She never pretended to be anyone else but herself, have she been having fun with the media image of her, for sure, but she has always been authentic, she is too punk to be anything else but herself.
But really, I used to believe this. Some of her vocals are right in your earholes and, especially on Mouth’s Cradle, it feels like she’s intentionally doing ASMR, and that was years before it was even a thing.
Well mics are the most important part of her life and any Bjork fan because everything they hear from her is in the mics she choose, is what she is trying to say.
Actually this is sobering to me just hearing her speak about the “gear” we often think of Bjork as this delicate heavenly creature, and yet she’s so Sharp….Jesus. We have so much to learn from this talent
I have been following her for 30 years and her head space is the same. She has a child like wonder for music thats infectous. She just might be a musical genuis. Love her.

I still listen to much of vespertine with my eyes closed in a dark room before sleep and just crawl into those sounds. they are so layered, plentiful and creative. with cocoon, the beats at the beginning is a jug being stirred.

She also arranges. She's a rare artist who uses the whole range of human hearing to create whatever effect she is aiming for. It's why her "early electronic music" from albums like Homogenic still sounds just as fresh as when it was created, whereas there is so much early sampled or MIDI music from that time or later that sounds impossibly dated. She does everything with purpose and thought, not just to use the latest technology.
I know very little of her but have always known of her, her peculiarity in detail is a signal of an underlying expertise. It’s hard to convey to others and sounds aloud how she did.
