Screened in pool and a pet squirrel? What more does a man need? 😎🤓
You forgot a wife that works a mean camera and makes killer pups
Don’t you mean what more could a squirrel need?! 😂😂😂
🐿️🐿️🐿️
Cold beer comes to mind
A wife that can make pickups ,oh he’s got one
And a FoJill....
That like was just for the squirrel alone. Fojil looks cool
This channel has taught me more about guitars than other channels combined. Real talk
The best part and what I come here for, is you taking the guitars apart, workin' your magic, me taken notes, you talkin' from the heart and you makin' it all come together like it's no body's business. Salute to you and your loved one.
Hello my friend. I love 🥰your "Li'l Buddy!" My backyard is lined with Oak trees where the squirrels nest. I have one brave little guy that I've named "Rocky." I bring peanuts in the shell with me every time that I go out to sit on my deck and Rocky knows it. When he sees me, he runs down the tree and joins me on the deck. If I toss him a peanut with the shell, he buries it in the lawn for next winter. If I crack one open for him, he eats it right away. He's getting so tame! He will climb up my leg (his claws are sharp as needles!) 😮 Then he sits in my lap and will take peanuts right out of my hand. Cheap thrills, ya' know? 😄
FYI, legally speaking, "Assault" is the THREAT of physical contact. "Battery" is MAKING actual unwanted physical contact with the victim. I believe that "that woman" "battered" you!
I bought that same Fojill guitar about 6 months ago based on a review w/breakdown you did on another Fojill. The Fojill was the second guitar after buying a Fender Squier. Since then, I’ve bought three more Fender Squiers, a Harley Benton Strat, and two Epiphones. The Fojill is my favorite to play and keep tuned up!! Thanks for the work you’re doing for those of us who are hobby affordable guitar enthusiasts.
So if Chibson is a Chinese Gibson knockoff, this is a Chibanez?
Speaking for myself, I WANT that Tweeker Pawn Shop Guitar video. That's enough lip flappin'...make it happen!
Love the black pieces Shawn! Seriously they match the headstock and go with the song... BLUE ON BLACK!
That's the best thing about having extra parts laying around. Very good move on the pickup covers😊
I bought one of these instead of an Ibanez, and I liked it so much I bought a second one. With just a little bit of setup, you can have a really sweet guitar, and I haven't even worked on the frets, not even to polish them. I play this guitar all the time and the string bends are effortless, it is smooth and easy to play. The second one is going to get a custom finish, can't wait to see how it turns out!
We appreciate you bein' here.Always entertaining!
Please Subscribe , Like and Comment. 🎸🎸🎸🎸
I bought the same guitar and with the exception of pickups it’s a player. I own over 20 big name guitars and this little guy is a value. Epi probuckers fixed it for 40$
Thank you and your wife for theae great videos . I have learned so much and have taken advice and purchased a couple affordable guitars. Also purchased the proper tools you show. I have done five sucessful set ups now, some minor frett work. Pick ups and pots is next for me to learn.
❤❤❤🐿🐿❤❤❤ Wish when I feed the ones on my property they would let me touch them. Love this guitar.
I'm glad to hear you encouraging people to follow in your footsteps. I plan on it, for retirement.
I agree on the pickups. But it is a nice guitar for the money. The chrome rings look great. The radius looks to be kind of flat like 16-20 and my arthritis would be trouble with it. But it is a beautiful neck. Nice guitar Cathy! Your squirrel friend is quite a character.!
The black one is sweet and I like your little friend , we have bears , bobcats , coyotes and fisher cats and foxes running around here but I don't think I'll attempt to befriend them 😅 killer deal bro and some of them are $119.00 can't beat it even if you have to do minor work....✌️🤘
I have a Fogill headless - great neck, no shielding. All mass produce guitars are made overseas on CNC machines which insurers perfect accuracy which is why you can buy an inexpensive guitar which plays outstanding. They do tend to skimp on pickups and no shielding. The companies are small with little overhead as opposed to a big name guitar companies with lots of employees and executives. That big name guitar that costs $900 probably cost the big company $150 to make and the huge markup covers all the excess of a big company. I once tried a EVH stripe guitar at GC and was not impressed with the guitar and the overprice, so you're right about that. I buy many China guitars in the $200 range and always upgrade the pickups. The build quality is outstanding. The copy FR trems have improved. Project: You can't get a decent guitar body and separate neck for under $200, so complete builds are the way to go - even the tuners can be decent. The wiring is also poor as they use non-shielding wires which I don't understand because the make all that shielding wire in China.
yeah...yeah.. yadda yadda yadda :)
you got a squirrel that climbs up on you?! holy cow. i want a squirrel.
I seriously think the fretwork on these cheap guitars has improved so much because of channels like yours. Even 2 years ago, these sub-$300s almost always had terrible fretwork. And while a lot of (paid) review channels would try to gloss over it, the fact that folks like you called them out relentlessly seems to have paid dividends for everyone.
Alright, that's enough lip-flappin'. Carry on!
You got a like just for squirrel. That's Craaarazy cool.
I had a pet chipmonk named Chippers when I was a child. Brings back memories!!
You know good and well you aint no cop caller. lol. Love the comedy yall.
Your absolutely correct, EVH's Frankenstrat is a $ 25-30 as a ragged out beater of a guitar at a garage sale at a pawn shop, Might even find one out by the curb for garbage pickup day. I don't feel so bad paying $ 25 for the 2005 Squier Bullet that I had to toothpick & glue the pickguard screw holes & output jack to hold together for stripped screw holes. I feel even better about that Bullet when I saw the neck screw holes on the $ 139.99 Fojill requiring a few toothpicks in every neck bolt on hole.
And I'm also with you on not getting gouged for 3-4X what a Fojill prices at to learn how the guitar is supposed to be set up & works first before I start to learn how to actually play a guitar. The basic repairs & set up this guitar needed was inconvenient, but to save a few hundred dollars it's worth the extra effort to correct a few flaws. Who knows, hit & miss for a Fogill build & QC and maybe one gets lucky and gets a closer to perfect Fojill ? Send it back and hope the next one is a better one. Amazon will do an RMA and you just drop it off at a return affiliate.. The return center will even reseal the packaging for you, they have the RMA quick scan and back it goes.
And the beauty of the Fojill link, there are 3 of them in some flavor of strawberry ice cream pink.
Cathy, on your next Amazon order, buy this man a new ball cap... lol
Your right about no guitar should cost over a thousand dollars,Im 48 years old and I have 19 guitars,Gibson les Pauls,PRS Mccartys,Fender Custom shops.I know im part of the problem for paying that much for these guitars but The one I play the most is a parts caster I have $60 dallars in I built myself.
Cool Entro and nice buy Kathy.
Turn it up 🎶🎶
Nice touch adding squirrel footage.
Hahaha 😂😊 I never thought I would see another soul on this earth that took in squirrels as pets, do you have rabbits to? Yeah those pick ups seem a tad weak in the middle and neck spots, but out of the box they at least make sound and can get you going. But at some point they at least will be replaced and I would say all 3 should be changed out, call it the mechanic in me, but at least you know all match and the sound and tone are even
Carolina blue.
I like the color of pick ups,,,looks great!
You have a pet squirrel? I always knew you were nuts 😂
1st, I'd like to say that I enjoy your common sense, no BS, no-nonsense, blue-collar approach. I'm a lefty so I gravitate to Ibanez and Schecter because they make a ton of really good left-handers. Gave up on Gibson/Fender 25yrs ago. The entry level Ibanez "infinity" pickups are better but for sure not $100.00 better. Their next level "Quantum" pickups found on the sub $500.00 Ibanez 42FM [which I also own] kick ass imho. I do have an Ibanez Gio that I bought to tinker on. I put on a graph-tech nut, roller saddles and trees, leveled, crowned, dressed, and polished the frets, rolled the fretboard and went from 3 to 2 springs to float the bridge and get the sensitivity/smoothness to my preference. It stays in tune like a champ.
Now hold on just a minute, Sean. Thanks for the great video. Your videos are giving me the confidence to mod and eventually build a guitar. I've got my teal-colored Indio HSS Strat for $87 and I'm going to do some modding after my move. Collecting the parts as we speak. I can't believe the finish on that Monoprice Indio. I couldn't do such a clean job. The hardware is a different matter for sure.
There probably would even be any super strats in the pawn shop if not for EVH’s Frankenstrat.
I think a firefly should be the next cheap guitar i heard they are great!!
I used to feed my lil' pet squirrel pumpkin seeds by hand 🖐
just put the black one in my amazon cart. and i almost bought that black fesley lp till i saw your video. thanks bud.
that's Carolina blue -- Go 'Heels!
This guitar reminds me so much of my Ibanez GRX70Q blue burst. Everything looks the same. It resonates the same. The bridge PU is the best of the three. I bought it in 2022 for $199. It is still on Amazon but now $250 ( I think they have a discount offer right now). It would be so cool if you could review the actual Ibanez for comparison to see what the difference is that would justify Ibanez charging about $100 more than the Fogill you have reviewed here. I am curious as to what you would recommend for upgrade replacements as you do in all these budget guitar videos. Overall, I like my Ibanez because the neck is wide for my sausage fingers. I have been playing it a lot lately of my 6 guitars. Just good for the size of my hand.
Notice how Sean pauses here @6:23 and says a price that is right where his retail price for his guitars are priced at. That is a good businessman right there folks....and while I do respect the entrepreneur and balls anyone has to put their product out there, I cannot even justify 8-900 bucks these days when I can do everything myself. I would love to make my own bodies and necks, but I do not have that hardware at my fingertips....I can buy blanks, painted or unpainted, for under $100 in just about any shape on the market these days. Necks from China are priced right around $80, and pickups are *everywhere* for under $50 for a set of humbucking madness. I Just bought the brown sound ones on guitar fetish, matching set on sale for $47 shipped to my door. If I go with a Floyd Rose setup, I can find OEM FRST2000 for $60 shipped. Other hardware, knobs and switches etc....EVH Fender A500k pots are ~$12.00, or you can get 4 A/B 250/500k pots on Temu for $5.00.
Even taking one of these Amazon guitars and upgrading the hell out of it shouldn't cost anywhere NEAR $300 if you look hard enough....and hell....even a half-as* luthier like me can fix a neck and make it work.
Thanks Sean, I love seeing TH-camrs show people that you do not have to line the pockets of the Gibson execs, and Fender is a joke nowadays. You know it is bad when the people are flocking to the Made in Mexico Strats because the USA made are SHI#. I hope these companies start to realize we do not want their garbage and we wont pay those prices....even Gibson is resorting to just making a model after every "musician" with a heartbeat. Even Rick Beato has a custom guitar now.... *rolls eyes*
Yup
Nice video bro love that squirel !
Might be able to clear the muddy on that neck PUP by adjusting higher to the strings.
I really want to be able to mod guitars as a hobby. Darned vision and shaky hands. I have learned so much from Sean and Cathy about guitars and pickups. Yall have the best channel on TH-cam! We are coming up on 50,000 subscribers. And zero tolerance for knuckleheads and trolls makes it a great channel to hang out in. The first thing I check when I get up and the last before I go to bed. The humor just hits the spot, good natured and really funny!
Them p rings made it look a whole lot better! Good day to you guys!
Fantasic the work ya'll do.
You ain’t wrong.
Good video, thanks!
Thar was a sure pretty guitar, I enjoy watching you I appreciate your sincerity.
I appreciate that!
From Leo: Great job as always, thank you for your work. Today's manufacturing has really narrowed the difference between entry level and a really good guitar. The difference really narrows after a minor fret service and a good set up. 30 minutes of bench time makes most of them play really well. I keep Alnico magnets in stock, and most cheapo pickups respond really well to a magnet swap. Keep on rockin'
I have basically the same guitar but a different shade of electric blue, standard shark tooth inlay, and no name on the Ibanez counterfeit head stock 4 years ago on Amazon for $88 out the door
Nice video, that fojill is pretty cool like we talked about on the phone. Sweet
Sean that was a nice guitar and looks like would be fun to tinker on. Thanks for the fun video and take care. Oh yeah the squirrel is very cool.
Nice. Cool to see Chip in a video!
I've got several different Fojill guitars and I've had very good luck with all of them
nice and I agree with you!
The Chibanez.
Been looking at that one for a month. Not really my style, but it is pretty cool. Contemplating which pickups I'd drop in it, because those didn't thrill me from reviews either. Maybe Wilkinson's, Slick's, or FLEOR's. Alnico V humbuckers and an Alnico II single. Love the little dude eating the worm. You're right, I didn't know they ate those.
Great vid. have you ever looked at East Coast Guitars?
I’ve had two squirrels as pets in my life cute little bastards, until they grow up!
You ought to bring your pet squirrel to Illinois. I’ll bet he’d like chomping on the cicadas that have taken over my town! Great review, keep em coming…
Man I appreciate your honest take on signiture guitars ... at the end of the day I prefer a partscaster ish. Guitars with the parts "I"want. Who really wants to sound like anyone else anyway. Be original and leave "your" own scar on the scene.
I said $50 but your probably closer to right at $30.
I bought a PRS Std. SE for $600 some years ago and a Fender US built Strat for $400 a few years before that. Since then I've bought a Donner on sale for $99 spent $200 on upgrades and about 3 hours to set it up. It plays as well as either of the others and IMHO sound every bit as good. I can't imagine spending more than $200 ever again and to be honest theres about $50 worth of grace built into that number. :)
Well, that's enough filp flappin', time to watch you make it happen.
GREAT EXPERIMENT ... EVH GUITAR COPY TAKEN TO PAWN SHOP. NOW THAT WOULD MAKE A GREAT VIDEO !!!
Yo Sean, the 10.4 relates to the saddle measurement. IE: 52 mm would be a bridge measurement for pickup.
I noticed there was no shielding paint in the pickup pockets. Would adding that paint help the sound of the guitar?
I appreciate your review man. Make my buying decisions on guitars have a different view now.
I've been adding 8-32 threaded inserts to most of my partscasters to test the quality and if it is worthwhile to do this for someone like me who is always tinkering.
jack and jill went up the hill with a fojil. to jam on some chords. jack turned around and came back down. because he forgot the amp to play on.
Very good review, nice squirrel footage. Very interesting point about signature guitars, the other aspect of signature guitars is that just because one has one, doesn't mean that they can play any better or as good as that artist.
This is cool thank you
Every week is Christmas with Sean & Cathy. That red label means it’s highly radioactive.
A new cast member! Well maybe not so new, Chip, so cool. Yes sir, those inexpensive guitars are awesome, I'm currently starting a Partscaster Strat build, in your favorite color no less, this one is Lack Placid Blue. Thanks for the awesome video y'all.
Very cool!
Just came across your video’s…. Very cool. 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶
That bridge pick up has that telecaster sound to me anyway. Nice looking guitar
I think you save me a lot of money in the future bro, I love watching your channel,,😊 also learned a lot about setting up my guitars thank you!
Happy to help!
Thanks Sean, Another Great Video as Always..
Ps. Troglys Reaper Review is Up...
I think that guitar sounds good, pickups vary when coming from over there
Chip is awesome. 🎸🐿️ Rock on brother🫵🏼👁️👁️
thanks for selling me this guitar on eBay. It was well worth the price even with shipping and tax. Thanks for going over it so well the treble pick up is the best. What would you recommend on the neck pick ups? There's a lot to choose from. It seems again JS in Pueblo.
FRET MASTER TO BEAST MASTER ! LOL GOOD STUFF SCAR...
Headstock reminds me of the OLD Carvin headstocks.
Great as usual Sean , can i ask what vst you run in the background plz, dont think i know that one , thanks in advance. (Old man from UK )
Love your videos
Yer an honest inspiration to America dude
You are great miss!
I knew there was something "squirly" going on. That HSH in Blue does look nice. Surprised you didn't have to do a lot to make it get going. That would be a great starter/parts guitar for sure.
Love this video
@Shawn.
I wish you'd show the ohms impedance of these pickups.
I understand not liking the black Pickups some white accents would look killer on this.
The Fojills are decent for the bucks. Still might come out ahead with Firefly or Harley Benton since hardware is usually better for just a few more bucks.
Wish you tried changing the magnets
Reminds me of a Yamaha I had I think it was the rgx series only mine had a fake Floyd rose tremolo and locking nut..
Do yer tangent, Sean! We are listening! I'd bet your "pawn shop" challenge will get a lotta looks on TH-cam! DO IT, brother! BTW: Is that lil guitar screw case Cathy made for sale online? Inquiring minds wanna know?
Too bad us bass players can't find deals like this!!!
🤣”Get your finger out of there” SMACK! 😂🤣
"Don't touch my knurled squirrel"
I don’t know about all of them but I got two Ibanez that were about 500 maybe a little bit more but they were killer
