When you are a 450 year old Sicilian witch, you learn some... killer card tricks! I love the way that as she begins to understand what she is travelling towards, she gains control over when she goes
It's my favorite episode. I already noticed how those half sentences were fitting together , but just like with DARK, the fun is not in knowing what lies ahead but figuring out how it all fits together. The Death reveal was also somewhat telegraphed. But many people are, of course, aware of the Funko Pop debacle. Both Billy (by another name, do you know that name?) and Death have their own Funko Pops. Then, the tarot cards were used as promotional material. The figure on the Death tarot card looks more female than the classical Grim Reaper. She holds her signature dagger and she holds something that now looks more like a flower but might be a black heart. Rio had talked about her black heart early on. (The other tarot cards are equally telling, especially if you did not count the number of bodies that dropped into those swords.) The Three of Pentacles shows 6 witchy people unite. You can clearly make out Billy in his signature pants. But it is also obviously Rio and not Sharon in green... especially since the green cape hides the gray/black robes underneath. She says the Magick had pulled her down or "up" and she crawled from Sharon's grave because she was doing her job there. Being in the neighborhood never talked about Westview. Agatha is her wound because she has not forgiven Rio for "taking her son" when he died. (Which, btw. gives triple meaning to the Three of Swords card as Agatha's heart was thrice broken, when her mother put her on trial, when her son died, and when Rio would insist on taking him. But you could also see Nicky as the maiden, Evanora as the mother, and Death is the ultimate crone). Then she isn't subject to the curse during the fire trial and she loves at the notion that Death is among them during the spirit trial. Or maybe she was moving the planchette. After Alice's death, she stays behind because she has to work. Her name literally means the living river, but you might say it is the river of live or the natural flow of everything mortal.
What an amazing episode this was. Easily the best of the season - not that the others are bad. But this was another level. In fact I think this is my favourite episode from any of the marvel shows. The writing. The setup. The post offs. The call backs. The acting. All phenomenal. Can’t praise this one enough. Loved your reactions to this too. I’ve also seen others speculate that Lilia didn’t die at the end but rather she was reborn to live her life again. Remember in the teen episode last week she said that the death card could also mean great change. So we may not have seen the last of her. But regardless this was sheer brilliance. Bring on the two episode finale. 🙌 Thanks Wilson. 💪😎 Thanks. EJ. 💪😎
Glad finally understand why Billy didnt consider wanda as his mom. Cause he was only with her for like 4 days or something 😭 while he was with the Kaplans for 3. Actually in the comics he dont call wanda mom too.

Great reaction. I've been enjoying this show from the start, but wow, this episode was on another level!
