- In this video I discuss the problem with Spookston in War Thunder by playing with Spookston. Basically, this man needs to be stopped because he's FAR too good in an M24 Chaffee for his own good and everyone around him! :)

BTW guys, Spookston's favorite vehicle is no longer the HSTV-L, it's actually the RDFL-T. The RDFL-T is the production version of the HSTV-L

The M51 is just...when the 105mm is able to act like an 105mm, it rocks with one hitting King Tigers. Then, there are times where it would just wound and not actually kill crews.
Make the M51 lethal again
Sometimes it kills everything
Other times you feel like a 75mm Sherman at 6.7

The reason why things just seem to do more damage the further you are is because, at least according to my thought process, when you shoot, the shot curves down as it head toward the target, meaning that at the point of impact, the angle of impact is probably closer to perpendicular than anything, and would reduce the theoretical thickness of an angled armor piece.

I think another possibility is that a slower round creates more shrapnel as it pushes the armor more than just slicing through it? Not sure

This is referred to as the angle of fall, and is one of the main reasons most modern vehicles moved to very shallow angles on their upper plates, to prevent a perpindicular impact from long range.

That last game was literally Spookston and Odd dragging their team kicking and screaming to victory.
The Spookston Problem? You mean his ability to attract CAS?
That comment with the M-51 - about it seeming to do more damage the further away you are - is somewhat accurate because the further away you are from an enemy vehicle, the more the shell arcs downward. That tends to put it at a better angle for punching through things like the angled plate of a Panther or King Tiger. M-51s are my primary tank in War Thunder and I definitely try to spend most of my time sniping instead of brawling because it's an absolute beast at range.

With the HEAT at long range, the the downward arc forces alot of the pressure downward and into the vehicle instead of up and away

AP rounds do more damage in terms of spalling the more residual penetration they have,but this damage modifier also applies the the shrapnel created by the detonations of filler in APHE rounds. I'm not sure if this is accurate to real life and therefore intentional or if it's just a bug.

The Israeli spitfire’s rockets are so good. If you get skilled at aiming them you can one shot Panthers with those rockets.
The new smoke effects are so bad, when you get near a cloud of smoke a picture like of smoke just covers all your screen and your tank is not even halfway in the smoke, it’s not even working how it should, it’s so cheap and people most of the times can see you through it because of bugs

Today, I had one of your bad network connection matches. I was playing the Chinese IS-2 to get the Holiday decal and I rubber banded back and forth for 3 minutes on Alaska map. I was near the normal C cap area when the server went nuts and it bounced me back to the spawn, then sideways to C and back again. Several times. I finally died to a Tiger E and just got in a AAA and just sat there the rest of the match.
Very annoying.
Why is the max quality for this video is only 360p?
I have a rather short story. I was in a match, playing well. I had gotten the spawn points needed for a F6F-5N with Hvars and 2 1000 pound bombs. I had no more bombs, so I shot an HVAR rocket at a KV-1, and it bounced off of the roof!
Sounds about right those rockets don’t have enough pen and you probably were at a sharp angle

@Spookston is a great content creator, however he does have a bit of a negative vibe which detracts me from watching regularly.
Look forward to the ARL44, I actually enjoyed grinding it, its a struggle to begin with but when aced I found it reasonably decent in all but full uptiers.

I recently got to 6.7 US, and I’ve found that I haven’t had a decent game since. When I’m not in a full uptier, the team folds like origami. Is this a normal occurrence, or am I just getting unlucky?
It’s normal and unlucky. I play 6.7 a lot and it’s a 50/50 ride
