’d find her absence in most of ep 9 a bit strange and aggravating lol. I do think it’s pretty clear that Nicky died by ordinary human causes (“sometimes, boys die”), not due to any uniquely dramatic cosmic fate. And that was what was so tragic for Agatha, that for all her power, she couldn’t prevent it.
@@normaladjacent Ah, what a shame it wasn't confirmed, I had seen something on Twitter that seemed to confirm this so I believed it, but even though it wasn't confirmed, there were some aspects in the production, like the fact that the child looked a lot like Aubrey Plaza who plays Rio, makes me really believe in this theory.
She made a deal with the devil. When she was born into her cover she was in the same situation as her mom. Born evil, but damn Rio might actually be the father, Maury. Or most likely she created Nicky when she was developing her power and defied the rules of her coven.
Rio IS Death. The ultimate arbiter. The ORIGINAL Green Witch is all about the balance of life and death, without which the world as we know it cannot exist.
Heyyy had a great time with your reactions. As to why Agatha steals power from witches, her trauma from her mom telling her she is fundamentally evil and Agatha’s original coven trying to execute her for the way she was born taught her that all witches would see her the same way, so she starts killing them as a form of preemptive self-defense. Beyond it making her stronger, there is also an addiction subtext to the euphoric way stealing powers makes her feel.
Agatha has never been on the Witches' Road that Billy conjured into reality. However, Agatha IS the only surviving witch who has ever walked the road in the song, as that was the road that Agatha walked with her son, Nicholas. The road of which she is the only survivor.

Billy has had two distinct designs for his superhero costume in the comics. The design in this series is more a combination of both than accurate to one version.
heyy i love your vids and was waiting for this so much ❤ Agatha was killing other witches to distract rio from taking nicky, agatha was piling up bodies for death basically. Also billy created the road subconsciously
No way was Rio going to be distracted from the special treatment she afforded her lover's child. (Deliberately ignoring theories of potential parentage.) Agatha -was- hoping to distract Rio from noticing Billy at all.
Agatha at first took powers to distract Rio/Death from Nicky. The day she stopped and didn't unalive anyone was the night rio showed up and took Nicholas
Also, Wanda only altered Westview. The thing she created in it are Vision and her children. (Which is impressive as it is. She created life.) Billy created the road. I loved this show! Agatha is killing the witches to keep Rio busy with their bodies, the night she didnt kill witches Rio came and took Nicky...😢 and after this I think she believes that she might could bring him back with enough Power.
I don’t why people keep saying this. It’s not stated or even hinted in the show. First, Rio is a cosmic entity. Agatha killing a few witches isn’t gonna distract Rio from anything. Second, the thought that the night she doesn’t kill witches is the night that Nicky is taken implies that for six years Agatha killed witches every single day. That just doesn’t make any sense. Agatha kills witches because she doesn’t trust them based on what her coven did to her in the 1600s, and because her special skill is to steal power. That’s why she was so strong in WandaVision.
