  • Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

    If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.

    Gotta give the video a thumbs up. Especially since you showed the Bruce Lee statue. Good stuff Joe. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for watching. All I knew about Hong Kong in the 1970's was Bruce Lee

    I went there in 1975 when I was 8. I remember there being loads of junks on the harbour then. We went for a harbour cruise which went round to Aberdeen and did a lap around the bu4nt out wreck of the Queen Elizabeth. We flew in and out through the old airport.

      Things must have really changed since 1975. I've been many times. It's a great city to visit. Pretty expensive to live

    We are moving to Malaysia next year and looking forward to visiting the other SEA countries. We've been a few times to HK but a couple of decades ago. Probably a very different world since 1997 and the handover to China from us Brits. Enjoy your daily vlogging. We certainly appreciate you taking us along for the ride.

      Thanks for watching. Yes it's changed since I visited long ago. But, it still has a UK vibe. In the next few videos you'll see many of the pubs I visited. Malaysia will be great. A very close flight to Bangkok

      @@EagerExpat We're currently in Portugal - looking for much better flavoursome foods in Malaysia, decent beer, much better buildings, incredible infrastructure, roads and a much modern vibe. Would be great to be in a country where young graduates don't all scramble to escape to other countries. European sh1tshow!

      @@tinglestingles I hear ya. Come take a look at Bangkok too. I must have 12 friends that moved here from Kuala Lumpur. It's a fine city, but it's spread out. Bangkok is like New York City. KL is like Southern California. Get in the car and drive 10 miles here, 5 miles there. Of course many people don't like a big city. I love it. I can be in 3 places in and hour. Plus, it's cheap to live here

      @@EagerExpat Cheers! We will be visiting Bangkok. That's why your videos are so important. Our preferred place is Penang, outside George Town for the old colonial vibe. Close to the sea and a nice condo.

    Great little trip from BKK. One more great reason to be in BKK, lot of cool International travel just a short flight away. Only transited through HKG and not enough time to get out and explore. Hopefully one day. Great travel partner! Always more fun to enjoy nicer hotels and exploration with someone.

      No. Hong Kong gives a 30 day(?) visa exempt. Same with Thailand. You need a visa for mainland China. I've been many times to Hong Kong. It's a pretty mellow city.

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love Hong Kong. Way more mellow than mainland China. It still feels like the UK to me. If you didn't like HK, I would steer very far from mainland. That is a pushy, cut in the que, type of city. The only problem I have with HK is the high cost. It's getting way closer to Singapore prices lately

    Joe, is AMEX accepted?

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Amex is rarely accepted at smaller places. They charge the merchant 4%. Even the visa 2.6% is rounded to 3% in Thailand and often passed back onto the customer
