My twitter feed has gone full on conspiracy culture and anti-government grift despite blocking/muting. I can't imagine why any reputable advertisers would go with Twitter/X.
“she’s staying no matter what” “the biggest virtual intervention in history…to get her out” “she can recover from this” “you have to give her a mulligan for the Vox interview” “still well-respected in the advertising industry” “the advertising industry will give her a break” 🤢Do you even hear yourselves?
Boards of Directors, E-teams, private equity and hedge fund managers, Captains of Industry and leading media outlets pretty much call him every day. Does that answer your question?

Musk's other companies, Tesla and SpaceX, draw heavily and directly on government money. With Twitter his options to do so similarly are highly limited. He seems to aspire promoting the platform as an official public communication service. His shameless courting of Trump and his magas fits that perception.
Isn't Ad Fontes the company that came out with the media bias chart that had questionable classifications of news media? I question the structure of the vertical access for determining reliability.
Really? Your an Ad guy and you can't say something obvious like "Go after Elon's core supporters and the brands they overwhelming support". The reality is that plenty of folks who support "X" in it's current iteration also own large businesses. And he didn't say "GFY" to all advertisers, he said that to those who try to force him to make decisions he disagrees with by holding their AD dollars hostage. I guarantee if one of your customers tried to hold their money over your head, you wouldn't be thrilled either and you would look for a way to mitigate their control over your decisions. The difference with Elon is that he can tell those customers off without having a bigger strategy. Especially since he is running the same company with 1/3 the employees and 2/3s of the original technology resources. When you make that big of a reduction in your costs, you can afford to shake things up/change the way you do things. Hey, it may not work out for him. Time will tell.
...All while spreading disinformation to influence users of that platform to vote for someone who will give (only him) more govt handouts, not just to his two massive companies, but now, also to his third largest company.
Great interview, thanks for posting! Bottom line is that advertisers and media decision makers (I'm one of them) can find audiences elsewhere. Period. There are too many platforms that don't have the risk. Not sure how Elon doesn't understand that...unless to Lou's point, he's purposely burning the bridge with brands and has another source of revenue for X up his sleeve.
He is putting all his eggs in the 2024 presidential election. By supporting a man who gives tax breaks to the 0.1 percent, he will be guaranteed massive govt handouts, not only for his car and space companies, but also for his social media company.
If I remember correctly Musk tweeted that Yaccarino was coming to Twitter before she was ready to announce it. That disrespect should have been a warning to her that she made a mistake.
Help me out here. Im prepared to change my mind. What exactly is wrong with X and musk other than they are not woke? What is so egregious? As a member of the public, I don't care that elon insulted Disney. I dont care for Elon and I dont care for Disney, they can have an MMA fight to the death and I'm still not interested. So what is this great crime that im supposed to be so offended about?
These speakers represent the "advertising community". As a member of the public, why would I care about them or what they stand for? They have weaponised our personal data for 20+ years. They have sold our personal information and handed it to governments. They are one of the most toxic industries. So why would their negative view of X and Elon be anything other than an endorsement?
Dr. Galway and Swisher have been drooling over their own fantasies of Musk somehow failing with X/Twitter. If you get angry at them for this or you get angry at Musk for this they win - the only thing that destroys them is your indifference 😊
If you don't mind that the guy is irresponsible to the point of childishness, AND he exercises personal control over things like Ukraine's defense strategy (denying them a critical expansion of Starlink because HE thought it might be escalatory), well then, fine. Shrug him off.
@@KevinSmith-ki2nk irresponsible about what? Who cares? I don't live in some kind of celebrity LARP where I care about what famous people do. "It's not that they lost 60% but that they still have 40%" That's what I was wondering as well.
Insightful podcast, well done!
Good segment. Find X downfall interesting...🤔 Been following since your great interview with Elon & the Frontline investigation.

Same
Instead of advertising on the restroom wall with a swastika on it . Elon wants advertisers to sponsor the wall.

Who ever called Scott Galloway and asked his opinion on anything? He is like a guest a party no one invited.

I think someone described Yaccorino as Musk’s Pain Sponge 😂
You can tell the pecking order by the level of their mic. I always hated that about cable tv when commercials came on.

Potential advitisers: Nascar, Country music concerts, Gun shops...

I got kicked off of Xcrament. MTG couldn't take a joke.
Elon and F1 have one thing in common: they are both Gossip Magnets!
Wth are up with those glasses?

When x + starlink = worlds biggest marketplace... Fortune 500 will come back

I know nothing about advertising. I would have been good to define terms used by industry like programatic and linear platform.

Cool glasses.
Twitter is still great
No. No it isn't.
Unless you're a Nazi.
Never used it, what still makes it great? Sounds like a sess-pool of disinformation from the outside.
I’m Sure Linda will find lots of employment with right wing employers when she switches sides like Tulsi!
I would love to watch the full podcast!
ffs come on people lets get this done
oh yeah 🙄
These people are running a propaganda campaign against elon lol
Exactly
No, actually Elon is doing a great job of that himself.
They want him to fail so bad, and they want Linda to go down with him. These Advertisers are scared asf
One of the brightest exchanges I've seen on the web. Congrats
Been around awhile
