Oh wow, never knew until now how incredibly bogan our accents sound. I just watched the original broadway cast 3 times in a row and to come back to the Aussie accent was really weird!
@Broadwayvideosweb Doh! Well, of course, now that you tell me it's obvious. I'm just not used to hearing it there. For the record, I love the Australian accent.
The most disappointing thing about this production was to me Ilse... The actress portrayed her as an arrogant rather than misunderstood and bohemian character. Her singing was fantastic but in the duologue she sounded like she was going to murder him. She had a whine and wasn't free spirited anymore. I also hated the large gap between Moritz's suicide and left behind. The rumble took away the artistic scene change of the guitar. I just have a bit of beef with this production... oh well okay job.
as an australian being so in love with the original spring awakening this is embarressing...its good but the accents? come on guys...my high school is better at accents than that...
The best TF version I've heard! So rocking & full of energy.

@ajmf123 Please put it up I really wanted to see this!
Aussie version had so much more emotion for this song!
Very nice. To my American ears, even the, "blah, blah's" sound Aussie.
What are they singing right after Melchior says, "Yes!"? (2:34)
It's fucked, right frigging fucked.
@courtneyjane100 - Sydney Theatre Company did a production back in Feb, 2010.
