The jumps at the start of this video I have been looking at for some time. They are only a very short distance from my home. I knew they were certainly doable as I had seen other riders sending them without a problem.
However, I have never been the most confident on jumps, and so I wanted to really be sure I could pull these off before I tried them. Whenever I start doing gap jumps, it usually ends up very badly.
I thought me doing these jumps would make an entertaining video, because as past videos have shown, as soon as I start doing jumps, anything can happen, and it usually entails the destruction of myself or my bike.
Unfortunately, the jumps part of the video turned out to be fairly uneventful. These jumps are entirely easy to clear, and are probably among the safest jumps I've ever done. These jumps look more intimidating than they actually are, and require only minimal amounts of skill to pull them off.
I still managed to have myself a big trademark crash on a new trail called Kerry's Curves, which I found very embarrassing, but never mind, it happens, it all adds to flavour of the video I guess, and reminds you just how useless I still am on a bike haha.

I had a trip to the Wrekin last weekend for the first time so I got to ride some of the trails I have seen you ride on the channel and now I have even more respect for your riding as I struggled to ride lots of it. You certainly don't give yourself enough credit for your riding ability. I really love the channel for your down to earth personality. Keep up the good work Dave.
I was actually at the Wrekin on Sunday and got crushed repeatedly. Multiple crashes on a couple of the hardest trails there. I wasn't filming. That place I simply refer to as a deathtrap. The trails there are ridiculously steep.

yeah they were a couple of jumps I've looked at for a while. They had to be smashed. You know when you just wake up in the morning, and you know it is do or die, they are getting sent, it was one of those days.

As for the tree disease, it's real and they've been having to fell them for a few years now - they felled all the trees on St Ives Estate in Bingley when I was living there, nearly three years ago. Thin out the diseased trees and save the others.

@@DaveJenvey You never know mate, there's a lot of weird conspiracies out there. Personally, I think they may have pissed on their own chips on this current situation and manufacturing may be moved away from them to other places. Remains to be seen though...
A lot of thought goes into "jump assessment". Just shows you can do the big uns and mess up a smaller one! PS. Love the accent, it sounds down to earth and caring to me.

I actually went there recently, those Kinver trails are seriously hardcore though and they are a bit beyond me to be fair.
