I have to say that he's been slowing down this past albums, you listen to Masquerade, Dream Awake, Scarab, dam that was his best, i love what the band have been doing, I love it the smooth Nick in Node, but now in Alien he doesn't sound more o even more tech than the rest, back in time Nick drums was insane, now still but in a different way..

It's different, makes the whole composition feel more airy, giving each instrument and sound more space to breathe and get noticed. Think it fits this band pretty well, their whole concept and style of writing might be what lets them pull it off so well imo.

Northlane is flawless. This track speaks to on so many levels, the band created something truly special with Alien. Marcus was the perfect replacement for Adrian and he has truly lifted them to different heights with his vocal range.
Be careful, the Adrian fanboys will come out in full force if you speak negatively about their God. However, you're exactly right. In my opinion, Marcus is SOOO much better than Adrian. Much better singing voice and a killer screamer who gets better and better every release.

Took me a while to adapt to Marcus but I fell in love with his vocals. Adrian's low growls are still one of the best I've heard from any vocalist though, in terms of how unique it sounds. I think his delivery plays a big part in that also.
This is one of the most impressive like a versions of all time. Marcus, just pat yourself on the back man. You are one of the best vocalists in all of metal.

Great range means that you can not only take certain notes, but also take them with relative ease, and it's not the case here. Other than that, a pretty good vocalist, and his extreme vocals are great

That G# ("me") is clearly not out of his vocal range - it's not even the highest note of the phrase - but it sounds really flat to me..maybe it's because he just switched from yelling to clean at that point. He's trying to use a great variety of vocal styles and I think he does a great job but I'd prefer if he was a tiny bit less ambitious about mixing contrasting styles and would focus a bit more on sounding relaxed. Of course that's a general problem of the genre. And you're right about the high notes too, though they're probably aware of that as they partially use tons of reverb to cover that up.
Marcus has some of the best vocals in the game. I’d love to see a collab with Northlane and Architects. Some of the two most distinct voices in the genre together would be immaculate.
I'll never understand the 'the old singer was better' comments for anything other than nostalgia, because the old singer couldn't 'sing'. Marcus can do it all. They're a better band with him. Just like The Contortionist are a better band now with Michael Lessard

I used to watch Brendon with Structures all the time in Toronto. I'm so glad he's in Northlane now. He's got such a sick voice and I'm excited to hear his vocal contributions going forward.
This song is super balanced and is super heavy without being dull and I think it takes massive talent to write something like this. I listen to a lot of metal and I recently discovered Northlane and they’re a fresh change I love them. The vocals and synth backing just has this edge I can’t explain it. If I had a band, I’d like it to be like this.

I remember seeing them in Melbourne recently. High asf and my eyebrow bleeding from the Counteparts set and when this song came on it was such a euphoric moment
I think I speak for the entire metal community when I say thank you for promoting newer and younger bands. As oppose to other youtube channels like Rockfeed or Loudwire that will make an entire video about Corey Taylor sneezing.
I think Triple J needs to support bands that are their peak in their genre regardless of commercial appeal. Just showcase these people that are the best at what they do, and celebrate that they are Australian.

Knew Obelisk and Bloodline before I saw them live, immediately bought Alien after their set and now they’re one of my top 3 favorite bands. Whole band is incredible
Northlane have always been some of my favourites but Alien is in my top 5 albums of all time! You are all so amazing and the new album is so unique and I know it was probably hard to sing about some of these things Marcus however I want you to know on my and probs all the Northlane fam’s behalf that this is incredible and you are so brave for doing it! You are truly an inspiration for the whole generation and beyond!
