@@KUBE2219 A great resource is the Anchorage PD crime map that you can find online. There you can see what kind of crimes are permitted out here and you can decide if it's in your comfort level.

My family and I are looking to relocate from TN to AK and would love to live in Eagle River. I work in healthcare, and my husband can work from home. How is the housing market in Eagle River? How is the commute to Anchorage? Thanks for your help!!

@@jessicaflanary7118 Hey Jessica! That's exciting. Have yall visited before? Great question. Check out this video below. By and large, it's a hopping market BUT it really depends on what you're looking for and the specific area. I've had a high rate of success with my buyers lately. th-cam.com/video/PrYXH1VueZk/w-d-xo.html

      I love to grow vegetables.
What kind of veggies grow well there?
How long is your growing season and how many months of cold (below freezing) do you get on average?

Does Eagle River have the same building bureaucracy as Anchorage?

    • @alaska_realtor
      @alaska_realtor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

We have the same building code but we don't have the city inspectors coming out if that's what you mean.

Haha I said the same thing about the Walmart out here, it’s kinda boujee for a Walmart.
I’ve lived here for 3 years and I LOVE IT.
I don’t think I could ever move back to Anchorage unless I stepped up a few economic classes lol.
What surprises me all the time as I drive around out here is the number of huge expensive homes... and they just keep building them!!
Randomly you will see an actual mansion just tucked away in the trees so unsuspecting.
It’s a beauuutiful place to live. Very hard to leave.

It's so true! Chugiak is even more like that with the really nice houses sneaking up on you lol

I grew up spending my summers in Chugiak. I currently live in Idaho, but we are considering relocating the family. We have a house paid for there. Is it difficult to get a decent job without commuting to Anchorage? Thank you for all your videos, I really enjoy them!

That's awesome! This is going to sound really flaky, but it really depends on your profession. I work in Eagle River and rarely have to commute but my industry is a little unique.

My husband is currently an HR Manager for a fabrication shop. He has been there 12 years. Does it help to know people in the area to get a job?

    • @alaska_realtor

@@brooke0130 Yes, that would help a ton! That and having some kind of track record of living in the area or perhaps even knowing someone who has lived in the area for a while.

How is the internet connectivity in the Eagle River area? I can work anywhere so long as the connection is good.

I get by just fine. I've worked with a number of people for whom the internet was really important for large TH-cam channels and they haven't had a problem with the internet.

Exactly! Go north to the Valley! Cheaper housing etc.
