    I’ve got a few what ifs
    1. What if the empire won at Ionith
    2. What if Martin survived
    3. What if the alliance of chimer and dwemer lost to the nords
    4. What if the yokudans never had a civil war and all of them came to Tamriel
    5. What if akavir invaded Tamriel before the oblivion crisis
    6. What if the empire won the valenwood civil war
    7. What if you went to the cloud district often

    in daggerfall you start as a friend of the emporer and your given a back story that explains a bit about your character and how the character met the emporer. the game starts with the emporer sending you to daggerfall to learn why something is happening there, so no record of the hero of daggerfall being a prisoner

    • @Super50ldier

      Yes, the Hero of Daggerfall was never a prisoner in canon. He's a Breton Knight and Blades Agent sent back to his homeland of High Rock to solve the mystery of Lysander's murder.

    So a Blade walks up to a dragon and doesn't kill it, and the Thalmor show up to a town and don't care about a Blade everyone knows is a Blade? And the khajiit just casually knew a dragon like an old friend? And there's an Orc queen? talk about weird.

      I mean, it makes sense. There were hundreds if not thousands of Blades pre-Great War and we only know a handful that survived. The Thalmor were extremely efficient.
      The surviving Blades that I know of (on top of my mind):
      - Delphine and Esbern in Skyrim. And maybe that NPC in the inn near Windhelm.
      - The Warrior, Henrik Seven-Swords and other NPC I don't remember in Blades.
      - I think other four are the protagonists of the table game.
      In total around twelve out of hundreds. It's pretty horrible what the Thalmor managed.

    So we have a dragon, an elder scroll and Thalmor helping the player against a lich king. I feel like the writers felt like the story was too loosely connected to Elder Scrolls universe, so they added some elements from Skyrim here and there to make it more familiar. But it's nice to have another story.
    As for your videos, I feel like they require concentration, you could tell the story a little slower for example and repeat yourself a couple of times. Just to make it more casual, like mention for example what Varla stones are and what has happened during previous encounter with the Queen. I know it, but then a video can become a little easier to follow for everybody. Anyways, I appreciate the content, I admire the complexity of Elder Scrolls universe, which was a background of just a few video games. Keep it up!

    • @ImperialKnowledge

      That is mischaractarising it a bit. As this was the period just after the great war, the period in which it was sanctioned to hunt Blades, as we know they were allowed to do that just after the war.
      However, we do now know how long this period of "Free reign" was

    I'm not sure the native race is the "canon" one tbh. If anything, the story in Morrowind and Skyrim heavily suggests you're not a Dunmer/Nord. Though that's probably just Bethesda trying to let everyone make their "own canon story".

    • @Murmelmann
      @Murmelmann 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The argument for the canon race is mainly based on which one is the default race at the beginning. Although considering how some races are treated in Skyrim (i.e. Khajit) and how nobody really cares that you are the LDB, it is safe to assume that Nord would be the most likely choice, followed by Bretons and Imperials.

    • @zeveria7206
      @zeveria7206 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you're definitely a foreigner to Skyrim--same as Morrowind--and don't know much of anything about its customs, which would be weird if that was your native homeland. The way Hadvar talks, it sounds like the Dragonborn is from Cyrodiil, which would make Imperial the most statistically likely...although due to how mixed Cyrodiil is, just about any race is a reasonable possibility. Especially since an Imperial would stand out against the Stormcloaks, but then again, the way things are worded, it sounds like your race would be different from the Stormcloaks.

    • @Murmelmann
      @Murmelmann 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@zeveria7206 TES is all about the player being right. That's why all of the endings from Daggerfall became a reality after the Warp in the West. And while the main character being a certain race but maybe born in another region of Tamriel, thus not knowing the customs, would make sense, in the long term it doesn't matter, because the hero disappears one way or the other when the next game comes out. This could be considered a cop out and I myself would like to see some continuity those games are all awesome and each time I replay them I might choose another race. Talking abut lore/canon is just fun.

    So actually, one cool thing about every Elder Scrolls game is that there is no “canon” race or gender for any of the main characters! In a card game released after Skyrim, the dragonborn is portrayed as a female nord, and Bethesda has declared that card game canon. Promotional material has to show something, and it’s only natural they pander to their primary demographic (men), but that doesn’t equal canon.

    • @Super50ldier
      @Super50ldier ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, the Last Dragonborn is a male Nord with steel sword and iron shield in the Studded armor and iron helmet, gauntlets and boots, the Nerevarine is a male Dunmer in the Redoran Armor and the Hero of Kvatch is a male Imperial, a sword wielding Knight and the Fugitive is also a male Imperial in canon. Those are the canon races. All the protagonists are males in canon.

      @@Super50ldier That’s actually not true, at least for Skyrim. There’s debate about the other games, but for Skyrim it’s definitely not the case.
