You know what's a bummer about RDJ being Doctor Doom? Regardless if he does an amazing job as Doctor Doom, most casual audience are going to instantly call him an evil Iron Man, and that is a major disservice to the character. One of Marvel's best comic book villains is going to relegated as an Evil Iron Man. Which would never have happen if we got another amazing actor to play Doom instead.

Sorry for the spoilers (I say this because I have convinced myself that I am right), but the only reason I can think of to bring RDJ into the doom role is if he is going to go toe to toe with Stark in secret wars.... Picture it... Doom wins at the end of Doomsday and kills off half of the avengers, but someone remaining recognises him as Stark. Everything is a mess (akin to infinity war) leading into Secret Wars. The remaining avengers are trying to figure out a way to defeat an alt version of Stark and decide they need original Tony to do it. RDJ vs RDJ.... I cannot think of a better way to finish off the entire MCU, before its inevitable soft reboot, than pitting the first hero of the franchise (not chronologically) against the final boss, and them both being variants of the same person. You heard it here first. Feel free to shout at me in 3 years once it happens 😂

Tony is unaware of this fact and that’s the big reveal for his emotional arc as a villain when he sees that other versions of him became a hero instead of the villain as Tony stark
RDJ + Russo Brothers is Marvels "Break Glass In Case of Emergency". I don't entirely hate it but this essentially gives them a second chance at "okay what do we do after the Russo's leave and RDJ isn't our main star". They fumbled post-Endgame and this is their chance to retry.
RDJ will kill it as Doom. Seems to be a lot of hate about it but it is already better than the Kang stuff they were doing. I would love to see Doom turn the Hulk into a huge green rage monster again.
The thing that has me still nervous is build up. Thanos was built up for 6 years before Infinity War, since the end of phase 1. That’s what made it mean so much. Doom won’t have the same build up and arguably needs it more. The Secret Wars story is heavily reliant on build up

If Marvel really gave RDJ $100M a film for the upcoming Avengers movies, they're just dumb. And I like RDJ as Doom but you could've definitely cast someone great for the role and paid them a tenth of the price. No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine have also proven the MCU can still make top tier dollars if they do it right without RDJ.
I think they are "misleading" us. I think Doom is NOT a Stark Variant. I think he is playing a multi level mind game. He is using magic to look like Tony. to mislead others, That happens some times.Making the world think there greatest hero is now evil would be a great blow to all the world. Like a evil Superman. As for the intro, Have Doom destroy the TVA. Go in and take down all the characters from Loki series(Loki is up in the air) that would be a great show of power, and show how evil he is, looking farther . They maybe shutting down the multi verse arcs and this would be a way to start it.

here’s my guess: Doomsday doesn’t include any 616 heroes, instead we get the variants we’ve been getting (either of the Spider-Man, miles morales, Deadpool, Wolverine, F4, the guardians of the multiverse and maybe someone we haven’t met? Aka some more mutants) at the end doom wins we get a cataclysm that sends us into battle world, and that’s when 616 gets thrown into secret wars. Then we get the next movie, and by the end we lose 616 but get a whole new universe with the survivors, F4, Mutants, avengers, etc…

I will have to disagree with one point, Hulk did 100% job in his fight with thanos in infinity war. His entire purpose was to lose to thanos there and become smart hulk. That was the start of the fall for me for him.
marvel has already told the audience roughly how this is going to work in bits and pieces. RDJ is playing the victor von doom from the universe that the new fantastic 4 are from. its already been stated that the fantastic 4 are from another universe other than the secret timeline, and that its not a origin story and that its a retro futuristic timeline. thats why RDJ is perfect for this victor role as he is older now and the fantastic 4 we are getting are already established. in the fantastic 4 footage they showed at hall H, reed richards is studying the possibility of the multiverse. so whatever ends up bringing the fantastic 4 over to the sacred timeline also brings their victor von doom which of course will end up causing confusion when he shows up looking like tony stark. since the sacred timeline is missing its tony stark (who is most likely the anchor) this new victor/tony may become the new anchor of the sacred timeline which will mess everything up. We will still end up getting a new younger victor von doom in the future

I feel like Russo brothers gonna have redemption arc for Dr Dooms. We might see emotional attachment to his character. He might see his other variants as iron man and his life and he might turn good at the end. I feel like he’s gonna died though.

I kind of thought if they were ever to bring RDJ back an idea would be that the main timeline was facing some kind of threat that needed Tony Stark, (I guess with this anchor-being concept this could play into it) The Avengers nab a Tony Stark from another timeline, however it’s a very different Tony, it’s one that has never built the Iron Man suit, avoided the IED in Iron Man 1, was never captured by the Ten Rings and continued on the path he was going becoming a bigger weapons manufacturer, more self centred and a bigger egotist The Avengers have to convince him to use his intelligence for the greater good and show him how their Tony became obsessed with protecting and sacrificed himself, maybe also convincing him to build an Iron Man suit for his first time

What if it’s a 10 years anniversary for endgame/ Starks death and there is a huge celebration in New York City with many heroes and then DOOM appearances from his teleportation device and causes death and distraction in his wake. That’s where he kills pepper pots. Little hope has grown up and decides to attack him, but spider man protects her at the expense of his own life and that is how we get miles morales, untill spider man comes back after secret wars where the universe has been corrected.
He will show up in fantastic 4 in the end of the movie..he is a mastermind of dark magic and whatever may be the plot line of rhe movie..it's his doing to make himself a bigger player or villain for the avengers

I’m gonna guess that his very first and maybe second appearance is gonna have him completely masked, and we’re not gonna see that it’s Tony Stark until Avengers: Doomsday, because while we know it’s him none of the general audience knows, and so that’s gonna be a big, shock worthy moment that they’re probably gonna build up a little

If they do the Infinity War moment again it has to be serious and have stakes. Lets say the Fantastic Four escape Galactus and travel to a new universe. Imagine if Doom followed then Doomsday opens with incursions in multiple universes cause Doom keeps trying to find them and takes out other universes along the way.

I kind of thought if they were ever to bring RDJ back an idea would be that the main timeline was facing some kind of threat that needed Tony Stark, (I guess with this anchor-being concept this could play into it)
The Avengers nab a Tony Stark from another timeline, however it’s a very different Tony, it’s one that has never built the Iron Man suit, avoided the IED in Iron Man 1, was never captured by the Ten Rings and continued on the path he was going becoming a bigger weapons manufacturer, more self centred and a bigger egotist
The Avengers have to convince him to use his intelligence for the greater good and show him how their Tony became obsessed with protecting and sacrificed himself, maybe also convincing him to build an Iron Man suit for his first time

i don’t know why people don’t get this, if there was a post-credits scene similar to what John’s describing, i’m his castle (or anywhere else) Doom would be wearing his mask! Underneath the mask his face is completely disfigured. What John’s describing here is RDJ in a green cloak, not Doom.

That’s where he kills pepper pots. Little hope has grown up and decides to attack him, but spider man protects her at the expense of his own life and that is how we get miles morales, untill spider man comes back after secret wars where the universe has been corrected.

Assuming people would recognize him as Tony is like all Star Wars characters automatically recognizing Vader as Anakin. Do you see Vader strutting around without his helmet on all the time? Both characters are masked 99% of the time. It drives me crazy that people aren’t bringing this up.
