What do they mean with that "sexist" messaging? I can seriously go on and on. Women are fine with "sexism" when it benefits THEM. Liberals like yourself were and are complete hypocrites. My first job in 1990 was at minimum wage, $3.10 per hour.
$5.50 was middle class back in 1972.
Once "All in the Family" hit the screen, TV would never be the same (mercifully)!
You're getting $5.50 an hour? I don't even get that much. And we're in 2024
That shit at the end is some of the truest words I've heard.
Was Always Classic how Archie would reference the bible when making his points.
Yeah cause the bible suck.
I love when he questioned what the bible has to do with Jews, lol.
@Matt Beeman
What happen to the bible resist not evil. And rejoice when all manner of evil is spoken against you, and turn the other cheek. With that being said your mama suck!
Just Timm The Kings English...
Time has proven that Archie was RIGHT.
And the Meathead dead wrong.
Agree
@@MelinaAcosta569 back when America was tough.
Women have just as much right to equality as men does as much I dont agree with Archie's views is how he says it is what makes it funny!
@Henry Smith thus makes you a meathead snowflake.
Archie bumker was absolutely correct on this issue.
Isn't it amazing.......40 years after this is made....the liberals still use the same talking points.....its amazing.
True dat.
Because we are right. And sexism still exists.
And the Big lib cities are still in shambles ....
@Deborah Hoffman
Yeah, it does exist. Why are men STILL expected to pay for dinner and entertainment on dates? Why is it still "women and children first" and not just "children first"? Why are there "ladies' nights" where they get into venues for free and not men? Why are car insurance companies allowed to charge men higher rates than women? Why does the spa I go to get away with hiring ONLY women as an explicit policy? (Btw, I'm FINE with them only hiring women.) Why do women get away with telling men to "man up"? What do they mean with that "sexist" messaging? I can seriously go on and on. Women are fine with "sexism" when it benefits THEM.
Liberals like yourself were and are complete hypocrites. "Equality" is just something you can bludgeon men over the head with to get what you want in the moment and then forget about a half a second later when something about the "old fashioned" values will benefit you over a man.
Icecreamforcrowtoo First of all, you know nothing about me. I don’t behave as you claim these other women do. I have always taken care of myself and not “used” men. But, a sexist man wanted a divorce from me because I was not dependent and submissive enough for him. Go figure. Yes. sexism does exist and it is still mostly men who are misogynists.
He has a point.
Men work hard for their woman and family because they expect to be appreciated for all the hard effort.
Take that away and introduce a woman who won't cook and clean yet still expect you to pay for the dates, be romantic, buy random flowers, open doors, pull chairs, etc and then you wonder why men don't want anything serious anymore and women can't keep any good men.
Archie is on point, a rib is a cheaper cut.
Archie, a 1970's #MGTOW
@@Cjnw Can't be married with a daughter and her bum boyfriend and still go your own way.
It might be something he would CONSIDER, but a dedicated husband and father he was. He was also a homeowner on the equivalent of $13 an hour in today's money.
archie was so real!
Keywords: "He use to run the forklift." This isn't about equal pay. It's about cutbacks. If there was a newly employed guy, hired at the same time, doing the same job and she got paid less, then she would have an argument. But, the company got rid of some guy and replaced him with a cheaper alternative.
archie bunker and al bundy ...two of the greats..
Kids in their 20's cannot even imagine the World of the 1940's and 50's. Sexism and even racism were pretty much accepted premises in a lot of areas. I'm an amateur Sociologist that loves to study people and trends and how they relate to the Military and Economics. To me it's a great Hobby and makes me feel better about a lot of what I see, or have seen, in society. Makes me feel better because I understand it and we mostly fear what we don't know. Peace.
I am so glad that I lived during this time I won't ever forget it
You had to wait a whole week to see the show
Now they have women running fortune 500 companies, yet feminist are still screaming inequality.
Yep and complaining "where have the good men gone?". Simple they just don't want a women thats hit the wall and spending all her time away from home.
???? 5.50? todays that $29.46??? for a forklift worker damm thats high wage
I agree, my grandfather raised a family in the 1950's on a grocery baggers wages. Even bought a new home. Dollars aren't what they used to be.
How much of the population would give their arm to have a $29.46 an hour job today.
At the time, Playboy was actually very progressive towards feminism, equal pay, in its articles and editorials.
Those can officially be called "the good old days" of t.v. used to watch archie, the Jefferson's, and good times.
Sanford and Son, as well.
Like my Dad always says everyone wants to be equal until the bill shows up.
"What's the point of a man working hard all his life trying to get someplace if all he's gonna do is wind up equal?"
This is 100% correct. A man who works hard can't expect a promotion or a raise, because the hardest workers are usually men and the trend would get the employer sued for discrimination.
But, but, but, Archie's employer is a union shop. In union jobs you get rewarded for doing just enough to not get fired. There is no reward for being more productive.
Because equality is Communism.
@@jasonpalacios2705 Bingo!!
@@jasonpalacios2705 And communism is passed of as equality.
True, good, people believe in equality for all. All sexes, all races, all genders and all people.
Archie is right as in correct as rain. Gosh how I miss the Greatest Generation
Yeah women want equal pay but they don't mind getting free drinks at clubs on "Ladies Nights". Damn hypocrites.
Yeah - - - how many meals have women bought YOU? Not many, I expect. Me either. Women want SELECTIVE equality.
Yo. I’m 14 and I’m watching thinking, man how times have changed. This is legendary
Men have sign up for the draft, defend the household, stay aboard the sinking ship, and perform all the life threatening jobs..... unequal pay is the price of admission.
Great point and even greater TH-cam name!
I came here because I recently watched this episode, and now I'm watching Who's the Boss Pilot. Alyssa Milano's character said that maybe she could manage the Mets. I was wondering if Norman Lear was involved in this series too,
It funny reading these comments, All In The Family is still obviously over the heads of many....
very true!
@@hankaustin7091 < very stupid
@peaceandrosegirl
I'm not saying woman shouldn't be allowed to work. Sometimes it is a financial necessity. But, the family always breaks down when your natural caretaker is absent.
LIke I said reality and wishful thinking are two different things.
Archie Bunker , the best!
Anyone notice as this tv series ALL IN FAMILY was on by its 2nd season 1971 tru 1972 the beggining theme sung by ARCHIE & EDITH sounded something like AMERICAN PIE sung by DON McLEAN which made it up to #1 JANUARY 8,1972 tru FEBRUARY 5,1972☆☆☆☆Social message was allmost ALIKE!!!
Not complaining but I work with women that get paid at the same rate as I, and can't get nearly as much done as me. I have to help them and lift heavy objects for them. They talk a lot and never put much effort in to their work. I should make much more than them. Although I've had women coworkers in the past that actually do work hard (sweating profusely, and sore but still on point) and am glad to see them making what I make.
I don't know what you do for a living, but I hope you can climb the ladder. If you have a degree in your pocket it will help equal out. Best of luck to you man!
+HaroldM814 thanks. I actually have three jobs, but the aforementioned I've had for many years. I'm discouraged about moving up in supervision or management. There seems to be entirely too much ass kissing and incompetence in that department.
Daniel A Guajardo Speaking from experience.... FUCK IT. You have 1 life. If moving up is a pay bump do it dude.
+HaroldM814 I know, but I have a pool service I'd like to expand as soon as I collect enough equipment. So I'm keeping options open. But the insurance provided by the shitty job is wonderful, full coverage on everything with no dollar limit. Moving up would require me to pay for insurance out of my raise. You are right though.
Yeah, the real injustice is that women get paid as much as men for an unequal amount of work. Seems like employers also give women more time off then they are comfortable giving to most young men.
Archie You were great
Like it or not, allowing women in the work force has essentially helped lead to the breakup of the traditional family unit...
Yep, sad but true
John Doel; That is exactly what Phyllis Schlafly tried to warn us about.
John Doe: that is what Phyllis Schlafly tried to warn us about,
He was ahead of his time 🤣🤣🤣 he nailed it! Women campaigned for equality only to take second place behind Tgirls
the truth has been spoken
Archie's very last statement about being equal was 100% spot on
@jpssteveshanahan It's unfair when a lazy freeloading dead weight load like yourself who thinks you should be and have equal outcome compared to the hard working successful person who is contributing to humanity.
@jpssteveshanahan9572no. Equity is unfair.
@jpssteveshanahan9572 Equity forces everyone to finish the same. Slow down the faster people. Undermine the more successful people, etc...
@jpssteveshanahan9572 yep. All goes back to Marxism
He ain’t lying
Well look at what we have now ! Archie knew stuff 👍 and I’m a woman.
I would get along so well with Archie.
Seriously? Do you believe in paying people less because of their race or gender like he does? I think pay should be based off of skill not factors such as race and gender that have little to do with the job.
+Alfred Abraham I regret to say that you're not the whiner of the day, but you are the runner-up. I do, however commend your social-justice efforts. Feel the Bern!
What we've done and what I've done is make Archie not the head of a lynchmob but a human being who is also a bigot," O'Connor, a political liberal, told an interviewer in 1973. While the show clearly opposed Archie's views, it showed him trying to cope with a world that was changing around him.Jul 6, 2001
This show was so good. 🔥
Loved this show growing up🤗...fast forward to today, my husband and I are still laughing but boy, try sharing this with our kids and they are NOT amused. They can't find any humor in his ignorance at all. Today's kids, I swear, theyre so busy being Politically Correct and Accepting of everything and every lifestyle choice but quickly judge those who don't think like they do, regardless of what decade it is.
Someone should have asked Irene how long the man who held the job she is getting was in that position. Unless she can point out she has years more of forklift experience or she is exceptionally talent on the forklift, she should not be making the same as the man she is replacing.
LOL ONE OF THE BEST SITCOMS EVER!
THE VERY BEST ⭐️
Irene needs to compare starting salaries, not her beginning salary versus her predecessor's final salary.
You tell em', Archie. I'm somewhere between Archie and Michael :-)))
the greatest sitcom of all time.
Imagine Trump as Archie and Hillary as the Meathead and you'll get a glimpse of the upcoming election.
Watch the presidential debate in two weeks you will see something similar.
Archie won the election.
Use a male example as meathead. There are plenty of male Democrats.
Definitive of the genre. Best of its era.
Came here after the Mets hired Jessica Mendoza. 😂😂😂
Talk to me when _I_ can get unlimited days off because I'm "not feeling well". Two different female coworkers regularly don't show up and I'm expected to do their job as well as my own when they don't. They just aren't crucial employees; they're either eye candy or useless or both. So damn rite they should get paid less.
That even made the Meathead think..............
Archie wasn't wrong. 2024
this woman started a job with zero work experience in the field and claimed sexism at work because she was getting paid less than my friend who was working there for years and had 20 yrs of work experience. smh
Incredible. His reasoning is so true of that era.
The feminist 77 cents on the dollar bullshit was going on even THEN??
Archie delivered the lines great, but a lot of credit needs to be given to the writers. They put the show on the map way ahead of the times.
BACK IN THE DAY WHEN TV SHOWS WERE ACTUALLY FUNNY!
TV SHOWS NOWADAYS (CSI, MODERN FAMILY, ETC.) ARE GARBAGE!
Women who believe that, don't understand men don't all get the same pay for the same job eather . It's dependant on lots of things. Your negation skills, time on the job, skills, education level, etc.
Archie rocks i can't stop laughing great comedy
Mike's silence was classic LMAO.
Wow, what a prophecy
@redreaper2020 Not in Illinois. The last I heard minimum wage was at $7.50 here and it may have even gone up.But then again things here are more expensive and vise versa from state to state.
