I think the Morph tool is going to be VERY slept on. I actually bought the full tutorial for Angela from RX and the potential for the morph tool is massive. Would love to see your take on what that tool can do.
Halfway this tutorial and i love how you took the time to promote DUIK and encourage to donate to the creator of this beautiful plugin! I love your teaching style Jake, great work!!
I'm not even 5 minutes in yet, and I can tell how much love went into this tutorial just by the way the character is segmented and labeled in a nice little visual animation just for the audience.
It's insane how much one can learn in an hour, my character animations went from only parenting and rotating everything manually to full on automating 85% of the process thanks to you! I'm so thankful for your tutorials, please don't die 🙏
I've been struggling with my animation homework for some time, but I finally did it! Thank you sooo much Jake, you've explained things better than my professor! 😁
i don't think i can even begin to explain to you how useful this tutorial is, i've just learned more things in one hour than i did in the past few months. THANK YOU!
Jake you don't know how much you've taught me! I'm just a beginner and was suffering a lot about how to do this motion or that motion. I was so interested to learn character animation but couldn't help myself. Last couple of days I was trying for this tutorial and you know what! Today I've successfully animated your Reece....! Your precise teaching taught me a lot. Thanks Buddy !
JAKE you make my favorite videos. A year ago I was saying to myself "I hate After Effects" but you really keep me coming back to AE and having fun with it when i do. Even when I already know something, like DUIK, watching your videos are always compelling and give me some nice little food for thought when coming back to rigging in after effects. Seriously I cannot express my appreciation for you and your videos enough!
I have a distinct Love/Hate relationship with After Effects, as well. Almost to the point where friends and family are wishing we would finally get it over with and just break-up.
Please picture me running around my apartment screaming "IT'S ALIVE!!!" this is the best, clearest and most succinct guide to this cursed software, and I am a happy camper.
I use Moho for animation and rigging, but when I saw the Walk Cycle, I was convinced to make my life easier by using Duke Angela, Thanks for the tutorial.
I have no words to express that how much this tutorial has helped me. My client is sitting on my ass for some mascot animations and Jake thanks a ton for this tutorial. Love from India
Wow! The automatic run and walk cycles with such control is mind blowing! Incredible. Thank you for taking the time for making such an in depth demonstration. 🙌
This is fantastic I must say. From the layers labeling, duplications, and keyframes. I must say I enjoyed the tutorial. I am lucky to stumble on your page less than 3 hours, but this first tutorial glued me to your page. A FAN!!!
I have been using DUIK Bassal for about a year now and wanted to see what was new in Angela, well I'm so glad I watched this because it turns out my professor taught us how to rig the foot wrong! Now I know I'm not crazy when I couldn't get the fancy foot controls to work haha
Every time I watch a video of yours, Jake, I learn so much more than just the subject of the video, like shortcuts, workflow, organisation, etc. The knowledge and resources you impart are invaluable, and I am incredibly grateful. Thank you!
Unbelievable!!!! This is the best tutorial for character animation I have ever come across. Ammmaazziinnngggg!!! Followed you through every step of the way and achieved almost close to what I wanted (a few tweaks are needed, that I look in to after sometime). What an absolute pleasant way of tutoring the world around. You Rock Bud! You're amazing, yet the best mentor I have ever seen around. I finally found a mentor for myself. Keep shining, smiling and spreading knowledge among others, because I can bet that people around adore you to their max capacity. 🤩🤩🤩🤩😊😊😊
Thank you so much for this Jake! I’m studying a motion design degree (in my third and final year), but our degree teaches more of the contextual stuff vs technical skills. I’ve learnt most of my technical skills through TH-cam and have a lot more to learn. I love that yours are so easy to follow, thanks for helping me along in my journey! ❤
Thank you jake for updating us. From 2 years I watched almost all your After effect tutorials, And in every tutorial I have learnt something new. Highly Appreciated Dude! 🤩
This is all great of course, but what you mention at 2:44 is absolute gold. .I love me some overlord but when working on longer form animations made of up massively layered illustrator files, it can quickly turn into a world of vector pain with ever-slogging computer, cursed duik rigs and scenes. Avoid the vector trap if and when possible!
This has been such an eye opening video. I was dreading trying to learn this but this is such a comfortable way to get started! Amazing video. Absolute legend.

Thank you Jake, this is awesome and is going to take me to the next level. I was frustrated at first, because I almost missed the ending of the video. I thought when you were saying subscribe etc. that was the end. I'm impulsive. Thank you for that extra step.
DUIK Angela jeeps getting stuck just before the auto-rig is complete. I have tried using a duplicate bird twice. I saw in help notes to flip horizontally and rig again. You gave any suggestions. I wasn't too old to learn this stuff after all, but I am too old to have patience with these systems. Please help.
Thank you very much for sharing this content. You are undoubtedly one of the most didactic guys I've ever seen on TH-cam (and I've watched a lot of 2D and 3D tutorials).
Amazing. And using the overlays on the OCOs as a starting guide for character design is all the emojis. Chef’s kiss, fire, brain exploding, heart eyes, all of em. Thanks Jake!
@JakeInMotion Awesome job! This is by far the best Duik tutorial I've ever watched. You have answered all of my questions in detail. I see that there had been a lot of prep going into the content and the flow of the tutorial. Very well done, Jake. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much for the tutorial! Very well explained. Thanks to this I could manage to make a character for my videogame to run. And I'm using Duik for the rest of the characters for sure!
Auto-positioning bone structures was also present in Duik Bassel . Great guide anyway, I am thinking about transitioning to Angela for some time now and this really helps. Thanks Jake!
Thank you for this great and very formative work. To complete this series it would be nice to have a video with character interactions while walking or running. For example jumping over obstacles or going up and down stairs. An in-depth look at the elements of the character would also be great. For example how to animate facial elements or clothes. Thanks again for your work and the hours of very detailed and enjoyable explanations.
always the best, with best technique, best workflow, you never disappoint us JAKE. Love and respect from Pakistan. I have learnt alot from you, one of the greatest teacher in the world. thanks alot for your hardwork and dedication💫
This is a fantastic tutorial. Thank you, Jake. Helpful indeed, as always.❤ I wonder if it's possible to make a character walk towards the camera. Walking/running to the left/right I can understand from your tutorial, but front walk still seems the greatest riddle.
What's your favorite new feature of Duik? What else do you want to know about?
I think the Morph tool is going to be VERY slept on. I actually bought the full tutorial for Angela from RX and the potential for the morph tool is massive. Would love to see your take on what that tool can do.
The animation library and the non-linear animation!
Key Morph!
Honestly, any DUIK tutorials are highly welcomed!
Is it possible to create just a head rig with duik Angela
Halfway this tutorial and i love how you took the time to promote DUIK and encourage to donate to the creator of this beautiful plugin!

whenever i want to learn anything in after effects my first choice is always jake in motion.
From workspace setup to animating. This is a true beginner friendly tutorial. Thank you

Woo-Hooo! What a tutorial - Right on point without "ehms", "ooopses" and "lets seeee...one second". Brilliant - and a big Thank you!
“Get up and running” hehe good one. Jake dropped another amazing tutorial!

tip for 17:30 putting nulls in center of guides:
scaling UP not DOWN circle guides makes it easy to auto snap nulls to center
