Wish you could sit on the ground with the lion cubs behind the scenes? Spend your next 29 minutes with them wherever you are! The one-month-old lion cubs and mother, Adia, play, nurse, lick, bite, lick, frolic, get licked some more, and fog the lens of a video camera stationed at floor height in their heated den room.
You may notice a shaved spot on the shoulders and hips of each of the lion cubs. That's so vets and zookeepers can keep track of who's who!

They are BEAUTIFUL, but should be FREE TO ROAM in the wild - that doesn't mean we can't help them there, but they were not created for a life of captivity to satisfy human curiosity - no matter how safe that captivity is - it is still captivity! I am really impressed by the mommy lioness . She is just so devoted to her cubs and these cubs don't even take a break . They just have to play non stop.
I love to see them use mom as a secure base when their playing. I’m glad mom can watch them grow without worry out predators. But I hope she can interact with other lions and dad at the zoo.

Just had bad days. It brings me so much peace, just sitting here and watching the lioness and cubs. Cubs are so adorable. I‘m thinking if I get retired, I might go to live in South Africa and rescue wild animals and live with them. Sometimes animals are just better than human being.

Those are the most adorable baby lion cubs ever I have seen in my life
As someone who has been to this zoo many times I can assure you the lions have far more space than what is shown on camera. She is an isolated den to protect the Cubs, similar to a space a mama lion would try to find in the wild. I'm not saying captivity is ideal at all. But she is not kept in a tiny box fyi.

I too have been there many times and the lion enclosure is much bigger and more like the wild. I watch safari live and am learning alot . one cheetah in particular has had over 20 cubs with her last 2 boys survivors others killed. I am for zoos

For me, there are few things more special to witness than a lioness caring for, teaching and protecting here cubs (mainly in the wild but also evident here). I really admire and adore all Lion mums.

I love how the cubs fall over each other and as soon as mama isn’t looking one of the cubs starts biting the other and stops as soon as mama turns back around. 😂

This is just a temporary enclosure. New mother lions always keep their newborn cubs hidden away for the first 6-8 weeks of life in small, tight areas that will provide shelter & camouflage for the cubs. It is a protective maternal instinct, so being closed off with her babies like this is very natural. She would have much greater fear and stress if her babies were out in the open too soon. They will have plenty of room to roam & be free once they are introduced to the pride when the time is right.

Actually that’s not true. Humans evolved before lions did. Nobody actually knows when cats evolved as a genus, or where they came from. That’s a great debate that’s been going on for decades now. But I wholeheartedly agree. We must protect them. Africa and her wild life have been ravaged by greedy people for centuries.
Arguing what animals evolved first is not really going anywhere since we all constantly evolve alongside each other

Until organizations such as this become A combined 'REFUGE" & "ENTERTAINMENT PRISON" they're really doing an injustice. if blocked go to PEtA (people for Ethical treatment of Animals, or your protection resource of choice to read why Zoos Time ahs passed. One of the good things about zoos! You don't have to worry about these cubs or their mother, and she doesn't have to worry about them! They're all completely safe from other predators, and they're getting taken care of! The Lioness can relax while her little ones enjoy being little
