About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Best sitcom ever!! The back and forth between O'Connor and Reiner was absolute gold during the many seasons. This was my favorite episode of the whole series, and I'm so grateful for being born in the late 70's and was raised on All in the Family reruns in the 80's as a kid. Just a great show that could really be used in such sensitive times we live in now, just to show this generation that it is okay to laugh at ourselves and our differences as well. Holy hell, this world has totally forgotten how to laugh
Agreed. Unfortunately everyone is too sensitive and has too many rights these days to laugh at anything let alone a classic like this.
The one scene I remember the most with them is when they are discussing something serious upstairs. Mike starts putting on socks and shoes but puts on a sock and then a shoe before moving on to the other foot. Archie notices and then the brilliant writing takes over.

The comedic chemistry between Archie and Meathead is simply amazing. No 2 other sitcom characters are in their echelon. AITF has to be the GOAT of all sitcoms. Combine cultural impact with the amount of successful spinoffs, and nothing else comes close to this show.
The joke of it all is that Archie and Mike did grow to like each other in spite of all their differences.
I remember seeing an interview with Carroll O'Connor for the show's 20th anniversary. He said that a lot of the dialogue was the result of improvising between himself and Rob Reiner. He would start with an extra line and that would generate a laugh, and Reiner would build on that and it would just keep going until the rehearsal was stopped because everyone in the cast & crew was laughing. So of course those lines were written into the script.

People never change.
All because the it's still the same 2 crappy parties running the show. Just out for money and power BOTH of them. NO LIFE MATTERS JUST MONEY
And in 50 more yrs, sadly it will remain relevant .
@Rob You need to learn the history of these two parties' platforms. They were completely the opposite of each other at that time. If Abraham Lincoln were running today, he'd be a Democrat. Anyone with a modicum of understanding of US political history knows that.
I dont know about this. Edith as a wife and mother would never be portrayed in this fashion, imo. She was portrayed as docile and dumb as a brick. in today's shows, women tend to be portrayed as much smarter than their husbands in the script writing. Nit always, but most of the time.
