He is great, majestic but he had big issues with rust on doors and trunk and some other parts of the car. Poor protection, body is not galvanized. BMW and Audi is much better in that case.

You can hear corridion eating them even in summer time...simply Mercedes made disaster. W220 is the Mercedes downfall model. Entire downfall starts from w220....BMW took clients...

Even BMW fanboys acknowledge that the E65 7 Series was the worst BMW in the marques history due to its chronic unreliability but you think that BMW took sales from Mercedes at that time?? There is no doubt technological advancements were made, as with every new generation e class, but the 210 hasn’t held up too well over the years like the w124 has. The drivetrains are very good, but the car generally represents the “modernization” of Mercedes design and engineering philosophy.. which emphasized higher production numbers, lower build cost and higher profit margins. The only way I can see the w210 as the better car is because of its more modern features. It was not a groundbreaking car in any way.. quite the opposite. The w211 is a far more modern, nicer looking, less rust prone car than the w210, but does that make it the better car? Not really. They are good enough for most people but will almost certainly never be considered classics like the w124, which is still the benchmark of build quality, reliability and durability.
@@the8419 true, but the ones that have survived and are still going strong after 25 years are just some of the few good ones. Spares are of good quality, OEM parts are not expensive and always available. The same as with the w124. Those had some very big problems in the first year of production and the ones from 85-86 and 93-95 (so even the I Mopf ones) also rusted a lot. But the ones that survived the troubles are still going strong. With some luck you can find gems, but I guess that's with every car. The only difference is that the mechanical parts on these Mercedeses are top notch when you overcome the start-up problems.
@@12123188 any new car will have some issues in the first few MYs. However, there isn’t a single MY W124 that’s known to rust inherently. Sure, many have some rust due to climate, but it depends on how well taken care of the car was. Besides the wiring harness issue, MY 1993-1995 were the best years of the W124. Rust was a problem on nearly every W210 produced. So no, they both don’t “rust a lot,” just the W210 does.

My e320 just hit 250000 miles and still runs great

I still have mine as well. Its a 2000 e320 4matic Estate with 97000 miles. I'm the second owner, bought it in 2005. Really great cars!
