I know there's lots of fans excited for playable Gene and Nero, and I'm excited too, but major props to Chimichangar for making The Thing and coming up with his moves. I can't even imagine how difficult or arduous it must have been to do that "from scratch"
It looks a bit janky, but considering this is a fan project i have to let it slide, it looks sick anyway and adding the Human Torch as an assist was a wonderful idea.

Thing calls in Johnny for a super, Johnny calls in Susan for a supper, Susan calls in Reed, and Reed calls in Thing. Still not sure how I feel bout each character calling someone in to help as I prefer everyone to stand on their own as much as possible but I would at least appreciate the consistent thematic and also let you (technically) have all of the fantastic 4 on one team. However since theres no guarantee each one would be made by the same person, I doubt it

Glad to see people excited for Gene! I've been working on him on and off for over a year and I want him to satisfy. I've seen the comments about his polish and I totally agree, he still needs polish but I've put most of my time into functionality over flash. But with recent playtests I got the observe, I see things that should/need to change and got ideas for -new- things to add. Overall, while Gene's still a bit of a ways out, he's gonna Dragon Kick your ass into the Milky Way when he's done. But oh wow, who could that silhouette be? Haha, eventually... And no, I don't take character requests or suggestions.

I've wanted Gene in UMVC3 for a long time. Here's a dumb idea for Gene: Gene's taunt, like in God hand, buffs the opponent in some way (xf1 style buff for 10 seconds or so?) in exchange for immediately giving you a meter.
I've also hype for Gene. Thank you to you for making this happened. The thing is, God hand is so underrated. Not many know this series since that's the only one game it represents. No crossover whatsoever, unlike vieutiful joe even though only have 2 main titles as far as I know but Capcom gave him some love by putting him in another game. Anyway with this mod, my only criticism is the face design.

Yeah honestly I'm excited he's in but the bag was really dropped for his supers, like, not even a Dragon Kick or Shaolin Blast? I'd have probably gone out of my way to put every move mentioned in God Hand's theme on him.
God Hand is a total masterpiece and I am so happy to see him here. What's more, is that he doesn't looks half as hype as he actually is in the og game, don't get the wrong idea people (but he still looks awesome)! God Hand can be easily emulated through PCSX2, and if you don't have time to play then at least listen to the OST, it's SO GOOD. Another problem is that nobody made a proper game movie with all of the cutscenes+proper gameplay showcase so far (some either miss scenes or gameplay is shitty), even Miek Kobe :(( - watch him btw, he makes insane vids! I wish there was a great game movie to recommend for reaction channels.

The progress of the community. Like... How long ago was it we were getting a janky looking Cyclops over C. Viper and were happy about it just because it proved it could be done? 2 years ago? Now I'm about to get Magma Dragoon in Marvel and I cannot be happier.
My suspect is that entire poster in that one stage that said killed or captured will eventually all be 'on the loose.' so much of old cast will return.
The Thing being playable looks fun! Big boys are always interesting to play in fast paced games. The Thing's dash and spin look like they'll be really good for this mobility! Out if the 3 Capcom characters, I find Gene the coolest. He's very much a grounded brawler in his own game, so seing how Angelglory did his air game made eager to try him out. It really looks like he has God Hand combos!
Oh my goodness this has so much love, passion and soul put into it, Dan is my absolute favorite and I never thought he would get added, he was indeed a pleasant surprise and his little taunts mid combos are satisfying to watch, his little *ORAORAORA* is a chef’s kiss, The Thing interrupting him coupled with the clever use of StoneMan Music blew me away too!
These mods look fantastic so far! Nero's for sure the stand out for me. But the Thing looks cool too! I also like the inclusion of characters from MVCI like Mega Man X, Venom, Ultron, and the Updated Thanos, not to mention Carnage! The upcoming Rogue, Magma Dragoon and Dr.Wily also look to be pretty sick. I wonder if OG Mega Man or Volnutt's TVC version will be done someday!

GREATEST GAME EVER. Absolute shoutouts to the creators of these mods, they nailed it in every single way.
Every single update coming out of this community is like a wish come true. An entire 50+ character expansion with even *more* on the way? Geeezes we are getting BLESSED. Would love to see all the loose and independent character mods consolidated with this as well. Having everyone on board this ship'll make this community edition an even bigger community...edition.

Her fighting style would translate well to the fast-paced nature of MvC (being both a _kunoichi_ and circus acrobat, that gives her lots of potential for a high-agility rushdown/combo game, but with plenty of trickery from her ninja skills and weapons), her cheery-yet-snarky demeanour from the anime would translate well to lots of amusing dialogue with the rest of the cast (especially if they got Falcon and/or Regina from _Dino Crisis_ on board as well, since she shared an English voice actress with the latter), and of course you've got her Power Change form. Could provide loads of potential (with the giant shurikens, teleportation and control of the weather) for some kickass Hypers!
I'll say it again and again, the UMvC3 modding community is absolutely incredible!! Especially love the Gene mod! He looks very fun to play, but he could probably use some more different voice lines?
Even seeing Gene in a game like this is AMAZING. Absolutely insane props to the creator. I wish his animations were a little closer to the actual game though.

God Hand and Nero are the two other characters besides Asura that you guys already finished i always hear about people wanting and even though I haven't played god hand or dmc4 or 5 yet those guys always seemed like really perfect fits and it's awesome to see them here now. actually seeing somebody from Fantastic Four in mvc after how many of their villains we've gotten is great too
It's amazing to see how the community keeps UMvC3 alive while Capcom has practically given up on the series. This may be wishful thinking, but I hope somewhere along the way someone makes unique win quote screens and arcade mode endings for these mod characters.

Definitely would be interesting to see characters from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Characters like Yatter-man and Yatter-man 2 would fit right in with the marvel characters. 😁

Nero looks insanely cool, Gene finally gets some love, Thing looked super fun, and I cant wait to see more Jon Talbain in action. my only criticism is Thing calling in Johnny Storm for a super. Would prefer he just do a Shizuo-from-Dengeki super of throwing a ton of crap all at once so he can stand on his own as much as possible (plus it be weird if someone ever modded in Johnny Storm), but thats not a MAJOR flaw or anything. Cant wait for this to be fully done

I was looking at Dan like "This looks sick but something's off." It's his undershirt, I underestimated how much it ties his design together, he doesn't look right without it. I can't wait to play these though
Impressive. I like how Gene has aspects of Wesker in his arsenal. Most of the community-made characters will have moves similar to the initial roster. Not that that's a bad thing. The Thing has a hammer similar to what Skrull produces. I was horrible at the game but enjoyed Iron Fist, and Spencer the most.
I'd love to see some characters from other franchises, like Hellboy, Spawn, Swamp thing, it's crazy what you could make this game now. it's awesome to see! I love seeing community projects for more niche games like this.
This is exactly what I wanted. I had issues combining the characters from the different modders but with the CE, it's much simpler. If more characters get added after the CE releases, will we have to manually add the new characters?

Yeah, the Gene supers leave a lot to be desired. Really hoping it's prone to changing, especially for such an over the top character like him
He looks cool though. I believe they'll improve it eventually like how captain commando eventually got his summons.

Her fighting style would translate well to the fast-paced nature of MvC (being both a _kunoichi_ and circus acrobat, that gives her lots of potential for a high-agility rushdown/combo game, but with plenty of trickery from her ninja skills and weapons), her cheery-yet-snarky demeanour from the anime would translate well to lots of amusing dialogue with the rest of the cast (especially if they got Falcon and/or Regina from _Dino Crisis_ on board as well, since she shared an English voice actress with the latter), and of course you've got her Power Change form. Could provide loads of potential (with the giant shurikens, teleportation and control of the weather) for some kickass Hypers!

I'll say it again and again, the UMvC3 modding community is absolutely incredible!! Especially love the Gene mod! He looks very fun to play, but he could probably use some more different voice lines?

Even seeing Gene in a game like this is AMAZING. Absolutely insane props to the creator. I wish his animations were a little closer to the actual game though.

God Hand and Nero are the two other characters besides Asura that you guys already finished i always hear about people wanting and even though I haven't played god hand or dmc4 or 5 yet those guys always seemed like really perfect fits and it's awesome to see them here now. actually seeing somebody from Fantastic Four in mvc after how many of their villains we've gotten is great too

It's amazing to see how the community keeps UMvC3 alive while Capcom has practically given up on the series. This may be wishful thinking, but I hope somewhere along the way someone makes unique win quote screens and arcade mode endings for these mod characters.
To be fair, disney isnt very fun to work with these days… i also wouldnt be interested in working on the series if i had to do it on Disney’s terms

Definitely would be interesting to see characters from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Characters like Yatter-man and Yatter-man 2 would fit right in with the marvel characters. 😁

Absolutely looks amazing. Nero looks insanely cool, Gene finally gets some love, Thing looked super fun, and I cant wait to see more Jon Talbain in action. my only criticism is Thing calling in Johnny Storm for a super. Would prefer he just do a Shizuo-from-Dengeki super of throwing a ton of crap all at once so he can stand on his own as much as possible (plus it be weird if someone ever modded in Johnny Storm), but thats not a MAJOR flaw or anything. Cant wait for this to be fully done

Impressive. I like how Gene has aspects of Wesker in his arsenal. Most of the community-made characters will have moves similar to the initial roster. Not that that's a bad thing. The Thing has a hammer similar to what Skrull produces. I was horrible at the game but enjoyed Iron Fist, and Spencer the most.
It’s partially because there’s no known way to import new animations into the game. They have to remix pre-existing assets.

This is exactly what I wanted. I had issues combining the characters from the different modders but with the CE, it's much simpler. If more characters get added after the CE releases, will we have to manually add the new characters?
