      If any country can be accused of breaking agreements it is the western nations.

      I love how the channel omits how in 2014 a democratically elected government was toppled and an anti-russian government was installed with Victoria Nuland choosing who will rule the country. Then elections start which can't be held in the DENSELY POPULATED pro-russian Donbass region because of the civil war and the separatist entities. The Donbass and Crimea were the reason why Yanukovich was even able to get so many votes in the first place. The overthrown government in Kiev did de facto not represent the people of Donbass and Crimea. But of course, if you hold elections without them which generate results that are completely different from what you had before the overthrow it looks like the thing before must have been fake.
      What a joke.

      Precisely. There is more: Germany was the guarantor of the Minsk Accords. In January 2023 Ms Merkel admitted on record that the accords were not for real and were never meant to be implemented. Her statement was confirmed by Poroshenko and Hollande as correct. In other words, both accords were effectively a farce aimed at deceiving Russia. Both were legally binding in international format. Thus it is the West that made a mockery of international law.

      @@albevanhanoy issue with this is, it's not that simple. When a sponsor comes, they have their wishes. A YT'er can negotiate but taking too much time in negotiating ultimately hurts the video as too much time is being lost to negotiating. Also putting it in the beginning or end is a tough one for sponsors as they are not stupid and know a lot of people will just fastforward that section or well at the end, nobody will finish the video to watch the ad. Though when the sponsor paid, they paid. So it's a very logica thing that they have their demands on how and when. It is a difficult position to negotiate from when you're a smaller YT channel. I'm fairly sure that EUMS would continue without any sponsors and such if it was a possibility. They seem very driven on bringing quality videos first and that's something we gotta cherish. Adding sponsors is a thing that will always have some impact and it takes time to get it right and the feel to negotiate and how long to put time in it to negotiate so it doesn't hurt the video nor the viewer. In the end it's a calculation the channel has to make .. maybe upset x people but don't lose x time in negotiating, thus bringing x more value to the video and so on. It's a very difficult equation. Anyways, keep going EUMS, as always good job. I don't think this sponsor was a bad choice, only thing for me is that I wouldn't sell your 'opinion' as in, "I enjoy this game a lot, etc" .. if it is true, sure say it but if you do this with all sponsors eventually people will think.. hmm.. what's the credibility of the entire person and thus channel? That's something important afaik.

    @EUMadeSimple It actually surprises me that you, a EU channel didn't bring up Article 42.7 as a mutual defense within the EU. It also has much stronger wording then Article 5 of Nato.
    "If a Member State is victim of armed aggression on its territory, the other Member Stats shall have towards it an obligation of aid and assistance by ALL THE MEANS IN THEIR POWER."
    I would say that doesn't open up for any question what to do, as it basically say that all member stats has to do what ever they can, and Germany fore sample has tanks, and its possible to send it, that means they has to as its in their power to do so... Which also would include sending troops.

    • @dragonfire3727
      @dragonfire3727 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      "in their power" could be interpreted like what EU is doing toward Ukraine and wouldn't mean all members will join the war, it need a more direct wording like "if a member get attacked by another country all members must declare war on the attacking country".

    • @julianeliesen9866
      @julianeliesen9866 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@dragonfire3727 Yes I would agree if its only said "in their power", but it said "all the means in their power". Its in our power to send troops to Ukraine now, we just choose not to, but in the Article 42.7 you have an obligation to use it if its in your power to do so. I guess any country could lie and say its not in their power, but that would be a flat out lie. I do agree it would be best if they made the wording a bit more clear by saying that if someone attacks anyone in the EU everyone else would join the war, "declare war" on the attacking country would not be right though, as they are not attacking, but defending, so they would see it as the attacking country declaring war on everyone.

    • @rphb5870

      I don't think you know what annexation means. Chechnya was part of Soviet Union proper, and Russia inherited it's territory. They waged two wars, but both of them were considered civil conflicts as it was within internal national borders.
      Armenia is more closely aligned with Russia, historically, although some ties were weakened due to lack of Russian military support. Azerbaijan is more closely aligned with Turkey, both in opposition to Armenia, as well as Azerbaijan's reluctance to be swayed into Iranian's sphere of influence. Lastly, Georgia was drifting towards EU/US influence, until the most recent election, which seems initially to be more pro-Russia.

It’s kind of fabricated… and the region has been annexed by many powers over the last 700 years, including the Mongolians, but also the Poles, Ottomans, and now Russians. There’s almost no ancestry or nationalism there that is separate from Russia or Poland.

      If you're hinting at Ukraine's desire to join NATO, I'll tell you that originally we hadn't wanted to join the alliance. Like, why did we even need this, while Russia undertook to protect us in exchange in our nuclear weapons? But later Russia occupied Crimea and showed that it doesn't give a damn about Budapest agreement, and we understood that NATO is the only way to get protected from Russia.
      Russia also substantiated its decision to invade Ukraine as the consequence of our desire to join NATO. Well, the invasion made Finland and Sweden to join it, and now Russia has much longer border with NATO as if only Ukraine had joined the alliance; and now NATO fully dominates in Baltic sea. And for "some reasons" Russia hadn't invaded Finland when it declared its desire to join the Alliance 🤔

      @@Nezalezhnyi Indeed. Some people call Putin the most successful NATO agent in history - if it wasn't for his aggressive behaviour toward his neighbors, Finland and Sweden would've never joined the alliance. And even taking Ukraine doesn't make much sense because then Russia will share a border with Poland and Romania, which are NATO countries. The thought process of the Kremilin bottox dwarf just NEVER made any sense.

      Funnily enough, I've recently finished watching Michael Palin's New Europe series that he did in 2007, and when he was in Ukraine he remarked about how some parts of the country are actually quite pro Russian, particularly Crimea, which is interesting. Everyone makes such a big fuss about the annexation, but most people there are ethnically Russian anyway, plus the Ukrainians didn’t exactly do much for the place, so would letting the pro Russian parts of Ukraine join Russia necessarily be such a bad thing? After all, the Bosnian War ended with the country being divided between the Serbs and everyone else, so perhaps something similar could be the solution for Ukraine

    • @fakestiv

      @@Inkyminkyzizwoz That's the reason why I think taking back Crimea now would be a grave mistake, even IF it was somehow possible. The situation was already complex before, but although I strongly condemn militarily annexing ANY terrain, with Russia's great interest in the region now you can pretty much safely bet that the majority of the population wants to stay with Russia (whether because they are receiving more care or because of more blunt actions to control public opinion).
      I'd like to reiterate though that taking any region from another country with the military IS a big deal that no one should ever try and a big fuss SHOULD be made about it.

    I know ads are very important for a channel to survive. But this is the second time you say that the specific ad you're running is one of your favorites or helped you a lot.. is it truly so? Or is it just an easy way into the subject? I would also recommend choosing ads more carefully.. BetterHelp is known as a shitty service with their patients info leaking, etc.. and this war game.. well for some people this a touchy subject and promoting a war game (that you do play?) might hit a wrong note with some people.. defeating the purpose of receiving a deserved return and ways to grow the channel. I know monetizing a channel somewhat is difficult, YT gives way too little to smaller channels but do consider reading the comment section, etc. You'll see that definitely the BH ad wasn't welcomed and this one also seems a bit of a miss.. not for me, I kinda giggled and only questioned in myself like.. does he really mean what he says about his ads, it's been twice now that you talk kinda biased.. but for example if BH didn't actually help you or you didn't have a rough time like you said.. it does offend people that DID/DO have such issues and definitely hurts. The war game is whatever but I can't imagine a world where you truly play this game?? I dno, maybe you do.. anyways, ad companies will often give you a script or like 'what you need to say' .. don't be shy to negotiate it and definitely don't sell yourself out.

      @Vahndamme 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EUMadeSimple When I wrote it, I was quite sure you did already read them. Of course it is difficult to react to the backlash when the sponsor recently sponsored a video. Can't exactly let them sponsor you and then 'sh*t' on them in the comments and say you'll never work with them again because of a backlash. I understand that fully, I hope other viewers do too.
      Growing a youtube channel and getting the right amount of revenue to grow it further and make it less stingy to keep putting in the same work (usually the work increases) is difficult. At some point you're also prompted with, "I've put so much effort into the channel but I also wanna be rewarded a bit for it" (as in wage for your honest work) and that also poses a big challenge. TH-cam's monetization is no way sufficient for proper let alone proper growing and rewarding the creators behind it.
      A lot, such as your self work with Patreon which is good but then you have people like me that aren't really in the position (or simply don't want, let's be honest) to be patreon of multiple channels. For me I consume so much knowledge on TH-cam.. if TH-cam made some kind of tier that my views would generate a lot more for the channels I view.. then I would do it within a heartbeat, but going to everybody's patreon and sign in is a bit too much for me and also too costly afaik. Though, such a model by TH-cam would be too much, they'll 99% chance want the biggest piece of such a tier and that hurts the entire thing also. It would be fair if they add other perks into it but heh, complicated. I doubt they'll ever do such a thing. I do know there's a platform like Nebula who does it fairer (according to some YT'ers I follow) but I don't know, YT is still firstmover and thus Nebula feels to me more like an Amazon Prime, a Netflix, a Disney+, a HBO Max and so on... TH-cam is just too big and you also don't want to split your focus amongst platforms I think. Like imagine people using one browser or one search engine.. they're not gonna be like ah yes, let me try another browser or search engine for all the rest. (And even pay for it - that's kinda Nebula) same functions, just different platform and paid. It's more honest towards creators but I doubt people will do the effort to really move out of the way.
      Anyways back to topic, well it was on topic kinda.. it shows once again how important in channel and video monetizing is and that ads and sponsors are crucial to the growth and wellfare of the channel. I'm no YT guru, I think you did a very good job already and keep doing it. I truly hope you find and strike the right balance for you and your team. All I know from viewing other YT'ers, they all said that negotiation is possible. But of course, they were big fish channels already. But I do believe there's always room for negotiation, regardless of each involved party's strength. I've learned so much from my carreer in sales. But also there you gotta feel how much and how long such negotiation takes because sometimes it's actually a net loss if you count the time on negotiating compared to what kind of a backlash you'd get. I believe for example the war game backlash wasn't too big, it were mainly people saying that it was ill timed and so on. But that's 'easily' changed by making it more clear when the sponsored section is coming. Then you have the people who sadly skip it, that's no bueno either. I've seen some channel put like some time bar on the bottom for how long the sponsored content will still take up in the video. I don't know what's best really but certainly I don't think this was a TOTALLY wrong sponsor. Like I said, I giggled for obvious reasons. Then again, I'm not easily offended. I'm no emotional replyer let's say, I always think bigger picture before I reply thus more rational reply.
      Anyways, another wall of text by me. In short, keep doing what you're doing, it's a lovely channel and I hope it's growing at a decent rate, especially now with the election period. The EU definitely needs more people to get into it because we need to stay relevant in geopolitics. I think you also bring the material very good, I've seen reporters from Belgium (e.g. Van Impe from Het Nieuwsblad) on her podcast being mega mega mega subjective and biased. It was a shame to watch and give my view to but I just needed to see all the media about the upcoming election. We need to be informed and preferably by journalists and such that are unbiased or at least bring it in a fairly unbiased way. So again, kudos, hats off to you and your team.

    It makes no sense for Russia to go to war with any other countries, the issue with Ukraine is one which has been going on since 2014. Since Russia already has troops in Transnistria there is no need for war, they can merely ignore Moldovan demands and let Transnistria effectively operate as a republic within the federation without it legally being so. The Baltic states, Poland, and Finland all detest the Russians so military occupation or a Russian puppet government will just not work and will be far too expensive to maintain, imagine the US's fiasco with Afgahnistan and then dial it up to 11.
    Russians look at fact and logic without considering the emotions, that is the Russian mentality. The West act on emotion without considering the purpose of military conflict from the Russian view. After Ukraine there will be no war with NATO countries, if anything NATO will probably do a false flag operation to justify war since they are so adamant about escalating the war in Ukraine. And yes, the Western governments are stupid enough to pull such a move considering the current state of the US and Europe.

    Right so something doesn't work with the multiple option thing here... I don't want peace ASAP, and I dont want a reduced budget. I know what each party stands for and I clearly disagree with the left generally and on this topic. Yet that's what was given me as "the party I most aline with". The only thing I agree with them on when it comes to defence is that a united eu army is not necessarily a good idea.
    I actually agree with the center right wing in France which is tied to the EPP. But I guess the ECR stance is also relatively in line with my views, even though I wouldnt vote for the french party representing that group for various other reasons.
    The problem stems from an automatic redirection to page 1 when I click on no to a united eu army stance, which assumes I said I didn't want the EU to provid military and economic aid. But I clicked on yes to military and economic aid.
    I see what you tried doing here and it's a good idea if well done, but you tried cutting some corners and that lead me to a wrong conclusion at best and "mis-information" at worse.
    I recommend re-trying this video style but with a much more in depth approach, which I suspect would ask more time than you have to spare. If you can't spare the time to do this properly, I think this serves as little more than a gimmick which is a shame. Quality content and information should be more important than gimmicks.
    Also the pros and cons are quite limited in their complexity and... kind of subjective lets say.
    So that's my two cents anyway. Keep it up though, overall, I like your channel !
