The Trident is a little bit low on power for me, but a nice bike , I am looking forward to the next review for a comparison ,😊
First thing I order for all my bikes. I’m going for Evotech for this bike but I’d have to wait as they’re out of stock. Funny thing is that Triumph doesn’t have Radiator guards in their accessories list.
One thing I don’t understand about the Street 765s are the dashboards. It seems to me that the 1st gen 765R & RS from 2017-19 had perfectly good and easy to read TFTs. For some reason they ditched those for the 2020 models and have yet to release one that’s as good.
Love both the current R and RS. Rode them both. Have to say i did notice a difference in the RS in terms of suspension, smoothness. But either bike is excellent. Definitely will be adding one to my stable..well done. Lookin forward to hear your comparison.
I’m not personally a massive fan of the looks of the Street Triple, but my god, what a great bike to ride. I’ve been on the RS for a couple of weeks, love it so need to get a go on the R version.
I was never a fan of the looks either and then i bought one on a whim. After a few minutes it was easy to see what all the hype was about. Epic motorcycles that are right on the sweetspot of power and handling
I was able to visit a Triumph Demo event and this was one of the bikes I got to ride, I rode the Triple R in white but my mate was able to ride the 1200 RS in orange. It was a real blast to ride and not really as intimidating that I thought it would be, very comfortable but the only complaint I have is when coming to a stop your bits are pressed right up against the tank which was a bit uncomfortable for me but other than that the bike was spot on. Definitely not really a beginners bike but it's not bad for a 2nd once you're ready to move up, the power is easily manageable if you can keep the throttle hand in check and it's there for when you want it. Love your reviews Andy, keep them coming!
Awesome review. I once had a 2 hour blast on the Moto 2 Triple, and it was way more than I expected. I'm looking forward to your impressions on the RS.
@@TheMissendenFlyer The RS 1200 is just way overbike , I’ve had mine a year now and honestly I’ve not had it over 7000 Rpm because it’s not needed, it’ll do 70 mph in 3rd without even trying , the Street Triple is all anyone needs 👍🏾

Stick with your Street Triple seriously it’s almost perfect 👍🏾
A decade ago i thought the front was weird, to today where i think the front looks great. Triumph has subtly redesigned the whole bike over the years to get those headlight design in sync with the whole design. But then i see the original 2007 triple and wonder, do they look the same now?
Spot on, your comment about the T Plain crank engine is bang on. Bought an 850 Sport new, and sold it 2 months later due to that lumpy, grumpy, snatchy engine. This 765 sounds superb. Changing the firing order is a mistake… that whine IS Triumph, not something that sounds like a Ford Focus…..

That's a really good bike especially for the money. Fit and finish is tops. That 120 degree crank motor has the torque and smoothness. I'd take it over a similar four anyday. Harkens back to my 77 Yamaha XS 750 days. Issues yes, great smooth motor

Can see why the RS Has made the Daytona redundant if as if not quick on track yet more road friendly . The reason for one running light , I think its to Not give the allusion of a car head lights in the distance in the dark or poor viability .
Great bike, indeed you don't need more power, it has got plenty, but it is light, and that matters. For that reason I would prefer this one over the more powerful (and heavier) one.
The dumbest thing about this bike to differentiate itself from the RS model is the way the DRL's/headlights are set up. Unlike the other differences it just makes absolutely ZERO sense. I can't gather any cost reason, and think it is purely cosmetic. I plan to book an R this week. With the exchange rate in my country the jump to RS is too much for me personally. But that headlight bothers me. The lovely belly pan in the RS is not there, but at least I can add that as an option. Can't do anything with the headlight. Enjoyed the review very much. Cheers!
Great review as always and what an unbelievable price at less than 10K. Can't wait for your RS review as that looks one hell of an awesome bike, and not just for the money. You've probably seen Kate's review where she was having one of her continual wet dream moments with it so it'll be fascinating to find out what you think. All the best mate 👍
I went for the RS (in cosmic yellow) as I thought it was a slightly plusher ride but the new shorter gearing on both bikes gives the low and mid range acceleration a significant boost to the extent that you don't really feel the RSs extra 10 bhp until the top of the rev range, I'm with you 100% on the Rs TFT being better than the RSs, the one on the RS is too cluttered and is a bit Fisher Price but the extras on the RS like the Ohlins rear suspension and Brembo stylemas won me over but most of all the colour.
@@waltsmith6515 Yeah, it does seem an odd choice to not have the ohlins on the front too. I think only the extremely exclusive Moto2 version has ohlins on the front end.
Indeed! Ditto with cruise control which is only optional on the RS. Quite why Triumph decided that the more track-focused variant should be the only one to have optional cruise control is anybody's guess!
I agree the fit and finish, and attention to detail is fantastic on the Triumph. I test rode a Street Triple RS and an MT-09SP back to back and even though I'm also a Triumph fan, I'm the owner of a "classic" 2010 675 Street Triple, at my 6ft2in height, the cramped up riding position of the Triumph Vs the roomy Yamaha was a no brainer. I'm now a very happy owner of an MT09-SP. Although I've kept my 675 as well as I couldn't bear to part with it.😀
The Triumph site's configurator for the new Street Triple 765 is really confusing in relation to the security devices offered. It doesn't let you choose both the alarm (Protect+) and tracking device (Track+) together. As the description for Track+ makes no mention of it featuring an alarm system I therefore presume that the new Street Triple 765 can't have an alarm system plus tracking system. It's one or the other. That seems bizarre! Also, the configurator won't let you choose the Connectivity module along with Track+ or Protect+. The descriptions for Track+ and Protect+ make no mention of them featuring what the Connectivity module offers. So are we to presume that customers wanting the Connectivity features can't also have the alarm system or the tracking system? Again, that seems bizarre! To further confuse matters, I checked to see if it was the same for the Trident whereby I discovered the situation differs to the Street Triple 765. With the Trident it's possible to choose the Connectivity module plus Protect+ or Track+ together. But, like with the Street Triple 765, not Protect+ and Track+ together.
Great review of a great bike, i wish triumph would be more adventurous with colour schemes across the range, not just certain models. The yellow on the RS is amazing, the grey and white for this model is uninspiring in my opinion and would be a case of choosing which colour I dislike the least.
Great review of a fantastic bike. Looking forward to thr RS review, and the comparison video, but I reckon you wouldn't need much more than the 765R by the sound of it.
Great Bikes. I had a the 675, sold it because the wife did not appreciate the headbanging way these bikes make you ride, most of the time in full flight it sounded like an angry chainsaw 🙂
Super review Andy and I’m seriously thinking of exchanging my RS660 for one. The mono headlight would also seriously affect my OCD. I smirked at the obligatory shot of Matilda’s! 😉 See you soon. 👌🏍
Thanks for another great review. Something that may be of use to prospective buyers is the maintenance schedule and cost. E.g., I’ve always been a Honda guy so was shocked (!) when I started taking my GS in for scheduled maintenance. Thanks again.
I took delivery of a street triple RS last month. It lasted a week. It just didn’t seem anything like the first one I had years ago (Street Triple R). Sure it was faster, way better equipped but for some reason, I couldn’t bond with it. I knew I wasn’t going to like it a mile down the road from the dealer. I’m now back on a Ducati.
@@TheMissendenFlyer It was impossible. I went off the reviews / marketing. If I had have waited to test ride a demo then the risk would’ve been I wouldn’t get the bike until the autumn due to ongoing delays. I was certain I’d like it so ordered as early as I could.
Thought I'd revisit this video as I'm seriously thinking about one for my next bike (and to get back on safer ground!). I think this R model is probably the one for me, maybe with the addition of the optional belly pan... although that lovely yellow colour available on the RS is very tempting.
Lovely bike. Perfect power and performance balance. Would love one in an ideal world. I think the dash lets it down a bit though. A little on the pricey end for my budget and I’d be paranoid it’ll get nicked - (I’ve just bought an 8S and it’s amazing enough for me).
Well done, as always, mr Flyer. Imo those headlights are...not nice. I do like the underbike exhaust though. And the whining sound you like is, in my ears, not nice. Sounds like a...well, I leave that out! I think your old one looked better. Imagin this one in colours! Yes, I have tried a couple of these and it's not for me. Thank you mr Flyer!
Hi Andy, I do think that for the money 765R offers more than excellent specs. It still is very naked though of which I'm not a huge fan and I wouldn't consider one to be honest. I did test ride the Triumph tiger 660 sport and it was a real surprise. Loved the engine and comfort of 660. Do you really need the 765R performance on the street? I found the 660 to be fast enough already......
The one thing the R does not get is the option to add cruise control. You can in the RS though. Not sure why they made that decision. Maybe to get more into the RS. Not a dealbreaker for me as I don't take long highway trips
Cruise is not available on the R, the switchgear and dash are different to the RS and this is the reason why, according to the dealer that sold me my R.
Yes, it's certainly a good looking machine, I might criticise the TFT?? Looks quite small in comparison with the Go-Pro? Look forward to your further comments.
Love this and having had a 675R and 765RS, it looks like they’ve got it right again. I didn’t get on with my 2018 RS as I found it really quite dull but the new R looks fun. Great review, as always 👍🏻
Its obviously got some pace. What's the comparison to a street 1000? GSXS 1000, MT-10, handling and power etc? I think what im asking is, because the price is amazing with all that tech, and 1000cc power is to much for the road, is this a better choice?
Those sinuous & organic looking downpipes (allied to the bike's power output) more than suggest to me, that in the land of sending hot gases round corners, some serious thought & fluid dynamics malarkey has been layered on that exhaust system. (I doubt they first tried a pair of 'Ray-gun' silencers off the original 750 triples though, - they'd probably weigh more than this entire bike - & likely halve the power! : )
Andy.... Andy... Andy... there's a simple solution, suggestive sell Mrs TMF on her first bike being a 765R Low suspension, light. fast, frugal... ish... as long as she wants to do her test (of course!)
A bit later but morning. I'm like you I have a special spot in my heart for triumph street triple r an like you I had the 2012 model an like you I didn't like the one after it an like you I had to sell her for space an as usual if I would have just wated a year I could have still had her. after my kid's it was the biggest mistake getting rid but now I have a man cave soooooo big I could open a bike shop in it plus still have room for my bike's I'm never selling anymore ever again. An I'm working on my wife now for this one but I'll get the rs or gp one if I'm lucky enough. But the sound of this is bringing back memories
l concur with everything you have to say about the Twiple..its the epitome of ''If it look right its is right''. As I've mentioned on your show before l own a 2014 675R its brilliant, plus its a better colour ...(mine is Red & Black)..Colour aside, the Triple just gets better and better.... its the benchmark of the genre...l threw a leg over a Gold RS at the Alicante dealership ....If only the exchange rate would go back to pre-brexit value....in the meantime l will continue to be a ingles minor hooligan about the Spanish countryside.. It's a bike I see loads of out in the wild. Interested in the comparison to the RS.
At the risk of being lynched, perhaps the 899 can make way for it.
Greta review. Is wheelie control seperately switchable or built in to traction control?
I don't know - sorry!
Love the sound of the triple.
Me too....
Although I've kept my 675 as well as I couldn't bear to part with it.😀
I know how you feel!
Very nice dude.. look forward to hearing what you think of the RS 😊😊
Coming soon!
Great review Andy!
Glad you enjoyed it
The Triumph site's configurator for the new Street Triple 765 is really confusing in relation to the security devices offered.
Very weird!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Indeed. Most likely an oversight by the IT guy/contractor responsible for the configurator!

Nothing out of the ordinary, all part of being a MT-09/XSR 900 rider 😉
I feel that my US ’24 765 Moto2 has notably more midrange than my '18 765 RS had, man the old RS was really high strung.
“Riding like a nut job” on a new street triple. I love it!
Just watched your vlog on the 765.
Did you find the handlebars were slightly narrow?
You appear to hold the throttle at the very end ?
Unusual.
No - it's just a goPro illusion
Great review of a great bike, i wish triumph would be more adventurous with colour schemes across the range, not just certain models. The yellow on the RS is amazing, the grey and white for this model is uninspiring in my opinion and would be a case of choosing which colour I dislike the least.
Totally agree
Great review of a fantastic bike. Looking forward to thr RS review, and the comparison video, but I reckon you wouldn't need much more than the 765R by the sound of it.
The RS is on my wish list. I'm a bit puzzled by the tangled look of the exhaust headers though.
I think they look cool....but then I'm just a Triumph fan....
They actually look pretty good up close
@@TheMissendenFlyer Maybe it was the angle I saw them from ?
Won't be long before we see one of these in your garage. Thought you would have liked the yellow flash on it as it matched your lid.
Great Bikes. I had a the 675, sold it because the wife did not appreciate the headbanging way these bikes make you ride, most of the time in full flight it sounded like an angry chainsaw 🙂
Right on!
Shoulda tried upshifting
Super review Andy and I’m seriously thinking of exchanging my RS660 for one. The mono headlight would also seriously affect my OCD. I smirked at the obligatory shot of Matilda’s! 😉 See you soon. 👌🏍
I wondered if you’d spot it!!
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this! RS next I hope
Crikey - I’m surprised….didn’t you test ride one??
@@TheMissendenFlyer It was impossible. I went off the reviews / marketing. If I had have waited to test ride a demo then the risk would’ve been I wouldn’t get the bike until the autumn due to ongoing delays. I was certain I’d like it so ordered as early as I could.
@@Johnhere I see....
So, you quite like it then.... Nicely done TMF, look forward to the RS review.
I love it
Nice! Really looking forward to the RS vid!
Coming soon!
Thought I'd revisit this video as I'm seriously thinking about one for my next bike (and to get back on safer ground!). I think this R model is probably the one for me, maybe with the addition of the optional belly pan... although that lovely yellow colour available on the RS is very tempting.
It is isn't it....
How interesting! Everythingabout this bike I love...!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer 😂👍
Hi Andy, I do think that for the money 765R offers more than excellent specs. It still is very naked though of which I'm not a huge fan and I wouldn't consider one to be honest. I did test ride the Triumph tiger 660 sport and it was a real surprise. Loved the engine and comfort of 660. Do you really need the 765R performance on the street? I found the 660 to be fast enough already......
Sir! We need a middle weight shootout between the street tripe rs; mt09 sp; and the 890 Duke r - please help us understand!!
The one thing the R does not get is the option to add cruise control. You can in the RS though. Not sure why they made that decision. Maybe to get more into the RS. Not a dealbreaker for me as I don't take long highway trips
That's interesting....wonder why they did that....
I understand you can get it on the R
Cruise is not available on the R, the switchgear and dash are different to the RS and this is the reason why, according to the dealer that sold me my R.
Yes, it's certainly a good looking machine, I might criticise the TFT??
Looks quite small in comparison with the Go-Pro?
Look forward to your further comments.
I actually prefer this display to the one on the RS I think...maybe...close call!!
Love this and having had a 675R and 765RS, it looks like they’ve got it right again. I didn’t get on with my 2018 RS as I found it really quite dull but the new R looks fun.
Great review, as always 👍🏻
Thank you!
Great review again andy bike sounds an looks good colour is good but the black an gold you had was cool
Please don't remind me!!
Just my opinion, I don't like the front lens. But looks like a fun bike. Great review
Thanks! 👍
Its obviously got some pace. What's the comparison to a street 1000? GSXS 1000, MT-10, handling and power etc? I think what im asking is, because the price is amazing with all that tech, and 1000cc power is to much for the road, is this a better choice?
Yes
Those sinuous & organic looking downpipes (allied to the bike's power output) more than suggest to me, that in the land of sending hot gases round corners, some serious thought & fluid dynamics malarkey has been layered on that exhaust system.
(I doubt they first tried a pair of 'Ray-gun' silencers off the original 750 triples though, - they'd probably weigh more than this entire bike - & likely halve the power! : )
Morning Mr Flyer sir, are you doing any vids on you aircraft antics at all?
Yes I will likely publish a bonus flying video soon (I have one "in the can" ready to go)....stay tuned....
@@TheMissendenFlyer luvly jublee 😁
Is it possible to only have the drl's running on the RS? Hate that only one light comes on...
Yes me too - and tbh I’m not sure it is possible…..
Had a choice between the rs version of this the 890r and and the mt09 sp got the mt09 sp coming Friday
Congratulations!
Andy.... Andy... Andy... there's a simple solution, suggestive sell Mrs TMF on her first bike being a 765R Low suspension, light. fast, frugal... ish... as long as she wants to do her test (of course!)
Don't think I haven't thought of that!!
Liking the sound of that man cave!
Great review Andy. I now want one 😜
Join the club....
TMF ,how does this bike compare in performance to your Triumph twin?
Interesting question - feels more agile but the big twin feels more grunty low down - the Street has way more top end to give….
Relaxing vs exciting.
Am I correct that they neutered the option to add a slip-on option?
I think you may well be yes…
l concur with everything you have to say about the Twiple..its the epitome of ''If it look right its is right''. Greetings from España.
One of these on those Spanish roads would be epic!
@@TheMissendenFlyer My nine year old 675 still is epic..🏍
Brilliant video Andy. I have just bought a triumph 955i Sr on a 2004 plate. I have a tiger 900 rally plus witch we use for touring. Be interesting to see what the new rs is like. Keep up the Brilliant videos. 👍
Thank you - will do!
Decent review 👍👍 I am really interested in your RS Street report Andy, can you see if it has a tacho display with Speedo in the middle option instead of that twatting hard to read wing graph rev counter malarkey ? It would really spoil it for me if it hadn't ?
My review is already "in the can" - publishing soon....
Test rode one today, loved it! What do you think between this and the Kawasaki Z900 RS? Thanks, your channel is brilliant!
Having owned both I’d say they are both excellent bikes! Go for the one you like the look of the most.
Thank you!
Hey Andy, will we be getting a KTM Duke 890/890R review? 😁
No plans at the moment....
@@xorbe2 KTM is what with tester bikes?
@@gss6531 I read that KTM is stingy with tester bikes.
Great review
Nice bike
See you at the ABR in a couple of weeks
Sure thing - come and say hello if you see me wandering about, can't wait!!
I initially wanted to comment about "white van" encounter, but at the end you almost had one to follow. Good job beating him at the roundabout. 😄 Cheers.
And finally, great review on the motorbike as always.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That radiator looks massive
I love the look of these but I still prefer the old one with the big round headlights, great review again Andy.
Agree entirely on the headlights; can't see past them 😂
Thanks! 👍
