On a saturday night, in Charlotte NC 2022. The Dead South performed this on one of their two encores at the end of the show. Their show was the best live performance I have ever witnessed.
Never in a million years did I expect a Misfits or System of a down cover from yall but unsurprisingly you knocked them both out of the park superb work guys
@@VRTimeFun I agree I don't think chop suey was their best cover, but this one blows it out of the park. But even though Chop Suey wasn't my favorite I'll still listen to it here and there.
As a HUGE Misfits fan, and someone who has covered this amazing song with me on drums, my daughter on guitar and lead vocals, my son on bass guitar and backing vocals, I can honestly say that this cover is truly something else! Absolutely knocked it out of the park, gentlemen! I will be listening to this for many, many, years to come! Absolutely Stunning!
I get drunk every nearly every Saturday and jam this on piano. Just discovered the Dead South cover. I had an absolute blast singing along with a tambourine in hand. And the beauty is they didn't completely alter the structure, so on a first listen, singing the original melody verbatim synced me into a great harmony. Awesome, awesome fun. Well done fellas.
Oh Wow, I never made the connection when I clicked then I heard the melody and straight away thought "Well, this ain't gonna work" How wrong can a man be. Nate's voice was made for this. Awesome guys.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh There's 52 ways to murder anyone One and two are the same and they both work as well I'm coming clean for Amy Julie doesn't scream as well and the cops won't listen all night And so maybe, maybe I'll be over Just as soon as I fill 'em all in And I can remember when I saw her last We were running all around and having a blast But the back seat of the drive-in is so lonely without you Knowin' you're home I was thinking about you There was something I forgot to say I was crying on Saturday night I was cruising without you They were playing our song I was crying on Saturday night I can remember when I saw her last We were running all around and havin' a blast But the back seat of the drive-in is so lonely without you Knowin' you're home I was thinking about you There was something I forgot to say I was crying on Saturday night I was cruising without you They were playing our song I was crying on Saturday night As the moon becomes the nighttime You go viciously, quietly, away I'm sitting in the bedroom Where we used to sit and smoke cigarettes Now I'm watching, watching you die Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I can remember when I saw her last Woah We were running all around and havin' a blast Woah But the back seat of the drive-in is so lonely without you I know when you're home I was thinking about you There was somethin' I forgot to say I was crying on Saturday night I was out cruising without you They were playing our song I was crying on a Saturday night I was crying on a Saturday night I was crying on a Saturday night I was crying, oh I was crying on a Saturday night Ohhh
I watched Nate Hills do this song on his Instagram, he does spectacular shit on there....a lot of it is just him fuckin around ....but he's very talented and I think this band, is hands down the best band out right now in all genres of music!!!! #thedeadsouth
Sing that shit Nate!!! Hell of a job to Scott and Danny for backups too. All of you guys are awesome together. My wife and I were gonna go see the show last year in Nashville but COVID shit took over and we couldn't. Hopefully one day I can can see you all. I rewatch the House of Blues video on TH-cam, one of my favorite videos on TH-cam. Keep up the great work!! And thanks for bringing Danny back too!! He fits this band to a tee.
This song somehow made me care about guitar, folk music, Canada, and the misfits all at once. Seriously I've been participated in all 3 regularly since I first heard this. Thank you fellas. This is a fucking good version of this tune.
Absolutely epic! You did this song such justice. This whole album was amazing. Please play this at the House of Blues in Boston. I can't wait to see you guys live, oye!
I dont know the original song but i listening to the first 10sec and instantly fell in love!! I saw them live and it was the best time of my life!! Keep making great music boys!! I can't get enough!!
Listen on a Thursday night.. in anticipation of the ds gig on Saturday. I know the show will rock but damn I will explode if this makes the set list. 🤘
I was vaguely expecting this to be a cover of the Bay City Rollers and was thrilled that they covered the Misfits. This is one of my fave songs from Michale Graves era.
I love this and I am super happy to see that the credit says Michael Emanuel and not the Misfits. No offense, love the band, one of my favorite punk rock bands of all time.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me that you're covering Michael Graves fucking Misfits... like seriously. GRAVES CAN CROON WITH THE BEST... BIG UP DEAD SOUTH!
@@alice12unit13 I think it was gutsy to cover Misfits song without Danzig lyrics. I love it. I hope they cover OPERATION IVY BEFORE RANCID! ...AND OUT COME THE WOLVES...
this cover is still criminally underrated
The dead south in my opinion have never made a bad song, each one is fantastic. They have restored my faith in good music

Lol same, but I'm happy it happened
Seriously they made a dark song even darker and I loved it.
Idk I like both....they do very well.
It’s amazing how many people hear this song and completely misunderstand what this song is about due to how beautiful the hook is
How can you not understand it’s about a serial killer?
Nates voice nailed this perfectly.
I love The Misfits and The Dead South... this is perfection!!
Saaaaame! Unreal.. I just love this 😍😍😍
Agreed! I can't imagine a better cover now.
My favorite Misfits song covered by one of my favorite bands. Completely knocked it out of the park. Well done gentlemen!

Fuck yeah, they stuck with Nate’s quarantine cover!! 🙌🖤 Also, it makes me cry. In a good way. And that cello, though.
I've listened to this about 50 times today already.
This sent a different type of chill down my back. Absolutely love it. Beautifully fiddled!
I have listened to this over and over can’t get enough this is awesome, wouldn’t mind some live footage of them playing this absolute anthem!
As a lifelong member of the Fiend Club, this is the best cover for this song that I never knew I needed.
I'm surprised that this wonderful cover hasn't had a single reaction on TH-cam
Absolutely Beautiful....you guys should be very proud of this.....this is what music is all about. PEACE DOC

I was crying on a Saturday night

Crawfish crawlin' and Danny screechin' - oh yeah, Nate and Scott 'oh oh oh..' we hear you! Perfection done.
Feels as if you guys made this song your own. One of the rare cases a cover is better than the original.
Looking forward to seeing you tour in 2023.

The most beautiful song about murder I've ever heard. So so much better than the original, listening on repeat 😍🥰

I can honestly say that this song was meant to be a folk song
We need the banjo tab for this.

I would like to hear them cover Josh Turner - Your man. Now that would be a feast.
